Ooh love how you did this by actual usage!
I do this with a piece of painter’s tape on each palette, single, and blush. It’s eye opening! Mid year, I do look at all of them and amp up the use on less used so they all get some love.
That's so smart and probably easier to remember to tally than pulling up a spreadsheet!
That's how I track too! So Much easier!
I made labels with my little label printer from Amazon. I put the year and a little grid on it so I could put an x in each box as I use them.

I was attempting to declutter palettes in my collection and was struggling so I decided to see what I grab for just naturally this year and keeping track by putting a strip of masking tape on the back of each palette to put a tally mark on when I use it. Figured end of year I will look at them again and see what I actually use
I like this idea. I’m keeping a spreadsheet that I started in January but already I occasionally forget a day or two and have to go back so I’m worried what will happen as the year progresses. Tape may be easier - can add it when I put a palette into rotation from my stash and mark up right away as I’m using it. Then the question becomes, will I actually do a tally at the end of the year? Trying to out think myself and my tendencies…hmmm 😅
@@leaj3799 I had a hard time of doing the spreadsheets as well so putting the tape on each palette as been really helping me. Soon as I am done doing my eyes for the day, I mark the tape real quick. As far as the end of the year that might be a hard one as well but we can hope right lol

3. Thank you for talking me out of the ND I Need a Nude palette. I've been contemplating buying it since it came out, but after hearing your thoughts, I think I can officially take it off my wish list 😅
I depotted all my BH travel pallettes. They're my favourite formula but I sometimes struggled with the colour stories. Now that they are singles I am getting alot more use and finding new favourite shades I never got use out of before.
I don't understand why people separate palettes based on seasons. If I want to use a specific palette, I will use it no matter what season is. It just depends on the mood🤷♀️
For me it is fun to switch up my makeup/palettes seasonally! But if I’m in the mood to use a “summer” palette in winter I will still use it 🥰

I still love my Stoned Vibes palette too and the shimmers in mine are drying up a bit too. Wish it wasn’t limited edition so I could replace it and I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to buy a palette for a second time before. I have 4 pans and a huge dip in a 5th ❤

Hi Sarah, ND I Need a Nude isn’t on my wish list for a number of reasons but I did get my third ND palette this year, Yucca, with Ulta points (my other 2 were a gift and on sale). I agree that while nice, ND palettes can be flawed and I won’t pay full price. One of my main complaints with Natasha Denona palettes is how different they often look in the pan compared to on the eyes. It can often throw off the look I’m going for. On the other hand, the shadows that are good are really really good. The plus side is the magnetic removable pans and I’m at the point where I want to do what Lauren Mae does and rearrange mine to maximize my use. Glad you got to meet Lauren. I think her palette is beautiful- one of the sleeper hits of the year. For me Sea Talk screams summer although the neutrals mean you can use it year round so I think I will get more use from it later in the year as it took me until this past November to finally decide to order it.

I love Aethr Rose too. Another palette that is great for blending out is Hindash's Monochromance. I had it and hardly used it and then Smithy Sony mentionsed that it blended out any shadows like a dream and she is correct!

You have to try the Yucca palette of ND ! My favourite 😍 and i'm sure it will look amazing with your eyes and hair
I divide up my makeup by season. Of course, there’s overlap, but I have colors and neutrals I prefer seasonally. I never get bored of my color products that way, and the change of seasons is always welcome. Plus, it’s very quickly determined if a color or formula fits. It’s been my way of justifying my extensive makeup collection for decades. It keeps it fun and fresh for me.
I want a kitty! 😭 I wonder what creator’s animals think when their parents start talking to no one. In reference to the Aether beauty palette. I scored all of them for a song when they were closing down their shop. Those pallets are really good. It’s a shame they shut down. I thought they were coming back but I could be mistaken. I agree with you with ND I Need a Nude.

I pair my palettes together a lot so I feel like I get more usage overall, especially now that I'm down to 18 palettes. Even still, I still kind of feel like I have more palettes than is reasonable at times.

What a great video, so fun to see what you reach for, although the project panning was for sure the reason why for the number one palette, organically you for sure did have some favorites.

I depotted the Flower beauty palettes, The shadows are so soft, I pressed them into new pans, that were deeper but smaller. The Flower pans are huge, but more shallow. I did lose some of the shadow, but honestly I didn’t mind with the cost and having them in a more normal sized pan that I can keep with my regular singles made them something I use so much more frequently. It’s amazing how much you can get off Amazon and getting magnetic pans that I could just scoop the shadow into and repress was so easy.
I couldn't stop staring at your eye look the whole time! Gorgeous! Love this video concept! I have so many eye shadow palettes (honestly, it's embarrassing how many, especially since I'm NOT a content creator, nor do I want to be), but I badly need to break myself of the habit of knee jerk buying pretty things just because they're new. But this is a great idea, to really track usage in general, but also as a deterrent for myself. 😂
Haha I had to laugh so much. The first two palettes you showed.. "it's very boring" and then there's a shade called boring in it. And the other one.. "this is a very springy palette" and then there's a shade in it called spring 😂😂
I know you like wet n wild eyeshadows and you're looking for a shadow similar to sandstone in the athr beauty - I use a wet n wild single named Brûlée every time I do my makeup as a lid setting shade. It's only 2 bucks and definitely worth it!
This was such a fun and interesting video! I would love to see your swatch party search for that replacement matte shade. And what if you take apart your BH cosmetics palettes and use 9 Pan Z palette's to create full looks with crease, lid, tradition, brow bone shades from all your singles.
That's a fun idea to do with the BH palettes! I think my biggest problem is not having the right sized magnetic palettes to put the shades into if I keep all the shades from each palette together. So I think mixing them would probably make the most sense!
@@SarahRoseBeauty Hope that works out for you. I think it would be fun to make your own color stories since you would have so many singles to work with. I think you'd reach for them and get more use on them If you knew you could create a whole look using them. Personally I'm less likely to use a palette if I know I have to have a companion palette with it because I'm usually in a hurry.

My elf earth and oceans palette has gone down in performance 😢. I tried using it like 3-4 times last year and every time I used it I could tell it wasn’t as good as it used to be. You definitely were the one that made me wanna buy it back in 2020 tho 😊. I did really like it but mine just isn’t great anymore unfortunately.

I used my Aethr Citrine quad palette once this past year and then gave it to my niece at Thanksgiving. The colors just never looked good on me.
I get what ur saying about the athr sandstone shade. I love using the hoola bronzer lite for the same thing. Although i dont think its the same shade i just use it for a similar effect.
Naked Sin is season neutral. I love it.
There's so many palettes just like the Unleashia from so many brands that do much better colour stories... But all the Western YT folks buy the same 3 Korean palettes 😅 I'd try 3CE, Dasique, Etude House, Clio, Peripera, Rom&nd, Tony Moly, Lilybyred etc etc
I like this idea, l always consider myself more of a singles user so would be interested to see how much l use my palettes (l prob only have 15 so wouldn't be hard).You look beautiful in this video ❤

I love Natasha Denona palettes but I did not like I need a nude. The formula felt different to me and the tones weren’t as flattering. Yucca and xenon were great for me

I should have guessed which palette was your most used, at least by process of elimination, but I was still surprised. It is a lovely palette, though.
I tried one of the ND mini palettes and based on the hype and price tag I was disappointed. It was nice but not any better from other eyeshadows I have tried. One of the shimmers was a flaky mess.
