I totally agree with what you said about valuing the feeling of expansion over the alignment. My personal experience is that I tried for weeks to find the skeletal stable position for the bow arm shoulder alignment but it didn't work out. Then one day when I tried to feel the directions of the push and pull forces, my body automatically knew how to stay stable. Having the right feeling about the movements is a game changer for me.

Release, I had a case of golfers elbow some time ago. The consequences of that injury was at certain times nerves in my elbow would get pinched as I reached full draw, the nerves being pinched would result in temporary paralysis of my draw fingers. That created the feeling of a cut rubber band at full draw or nearly full draw. It was a WOW feeling. The draw hand would fly back. If you could induce temporary paralysis in the draw fingers safely that would be a fabulous teaching experience in how to create a excellent follow thru. Thanks Tom Lund. I’d love to hear you talk about two topics 1: why do some archers shake at full draw? 2: Why are some archers very quick thru the clicker and others slow or slower with long holds before the clicker clicks, sometimes with poor shots due poor releases due to fatigue.

Thank you for explaining the connection Oh Jin makes with the expansion on both arms. Its incredible to see the simultaneous expansion of both the arms.
There is one disagreement though. His third finger is not slipping off.. It is there just to do one job - supporting the hook. Think about it.. If you have 3 fingers on the string.. the pressure input into the shot is coming from 3 fingers, but if you have only two fingers on the string, you reduce the risk of errors by 30% atleast. Which means.. the accuracy potential with 2 fingers is 30% more than the conventional 3 finger hooks.

Thank you for tackling this. I think few would have the courage to point out the Positive Benefits of "bad things." :-)
Another advantage of relaxing the Draw fingers is it "effectively" lengthens your "forearm" allowing you to move the Draw arm an Shouler around a little bit more into alignment.
Hope you get over your cough and feel better!

I'm just here to listen to Ash say "position". We had to wait nearly eleven and a half minutes, but it was worth it.

I like this!!! It’s just an extension of shooting a plains style bow. Just keep on pulling steadily until it rips

Another thing quite unconventional. Is that he is not totally vertical with the target he is a little off I think this helps in his expansion. He is actually shooting instictively❤❤

more energy in expanding rather than drawing phase is actually what I need, even though I shoot traditional short bow

I remember Victor Ruben who would draw and anchor with his thumb behind his neck.

We must not forget that Mr Oh seems to be extremely strong. When I watch him, I feel he could easly shoot a 55lb bow with no effort. If that is the case, technique is not as important as say for Chang Hye jin.

your later video somewhat contradicts this about the 3rd finger and shallower hook ...I prefer the French hook and Oh jins faster draw

I’ve been practicing this technique for years without even thinking about it, because it felt the most natural “ For Me “. And although there are so called efficient, and proper ways to “ properly “ draw a bow back, weather it’s the KSL shot cycle or similar, it’s always been sort of a motto of mine, that I got from a movie quote from the Late Great Bruce Lee………quote “ Don’t think…….Feel “, it is like a finger pointing away to the moon. That whole concept far outweighs everything I thought I learned previously, despite how archery was taught. It’s about individuality and their style or techniques in how they achieve their goals in archery, …..or in life for that matter. This is why Archery is the most evolutionary sport, or activity in the world. ……..the goal is the same, but the technique evolves endlessly. The only difference that sets apart the ole school archery, to the modern day archery, is the use of “ high tech “ materials and technique these days. But in the end, it’s putting arrow on target, and that’s the beauty of it all. I guess I won’t feel bad now, in what “ should be done “ as opposed to how it’s done “ by ME “……….Thanks for posting brotha 😇🙏🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹👍

Hmm... I find it strange that there is no warning label attached by this platform to your video. It seems that you are not bothering anyone on the top of the social hierarchy. I am just kidding. Don't worry about it.
