A request to twirl is made at a fashion show, a request to flex is made at a physique competition, a request to serve is at a tennis match. Guy, girl, trans, you wouldn't ask a bodybuilder to serve, a model to flex, and a tennis player to twirl. When we do that it is called objectifying because of the self-serving nature of the request in the context of the event. Although some don't mind, it can be madding to others and can undermine the person AND the sport, or event. It comes down to respect, and a lack of respect for a person or event is likely to find someone disrespected. Simple stuff right?
If you don't see the sexism in this, you really aren't paying attention to the whole picture. Why would an athlete who just won a game of such large stakes want to show their outfit off of all things? Bouchard was classy in the way she handled this, but all the guys here would call the reporter an idiot is he asked Roger Federer to show his abs or something like that. P.S - A feminist is someone who supports equal rights for both genders. READ, people.

Well, women have always seemed prone to nagging about useless stuff - it really drives men nuts! The more power women have, the more complaining we are going to hear overall (e.g., media, universities, work, etc.). But seriously, whatever... The people commenting here seem to be taking the complaining just as seriously as the complainers are taking the crap they are complaining about. Guys should not be asked to flex, they should be asked to twirl.
Well men should be asked to flex because they are men 😧
girls should be asked to open their legs
twirling is better than twerking
+JOHNNY FUTS Who asks male athletes to twerk?
I've seen Men twerking when they were asked to but not athletes.
pretty weird and creepy request...
she blushed and smiled doing it.. audience clapped.. news anchor herself is smiling about it...
what the fuck is the problem here? everyone's happy!
Was it inappropriate? Yes but come on people. If a male tennis player was asked to take off his shirt, no one would complain.
Bingo 😉
Rafa was asked some time back to show his shoulders and biceps when he was wearing sleeves, and he did, and did so graciously
Man why do people rage at things like this it's not like she was being harassed or anything. I swear feminists are crazy sometimes
