I’m Singaporean. I have been to xinjiang for holiday in 2017. Was invited to a local minority wedding in the far north of Xinjiang. I’ve travelled 600km to reached there. No foreigners except me. It’s basically a town for minorities. Beautiful place. Happy people.. no terror nor fear. Had a great time there. Love it and would like to do it again if I have time.

That's what I have been suggesting. You got to play their game right. The problem though, US has literally disabled the international court by sanctions and cutting off fundings.
Speaking of Singapore, the China of today reminds me more and more of Singapore. The blend of old and new architecture, the green, citizen-friendly walkways and plazas, the state-of-the-art infrastructure, the adoption of hi-tech tools at all levels, the superb internationalized education, and so much more.
Within the space of 2-3 decades, Singapore developed from a 3rd-world country into a 1st-world country. Over the past 2 decades, China has accomplished the same - for the most part.
And just like in Singapore, China's development is being carried out for the benefit of all the citizens - not for only the elites and the oligarchs.
During my 5 years living in Singapore, I came to realize that Singapore is "The Peak of Civilization." By following a similar model of economic and social growth and development, China will soon be able to claim that it ranks a close second.

How are we supposed to believe things blindly when the western media can stir issue on mere manipulated evidence, the same way people say the chinese government is doing? Hearing chinese voices or local voices can be one way of actually seeing what’s happening in China. It wont change our views immediately, but at least we’re seeing the people’s point of view (something the western media always refuse to show). This way we can at least judge things more critically.

I'm Chinese living in Australia. I find it particularly interesting that, there's a huge difference of attitude between the Aussies who have and haven't travelled abroad. For those who actually travelled to other countries, they tend to be more open-minded and reasonable, and would listen to what you're saying. And for those never leave the country, don't argue with them, they know everything! Once one of my classmate showed a picture of her hometown to our lecturer, our lecturer was like 'is that new york city?' My classmate then told her that's her hometown. Our lecturer just looked at her wide-eyed. The other time I told my coworker there's a Mosque very close to my home in China, she just stared at me in disbelief. Makes you wonder what the heck did those media tell them...

I am a Malaysian who studied in China in 2019. I have to agree that international media has really brainwashed people to discriminate and hate china for no reason. If you really want to understand a country, the best way is definitely travel there and stay there for a period of time, experience the life there yourself. I personally also have some negative impression on China due to the influence of media, but a lot of them have changed after I lived there. My experience is that just like any other country in this world, China is not perfect but it is developing rapidly in various aspect. Most of the people I met there are welcoming and friendly as well.
I am Malaysian too. Thanks for the truthful info. I have many relatives in China even in Taiwan. My relatives furnish me with many info about China that are contraries to Western media. Now how can I believe in Western media. How am I going to recognise British education. I felt like being cheated all this while. Shame of you.

The university has taught me to look at both side of the story and do not simply trust what people told you even know is from a proper news media or "proof" is given. Just like writing an essay, there's always a counter argument. So yeah, you're the one that need to choose which one to believe in ,but always Remember to be open and ready to accept changes~ don't be stubborn in your own opinions as they might be wrong :)

I am Chinese American, my American born and raised high school senior son just argued with me about Xinjiang on our dinner table tonight, I told him I don't believe these western news, there was no evidence. He said he would rather believe the western news than the Chinese news. I will forward this video to him.

@@XG9769 Be patient with your son, actually I had the same perspective as he had (except I realized how much the western media would badmouth China). I still don't know where I stand in this situation, but telling your son abt how the western media tells lies about China and this situation will not help, he will actually think you are more brainwashed by the Chinese media. His beliefs are influenced by his environment, so you can't do a lot to change his mind unless he himself is willing to look deeper into the situation. As long as this difference of opinion doesn't cause conflicts between you guys and make him hate his roots, so China, I would let him be.

You are a Saint. Your videos open the minds and eyes and burns the propaganda deluge. I am a red blooded American.
I am American, and over the past few years I have opened my eyes to the fact that we are the first victims of our government's geopolitical agenda. We have seen how our government can act unilaterally on the international stage, even against the UN at times, to start wars around the world. So they really DO NOT need support of the international community. Instead, what they DO need is the support of the American people, and for that the media plays a paramount role. Over the past four years, I have seen how the liberal media twisted everything Trump said, and we now see how Fox news continues to spread lies and smear the Biden administration every chance they get. This kind of partisan bickering is not conducive to any progress for our country, and it has really made me lose hope in America. It is very sad to see for me, because as any other American, I have heavily invested all my life in the future of this country. It is now clearer to me than ever that the future is in China. And I need to learn Chinese.

As a Chinese, I really feel very unfair. In Xinjiang, there are 15 years of free education, while in my hometown Shaanxi, there are only 9 years of free education. Uighurs can get extra points in exams, and it's easier for them to go to a good university than Han people, also ethnic minorities can have as many children as they want. There are many preferential policies for ethnic minorities, but the western media still spreading lies about the extinction of Uighurs all the time. Doesn't anyone want to know the truth? The Uygur population has quadrupled, from more around 4 million to more than 20 million today. Is this genocide? I'm really angry，What's wrong with the world？

Regarding the population numbers, I guess the 4 million refer to the first census in 1953. Also the world population has tripled from 1953 to now from 2.7 billion to 8 billion. The population of Africa has more then quintupled in this time span. Moreover, the family planning regulations, called genocide by several western countries, have only been implemented since around 2015, so that their effect on the population number is not yet noticeable. However, the the birth rates in Xinjiang dropped by 48% from 2017 to 2019 to 30% below national average according to the China Statistical Yearbook. This birth rate drop is the largest in a global region since the UN started collecting fertility data 71 years ago. In comparison, after implementing the China-wide one-child-policy in 1980, the national birth rates remained stable till the 90s, and then started dropping by around 7% every two years.

I live in Singapore and I remember decades ago, Western media used to say, the Singapore government was a quasi-Authoritarian one. Freedom of speech was non-existent, etc. It is true that Singapore has been ruled by the same political party (PAP) since our independence. It is true that there were opposition politicians who were made bankrupt or put in jail, because of their socialist/ communist leanings. But it is also a fact that the citizens of Singapore have always voted (it is compulsory to vote) for the same political party for the last 55 plus years. We are a tiny nation with no natural resources, but we are one of the wealthiest, most stable, peaceful countries in the world. We are happy with the way Singapore turned out. We wouldn’t trade Our version of an Asian socialist democracy for an American democracy. If we did, we would still be rowing our sampans down a smelly swampy river filled with trash and zinc roof wooden homes. The CCP like Singapore’s government (PAP) may not be perfect. But it works for China and my tiny island nation. I’ve travel to 35 countries, lived in the USA for 3 years and I’ve been to China. China’s cities are so cutting edge, it makes my own country, Singapore, feel backwards and lacklustre.

I am minorityvof Tujia. Got 20 points extra for the University entrance exam. And I went to one of pre universities specially opened for minorities in Henan province. There I met lots of minorities, Zhuang, Man, Miao, Buyi, Xibo, Uyghurs etc. My bff is from Kazakhs( so I also basically only ate in the Muslim canteen or restaurant, super delicious! ). There, only a few students from Xinjiang or other provinces whose mandarin is not that good compared to other students were required to attend an extra mandarin lesson, the rest subjects are all the same. I met a girl from Uyghur (pity I lost her contact), she was very nice and showed me their traditional cultural, like putting the henna on my nails. We participated in lots of activities from the university, we were quite proud to wear our own ethic clothes in the festival gala, opening ceremony of sports matches, even some important guys from the government visit the university, we were definitely invited to participate. It was a wonderful year, except gained 5kg XD

Everytime I talk about China on RUclips I get censored. I realize China is scaring the U.S. and that`s one reasopn they don`t allow the truth. When I came to UK many years ago, I learnt that in Inner Mongolia, people are not allow to study Mongolian, or practice different religion, and all people are forced to praise CCP...funny because I grew up in Inner Mongolia, Hohhot, and til this day, there are Mongolian translation, on EVERY STORE SIGN, and countless halal restaurant selling beef noodles, I grew up eating in those restaurants, back then I had no idea what halal means and why the staff in those restaurants wore those bowl shaped hats...people were just chillin and getting along really well, and they are not forced to praise the CCP, people in China love the country because of patriotism, the history and culture, and all of a sudden I have an English lecture, who never stepped a foot outside UK, telling me Inner Mongolia is occupied by CCP's liberation army, people have no freedom or human right...my friends who still lives in Hohhot are living a better life than most unemployed junkies in UK, but the media need to tell lies so people in the west can feel superior I suppose, when in reality is quite the opposite.

I was sharing my office with a graduate student from Inner Mongolia of China. He and his roommate both spoke Mongolians if they want, even when playing video games together. They told me that from their elementary schools to high schools, usually there are two types of classes: Han and Mongolian ethnicity classes. Han and Mongolian students were taught separately through different languages, but they still participated in the school events together as a whole. So I don't really believe that ccp forced them to ONLY learn Mandarin. I choose to believe in the real minorities I know in my life.

Personally, if I didn't know there was discrimination against black people in some countries, I would have grown up not even knowing the word "racism" existed. In fact, in China, when it comes to ethnic minorities, many people are envious. Ethnic minorities can get bonus points in China's college entrance exam, enjoy preferential treatment in shopping and tourism in some places, and give priority to ethnic minorities in employment. Appropriate preferential treatment may be granted even if the offence is not serious.
