Really useful advice - I shoot an English longbow for field archery and this advice to concentrate on an even distribution of effort across the shoulders has already improved my technique considerably. More videos like this please.

If you watch him in competition, his form in the draw is a car crash! But he Still has the cleanest release I’ve ever seen on an archer. Legend.

I love it, it gives me hope that I can achieve consistency even if I can't master proper form

Xalnop Yep, the main focus in archery isn't actually perfect form, but form that is safe and stable for you as a person (so it doesn't cause injury), and consistently repeatable. It's the consistency that makes you precise.
There's a few things that mostly everyone does, as they're more repeatable, like the reference under the chin with a sight, the string against the nose, and a neutral expression. Everything else is just getting it the same each time. For recurve, look at Oh Jin Hyek, and Michele Frangilli. Neither are the picture of perfect form, but both are at the top of their game at the moment.
For compound, look at Reo Wilde. Again, not the most perfect form, but you can't argue with that stack of trophies, medals, and total purse won.

I think he refers to that stretched out form that most archers are taught when they get into the sport, Oh worries more about the feel of the shot than how it looks.

Can anyone argue with his credentials as he is after all an Olympic champion of note???? He got it right and the others there did not.
