Finally, a counter-tenor! Nothing wrong with the gals but this is more authentic to the times. A lovely, intimate and beautifully recorded take on one of my favorite pieces of music. I am listening to every version on RUclips today just because I can. Thank you!
Just got home from working 10 hours in the hospital and admitting 3 COVID-19 patients. Beautiful music by Handel performed by ABS and video from Grace Cathedral really made my day! Thank you so much.
Dean, thank you for caring for the people who needed your nursing skills, From personal experience i know how grateful the patients and their families are.. may God continue to bless and keep you.
Interesting, the interpretation of "Behold your God!". Not sure about it, but intrigued. Certainly this singer makes me take it seriously, and not as a superficially dramatic but over-emoted stunt.
Magnífica voz de contratenor, gran musicalidad y color de contralto, que bonito registro el grave de Jurenas. No lo conocía, ha sido un descubrimiento. Bravoooooo.
To anyone who is accustomed to think of faith as believing something for which there is inadequate evidence - or none - I'd like to challenge you to actually look up the Bible passages that are quoted or paraphrased in Handel's Messiah. If you do that, I expect you will be able to confidently say, Faith IS the evidence. Hebrews 11:1
I don't understand the fascination with male falsetto singers. This man did a fantastic job, but his sound is weaker with far fewer overtones than an alto. It's also not like there's an overabundance of male solos to fill....
@@da7382 Is it? Listen! 200 - 300 years ago very few men were singing like this. Men like Farinelli who were castrated at a young age. It was not normal and certainly not the intention of Händel when he wrote Messiah.
I had never heard this aria sing by a countertenor before.very good indeed.
A blessed and healing teaching of God's Holy Love thru His Son Jesus the Christ, born of the Virgin Mary. 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Thanks be to God!
Nostalgic. I sang this SOLO in My Church Choir during Christmas Carol Service Years Ago
1/7/24. Wonderful. Thank you for posting this. May God help me and everyone to truly behold God.
Here 10/14/22024. I can’t wait to listen to this music the whole month of December. I love Jesus.
The Messiah is truly a gift from God.

The music is lovely but the best part for me is how much the brilliant soloist looks like he's enjoying himself. It is contagious!
This aria always gives me goosebumps. It's so moving, and the countertenor voice is perfect for it! 🫣 🥶 🤯✨
Soothing music thank you for the good voices the leading voice is God given it reached RSA🎉❤
Großartig! Die Leichtigkeit und dem Charme mit dem er es singt... Bezaubernd!
Was blessed to be able to perform the Handle's Messiah in a university choir even though I was sweating like crazy under the hot spotlights.
Beautiful Alto voice 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Beautiful tonal balance.
One of the best I have come across.
extremely nice bravo
Good performance
A blessing May God be Praised
No, May Handel Be Praised. From your local Athiest,
Magnificently done!
Handel's Messiah is one of the greatest ministries about the birth of Jesus and his wife praise be to God and Jesus and the holy
Nicely sung. Congratulations.

Handel himself actually gave the singers with whom he worked a lot of improvisation leeway.

Extraordinary!
Thank you, Michael. Eric Jurenas has such a secure and thrilling voice. We loved having him in this film.
All glory be to God
Magnificent!
Behold your God! Arise, shine, for thy light is come!
Superlative!
This is the best version I've heard yet. His voice doesn't suit his face at all which makes the surprise even better
I've never hear this by a good countertenor before. I've heard it done by world class female singers, but this works better.
natural!
Alto solo❤️
Praise be to our God❤️
The violinist damn chil

Praise be to God and Jesus about the birth of Jesus and his life Ray's Pizza mother Mary and all the disciples and
American Handel is more muscular than British Handel.
I always thought a contralto sang this song.

Because countertenors and castrati were common in Handel ‘s era, and he often wrote music for them.
Countertenor? No thanks! Not my cup'a tea.
I like boys singing the soprano in a choir. Not grown up men.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me? I don't care if a rutabaga sings it, so long as it does it well. This dude was okay.
I agree

He’s not singing as a soprano. And why do you particularly like boys singing and not men?
