What breaks my heart is that this was 3 years ago, meaning that they are in the late stages now.
I have to disagree with you.
My grandma was diagnosed with this 15.5 years ago.. she was always the same for the first 5 years to 6 years and then on the 6/7th year was when I started seeing her dementia progress, but that was brought because of a UTI that made her memory worse and change her personality completely but temporary.. sometimes, I questioned if she even had Dementia.. she had plaque in her brain everywhere, though.. she lived with dementia for 12 years and passed away from another illness.. her brain was still sharp some days and other days she had short term memory loss.. she had a very slow progression, so it depends on the type of dementia and how you take care of yourself.. I hate dementia, I hate cancer.
6 years ago watching this now😢
I was diagnosed with dementia last year..Early stages..I am fighting it..
Good luck! 🍀
Look into Huperzine A and EGCG!!!!! You can get it at the vitamin store
YOU CAN DO IT
any updates?
I wish you well Olga
What happened
"I know something is wrong". That's how I feel now.
i liked the Christmas Tree lights analogy, it provided me an excellent mental illustration of the dementia process
Funny. I felt the opposite. Hah
Same
Me too
After having watched my mother go through dementia, I have promised myself that I will never go through that. If I am ever diagnosed with it I will go ahead and call it a day.
I feel the same way, I don’t want my family members to deal with such sad and exhausting thing
Measure emf levels at your place. Lower them as much as possible. Swimming or putting your head under water, blocking emf, will give a chance to restore your cells. Its there, in silver rooms or bunkers, ouside of a view of a big brother. And run a signal, fear her.
@@blxbrg2169 I thought I was the only one who felt this way. I am having a few memory issues now. I have no idea if it's early onset or normal aging or depression since I have struggled with depression all my life.
However, I think about ways I could do myself in with less impact on my family finding me. .
I am with you on that. I could not put my family through having to take care of me. There should be options for those who want to die.
Please all read about islam ❤
bless all 3 of you, i hope you are thriving...
Im having some of these problems now at 66...and it is scary expecially when you are alone like me...
I hope we find a cure or at least a way to make dementia people only happy. My gramma was diagnosed this month. I am devastated. I made me my life goal to open a dementia village in my country before I die, in a similar model with Holland. I hope I will. They deserve it.
You are a kind person. This is a wonderful idea.
I hope you do
What were her first signs ? How was she diagnosed?
Probably is a cure for everything but only for the rich
I’d be happy to help in way I can
This is what people with coping skills look like. Bravo.
It is so sweet that they are willing to share their stories 💕
I am a nurse's aid, at 56 have become excessively paranoid even forgetting my umbrella scares me now. Have put dementia contingency plans in place if given a dementia diagnosis....3 Hits of LSD a leathel amount of morphine while listening to Ava Marie as I slip out of this world . Have no desire for bingo and balloon games while I suffer fermenting in a diaper. If someone doesn't think this can not happen to them then also very delusional that family will care for you till the end at home. That is rare and why I have a job with unlimited over time. Brain connections are being distroyed Doesnt matter high end low end facility's death is a mercy compared to long term care.
My mum has Alzheimer’s disease. This is the worst so watching my mum suffering from this is the absolutely gut wrenching and sad.i have lost my best friend and the nicest person on this planet. I only wish I could make her well.
I learned how coconut oil mixed in food does wonders for dementia. There's research that show improvement.
I have been dealing with this ever since I was in my 30,s !
Best thing I ever did with my TBI was to take Compensatory Cognitive Training, which taught me ways to function when my memory failed me.
Please keep up with our friends in Video you just watched. They are all a part of Dementia Action Alliance and are speakers at the conference, hold video blogs, informational videos and are extremely encouraging. I read a response below that they are in end stage by now. That is NOT correct. Search them on line. They are AMAZING. They have dementia, but dementia DOES NOT HAVE THEM! I have been blessed to meet each of them and spend time with Laurie while she lived near to me.
Eventhough the path is narrow, we are never alone....
Jesus Christ! The King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Where I live it is really difficult to get diagnosed with dementia. My family and I are sure my sister has it, and the doctors won't do anything, because they have to have her consent. But she refuses. Its really frustrating, but she does have carers going in now, mainly to deal with her medication, which she had got into bother with. She refuses to eat, get dressed, showered, or brush her teeth etc. Doesn't do anything really, just sits watching TV. Even difficult having a conversation, she doesn't answer much or put any input into it. Really sad.
sorry to hear...going thru similar thing with my mom ...maybe your sister is in a depression
How old is your sister? Just wondering because there are mental health conditions that have those symptoms, as well.
My mother and I worked all the BS required by the people who are not dealing with this in advance. Makes it so angry
Make an appointment w/doctor that
deals w/dementia if you notice issues W/ your memory. Make an appt. w/a doctor that can help you.
Better safe than sorry- don't wait!
The sooner u are diagnosed the bette
My neighbor who is also my landlord is starting to act paranoid and rude and unfriendly and she fell twice a couple years ago and she walks with a strange limp and kind of pigeon toed walk now. She is always snooping around and making rude comments when she used to be nice and cool.
Im scared and worried right now after watching this video... I think I’m suffering from dementia😢 please help...
Me too.. I’m only 14 but I’m scared I have early onset dementia because I woke up this morning and I COULDN’T do math. It could’ve just been because it was early and I went to bed late but I’ve been freaking out all day
@@ericasworld6857that sounds perfectly normal, you would be a complete medical anomaly if you have dementia at that age. I sometimes will be speaking and will go blank for a couple seconds and try and repeat what I am thinking of as I know I am losing the thought but I have been told it’s perfectly normal after being check out. Your brain doesn’t always work perfectly just as any other part of your body and dementia it is certainly not something to fear at your age.
@@ericasworld6857 So the thing is that 14 year olds can not possibly developed dementia. I hope your problem gets fixed but it is not dementia.
@@ericasworld6857you dead yet?
This is about explaining dementia in away that your spouse can easily spot it in YOU. Them being certain you have it but not seeing obvious signs in themselves is the first symptom. In their way of looking at it, their odd actions, thoughts and words that a non-professional might call "irrational combativeness" are completely normal. My doctor is over 80 and so I wonder about him diagnosing it correctly.
😊
My mother was just diagnosed any suggestions on how to help her without her being defensive. I want to do everything I can for her
I found some of the online training videos on RUclips helpful (meant for caregivers) for learning how to talk to my dad and understanding what he's trying to communicate to me about his needs and the way he's feeling. He also gets defensive sometimes but learning how to communicate with someone with dementia has helped with that a lot.
People get defensive when they feel like they need to defend themselves, and we defend ourselves when we feel like we're being attacked.
@@NeonCicada thanks so much for the info, I am just adequately prepared for what is coming. According to her doctor she has the rapid decline type. Could be 2 weeks or 2 years. Thanks again
I’m just worried and scared, my mom is the pinnacle of physical health, nobody saw this coming and she has started to pull away from us, I know she’s embarrassed and scared. Everything about her personality has changed. I will check out your recommendation
@@NeonCicada thank you very much
Please have her checked for UTI, it causes bad memory and confusion. Also, b12 levels. There's an Online group called, AgingCare. I learned so much from them, just people that are/have gone through dementia with loved ones. I realized when my beloved mother began accusing me of stealing from her that she had a problem. That's when I found that group.
They forget to eat so make sure she has good nutrition. Don't take it personal when she's angry or cries, just part of the disease. There's a reason it's called the long kiss goodbye, you see your parent become a person you don't know, that' maybe doesn't know you. Good luck.
Symptoms noted in the did seem more advanced than "early" signs. I've heard that the right dose of Omega3's can help as well as phosphatidylserine can be helpful. Undoubtedly some other supplements as well. Functional Medicine doctor possibly a place to start.
I am a retired geriatric nurse and the last 10 years of my career the long term facilities would mix dementia and alzhimers residents with all long term residents and never increased there working staff. This was a desperation for the government stopped paying for the extra staff needed for dementia patients. In my opinion it was and is a gross abuse of staff and residents. As the baby boomers generation gets more and more aged and sick and demented long term facilities are turning in to a nightmare. The streets and abusive family and friends taking care of these people for there social security checks has become the normal today. This is a national problem that both political parties are guiltily of not fixing. There is a new generation of people that are well trained to take advantage of old people for there personal gain.
Biblical Prescriptionforlife is another good resource for dementia and health in general.
I’m so scared 😩 I hope 🤞🏻 I will never get this horrible horrible Disease
I'm having a lot of troubles concentrating during conversations and people just look at me like I'm just lame, making me more anxious. I have issues remembering specific words, it is so embarrassing, I have to put so much effort to appear normal. I cannot longer read a paragraph without messing up.
This year is becoming even more difficult. I'm 27.
hello friend! you probably don't have dementia at your age but you could look into auditory processing disorder, dyslexia, or other learning and language related disabilities. some of your symptoms remind me of that. best of luck 👍
It might be PTSD-related. I have PTSD for years now. I have similar dementia signs.
Could be PTSD, depression, anxiety, dyslexia, ADD... lots of things ! Likely not dementia
This is me!!!😳
Likely processing disorder, maybe PTSD or im thinking some sort of depression. Good luck to you, definitely see someone about it though
We live in such a very stressful world now you can't say people don't worry cos everybody worries trauma everything thrown in a mixing bowl then that puts pressure on the brain.sleeping tablets is a no go that triggers it.
God bless you all ❤️!!!
How do I help my dad get out of his anxious isolation and bubble of negativity?
(he knows it's what's keeping him from getting the support he needs but he can't ask for help and he's said he doesn't know why he fights anything positive in his life. That makes helping him difficult.)
I'm honestly not sure if the right thing would be accepting that he's going to be depressed and lonely for the rest of his life, or if I should try pushing him more to do the things he says he needs to do, but then fights until they go away. We try again but that's not working and he's been getting worse. I just don't want to treat him like a child or like he's sick.
I just want him to not be so lonely and angry all the time, so he can be happy again.
Any thoughts and opinions from other seniors would be greatly appreciated.
I forget what I went into a room for, but my doctor tells me that's normal for my age. Is that any type of Disease? Otherwise I have none of the symptoms mentioned.
That's normal for *every* age bracket.
I've been doing stuff like that since I was a child.
Open the fridge, forgot what I opened it for, close it, turn around and see my cereal, ahh that's right milk!, reopen the fridge, god damnit I forgot again.
Getting ready for school chanting:
PE, togs, towel, lunch, books
PE, togs, towel, lunch, books
huh I have to walk little sister home after school? okay mum
umm
PE, books... drink bottle?
PE, books, drink bottle.
Okay I'm ready!!!
(But I forgot my lunch, togs and towel)
etc
If you haven't had it at all till now in older age... I'd be more likely to say you "won the genetic brain lottery" than I'd be likely to call you unwell.
Literally just ask your friends, I guarantee everyone else regularly forgets what they went into a room for since childhood and you're the outlier for never having it before now.
I literally just did that, I think you are probably ok but if it’s a really concerning thing personally get checked out. If for no other reason, piece of mind
I constantly get it checked along with everything else, I am at that age lol!
Thanks Mel, that sounds pretty much like me lol
I have early adult onset dementia I have done everything right I exercise I've run marathons but I'm heartbroken that I might miss my daughters wedding
Thank you for taking the time to share, Joanne. I appreciate your candidness. You have every right to feel the way you are feeling. You may be interested in exploring the dementia support resources on our site here: spr.ly/6050YkoWk - Janelle M.
LET'S JUST MOVE FORWARD 👍🙏👍🙏
Where my mother is on the Michigan Ohio line it took her three months to get into a neurologist. When she went into the neurologist, he gave her a test where he asked her some questions gave her. Some words to remember, left The room came back and asked some questions and said you have dementia and Alzheimer’s, and you can’t live by yourself anymore he did no other testing. My mother has short-term memory loss that came on all of a sudden ! I believe it’s depression or long Covid, and no the symptoms of Alzheimer’s, dementia we have dealt with it with one of my grandparents. This is behaving differently. I’m lost as to what to do ! She’s having false memories and short term memory loss it’s not flipping over to long-term memory selectively not everything ! It’s exactly like split personality disorder, where one person does not remember the other, and depending on which day depends on which person she is ! Scary
My heart goes out to you and your mother. I have LongCovid and are having Dementia like problems as well. Getting worse. Can’t get into Neurologist at all. LC 2 years now. Can’t drive or care for myself.

Type 3 diabetes. Get lazy, obese, and absent-minded, or give up sugar.
The cholinesterase inhibitors are one of the treatments for dementia
The Cholinesterase inhibitors work by boosting the chemical messages that has to do with memory and judgement.
I'm only 63 😢😢
Literally gave me no information on early stage dimentia.
A lot of people are saying the keto diet has potential for helping. l am looking into it myself, seems it may hold some promise.
Dr Robert morse helped my family . And the starch solution diet doctors are fantastic ..see on tube ..

Consume a spoon of organic coconut oil.
Ah yes… thank you…. My grandad that has late stage dementia is cured 😐 from a spoonful of coconut oil 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐
Not sure how true this is but is worth a try. I am going to be tested very soon. So far I am okay with memory loss, forgetting the names of actual common, every day items. Short term memory loss is more frequent. I don’t know what my diagnoses will be but at the moment I am okay.
Hey, I forgot I had Alztimers. Teagards...
Thank you. I was DX last month with vascular dementia.
