Should you become an EMT? What are some of the benefits of EMT? What is an EMT? What do EMT's do? Where do EMT's work?
Gaining your EMT certification is the first step in EMS. I've decided to put together this EMS training video, where I detail the 5 reasons to become an EMT.
I break down what you will learn in EMT school, and what skills you acquire being an EMT. If you considering an EMT job or one day want to enter Paramedic School, learn from these 5 first.
Whether you are an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic, let me know your thoughts below!
Let me know in the comments what your "top 5" would be and whether you agree or disagree with my top 5 for becoming an EMT!

Does your program have the updates of 2021 for AHA Acls
Very nice video, is the shift variety able in most places? Because me for example i need to travel every 4 months( its 1 to 2 weeks every travel) would I be able to do that with any problem?
I’m hooked you should of definitely added more reasons
1.) I want to make a difference in peoples lives directly
2.) I want to be in a position where my choices will make that difference in someones life individually
3.) I want to better myself every day by helping others
4.) I want to answer my calling, whatever it may be in this world, and I feel like EMS will help me achieve those goals
5.) I want to take advantage of the life I have and use it to give back to the people of my community
I’m in my last month of EMT school, first ride along is tomorrow and I am HYPED!!
Let's go! Welcome to the channel!
How’s the job been so far?
Any updates? Best of luck
Updated? Have you quited?
I've been an emt for 12 yrs and I love your videos keep up the great work.
Thank you! Will do!
Just got my course completion. Finished with a 97% average. Applied for my NREMT exam today. I'm so pumped.
Let's go Anthony! Welcome back to the channel my friend; Grab my video study course for NREMT prep here: www.prepareforems.com
Keep after it!
Was the NREMT hard ?, I’m going through the unitek EMT boot camp Rn and I wanted to know what should I expect
@BigGlow 600. I will tell you this. The NREMT is an adaptive test. If you're finding it really difficult, you're probably doing well. If it seems simple, you probably aren't doing as well as you think.
Update: I did pass the NREMT in May. I swore I failed. But I passed at 70 questions. I'm now a full time EMT and on an ALS crew within my first month. It's rough sometimes, but I love it.
@@anthonyshawley4954 do you have any advice for the interviewing process?? I have my first interview tomorrow and just wanted to know what I should expect
I'm looking at entering an EMT program in the spring after 24 years of being a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy has been pretty much a dead end for me, but after traveling to 12 different states last year working at vaccination clinics for FEMA, I learned that I enjoy working with different types of people. The one thing that took me a few days to get used to was causing pain to patients for their benefit.
#5 is WHY i want to do it. I have always loved helping people and wanted to be a emt cop or fire fighter since I was about 8. I have 5 kids, been there done that, ready for a challenge and the reward of helping.
Hi, I'm new to EMS and recently subscribed to paramediccoach. Have been watching videos every chance I get, really impressed and grateful to have these as a guide.
Most of the advice given seems to be directed to career EMS. Most services around me are volunteer and unpaid. I'm starting EMT-B in January. Any advice or guidance you can give for part-time, unpaid, rural EMS would be welcomed.
Totally agree except for the speed. I'm not fast but I have a rhythm. I retired after 34 years and loved every day.
Im still in grade 10 , and im watching ur videos to be ready for my senior high school 💪💪💪
Imagine literally saving someone’s life
it is excellent information you should add a little more such as five more reasons why has it become an EMT
becoming an EMT was always my fallback incase i didnt want to become a chef. Ive been working as a cook for a while now and im sick of how toxic service can be, Cooks arguing with servers, 40 people coming in all at once. Not to mention the growth opportunity, I can become a paramedic and even an RN were my mother works. My main question if i had to ask would be do you grow close to your team?
Absolutely, and welcome to the channel! ; You will definitely grow with having great partners in EMS, it's all about team work to help the patient.
Starting EMT basic on May 3rd and I’m super excited to start my future career as hopefully a paramedic
Love your videos man, Pre-PA and I’m taking a semester off my bio undergrad major to do an EMT program at my community college, excited to become an EMT-B and hopefully be able to move up to A-EMT before PA school
hey man, i’m a chem student planning to do something similar to what you said you’re doing here. how did it go? any advice?
Your top 5 are plenty good! Just an EMR First Responder, but always want to learn more and be comfortable and confident that I am doing everything I can when called. Thanks for all your tips and advice.
Thank you Tim, for watching this video! Welcome to the channel and look forward to helping you throughout your career.
trying to convince my mom that this is actually what i want to do. adding these to my list!!!
Actually, I have never had any reason to become an EMT or a paramedic, and I don't know why I need it. I just have felt that I need it since my school days. And your reasons sound very good, and my confidence that I want to become an EMT or paramedic became stronger.
Unfortunately, I couldn't enter medical school in my country, and now I don't have any chance to go to EMT school. I hope that one day I will learn English well enough, win a green card, move to the USA, study at an EMT school, and will finally begin to help people.
Thank you for your video. It will help me on my way.
Iam super pumped for my emt test with the skills and points your teach me 😎😎
Thanks for the kind words here Malik! let's do this!
Say you go through emt training and don’t like it. Where would you go with that training afterwards?
Just took the written exam today fingers crossed! #nremt #emt #paramedic
Thank you for your video. I wanted to ask about your training videos, how up to date is the information so that passing the NR is possible
Hey thanks for the message here! The course is always up to date, for example, I just added new content today my friend. This is the exact prep material I give to my students here: www.prepareforems.com
@@TheParamedicCoach should I join now while in EMT school or wait until just before graduation to pass NR
@@LowCostWaterSofteners I recommend joining as soon as possible, the course will also clear up and speed up the process of your learning in EMT school. Alot of my students will even get the course before school to prep; www.prepareforems.com
Welcome Aboard!
I want to do EMT cause medical and politics have always been in my family and in EMT I get to learn so much and feel like I make a difference I will have so many opportunities and options like switching to nursing or going the paramedic route which is what I would love to do and I can take what I learned with me in life and into any job I go to it's a valuable education and knowledge to learn and I plan on doing scholing through my life and being able to to pick and have the variety in schedules is a plus for a life long student
I. Am. Now. Working. At. New. Orleans. Ems.
That's awesome, congrats!
Hey I hope you’re having a good day .
I’m thinking about choosing this job and I would appreciate it if you answer this question. If you go back would you still choose this job ?

I plan on becoming a physician assistant but I think that being a EMT will prepare me for this job. Am I right?
100%, I have a good friend of mine who used to be an EMT and was my partner in the ambulance. Now he is a cardiac surgery PA.
I want to pursue this as a career and i’m very lost at the moment. What are the requirements to become an EMT and is it even worth it making it a long term career. Where do i even start?
I recommend you watch the playlist here: ruclips.net/video/0XouWIGulwA/видео.html

I was in school to become a Medical Assistant & I didn’t fit for me. I really want to become a EMT.
how to become a paramedic
I'm from Indonesia
Some small townships will pay for your schooling
That's awesome!
what are some colleges that have emt classes
Love your video’s #nremt #emt #paramedic
"You could go from nothing to EMT to Paramedic for under $10k." Or, if you're in SE Michigan (and look up Medstar), you could get PAID for EMT and get Paramedic for a contract -- that way you're literally getting paid to upgrade your skills and overall value to society. Pretty cool, eh?
That’s exactly what I’m thinking 💭 because I see so many medstar trucks in MI
I would quit drinking soda and drink a whole crap of water and exercise a lot
Are you an active emt if so how physically demanding is it?
🙏
Bummer seems like the price of your program keeps going up.
