- In this video, I show you how to endorse a check to someone else. If a check has been written to you, and you want to give the funds to someone else, you can do it by endorsing the check to them (it's one of the ways that you can give them the funds). It's actually a simple process and basically involves writing and signing on the back of the check!

On the back, you won't endorse it in the middle of the back of the check. You will endorse it on the back on the right side of the check where the endorsement lines guide you.

It must’ve slipped his noggin to mention it but it’s ok we’re only humans right?? It’s not like we’re some high intelligent extraterrestrial from two planets over that would’ve known exactly what to write on a back of a check when owing your friend for a few months because you’ve been hiding then you have no choice but to him with the check because he’s the one that gave it to you because he was waiting right next to the mailbox smh crazy
@Aday it really actually doesn’t matter. As long as you endorse the check on the backside then it’s legitimate. You just have to make sure who it’s being signed over to is clear and your signature is present. Most checks nowadays have lines intended for endorsements on the back, but they didn’t always have em. Some checks will tell you where not to endorse bc the bank uses that area of the check. Some will tell you where to endorse too, but that really doesn’t matter either.

Not my area of expertise, however I have read that Anthony Rich may have difficulty in depositing this check with his bank. Therefore, it might be a good idea for Anthony Rich to check this with his own bank before you endorse the check to him.
Most checks say don't write below this line. Your saying to write in the middle of the back side. You are supposed to do this on the endorsement lines.
You dont endorse it that way. You sign on the top of endorsement line
Then payable to whomever underneath.

I never do this.. Just sign on the line at the edge of the check... then the second person signs below it. That's how I've always done it

Yes, Anthony Smith has to endorse the check as well. It all MUST be on the right back of the check. This video is incorrect in the location of the "Pay to..." and in omitting the fact that the owner of the check must endorse as well.

What if I already signed my name on the check? And I couldn't get it cashed. Will the other person still be able to sign it and cash it for me?
Pretty much all checks literally have lines for endorsement text and say "do not write below these lines" lmao

I think u missed the point completely. The video was to endorse the check to somebody else not the person on the front of the check 🙄 so for clarity pay to the order of on the back of the check needs to be written in so that they know it's going to that person instead of the one on the front of the check.smdh

you should have taken a real check. On a real check you don't endorse it in the middle of the check but above the line.
Shoshana actually some checks depending on the company wants you to do it how he does it in this video. The method you’re talking about are commonly for personal checks. A lot of business checks and corporate checks such as insurance companies will tell you to endorse it exactly as shown in this video.

This is not fair beacause what if you lose a check and someone finds it and all he really has to do is just fill out the back of the check and sign it himself sense he's gonna see your name on the front check
Generally if you lose a check your kinda screwed and gonna go through a head ache
The bank will ID whoever brings in the check and the name had better match the endorsement. Whoever is getting the check should bring it to their bank and they will ID them and can match the signature to the signature that they have on file.
The Banker/Teller is SUPPOSED to check the ID of the person who the check was originally made out to, make sure the name matches on the front and the signature on the back matches. The original check owner HAS to sign the check first. Then they can endorse it by writing "pay to the order of..."
If there's no signature from the original reciever of the check and if it the signature and the name wasn't crossed check with an ID. Then the banker would have just helped someone commit fraud.
@@mikhailhunter5277 if I sign my check over to someone I shouldn't have to be with them when they take it to their bank. Their bank would check their identification and the funds wouldn't be available until the check clears.

All depends on the bank or credit union that will be cashing it for the person you sign it over to. Call that bank or credit union first and ask.
