In most of my projects the customer picks the item to be installed. I understand the rules and requirements of construction, so I use the required materials to install their items.
I haveva buddy @everydayhomerepairs who did a video about bringing electrical over. Using his video and mine (especially if you have a switched outlet) you can do it. Here is his video ruclips.net/video/5DAoraAh31Q/видео.htmlsi=X6zxNPDiIT_ucx9S ruclips.net/video/nWfEANZOYSk/видео.htmlsi=0_RwPt7xSseK_Mje
I have the same exact install situation. Is it possible to just add the romex wire and box for the light fixture without having to cut out and replace the outlet box? Thank you!
when coming off a GPO to a light you need to keep the same cable size… otherwise the circuit breaker can’t do its job correctly and you could potentially cause an electrical fire and burn down the house… Looks like you ran 1.5mm 2C+E off a 2.5mm 2C+E circuit… because the 2.5mm circuit will have either a 16A or 20A C/B back at the switchboard these breakers are rated to protect the larger 2.5mm power outlets cables… Because 1.5mm cable has a lower current carrying capacity (14A-15A maximum depending on how cable is run) if it were to overheat for some reason because the breaker on the GPO circuit is higher than that current (it’s either 16A/20A) then the 1.5mm cable would basically overheat and even catch fire if there was an electrical fault and the circuit breaker wouldn’t trip etc…. Maybe I saw what you did wrong, maybe you did install the same size cable (cross-sectional area of copper wires) as the GPO circuit, if so just ignore my comment… You can always upsize a cable and not worry about the circuit breaker ratings… but if you ever downsize then you need to always downsize the circuit breaker rating/size as well to prevent electrical fires

best video on this I have seen. Electrical always made me nervous. I put in a bathroom light during a self/solo remodel. So happy. thank you
Thanks for that. There are things I think I could have shown better, but I appreciate the kind words!
This is exactly my project and video I was looking for. Thank you!
Glad it helped. Let me know if you have any questions about anything I didn't cover in the video.
Great video for exactly what I'm looking to do, thanks for sharing!
Glad it helped!!
Amazing video! Thank you for explaining every single step
Glad it helped!
daughter helpd alot reminding you to inform us why you are doing somehing the way you are doing it are why youve chosen a certain material

Glad I could help!
Thanks for explaining so well🙂
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for this!!
Your welcome.
Thanks 🙏
Glad it helped.
Thank you. I’m trying to do the same but not lucky enough to have outlets directly under where I want the fixture😔

It's possible, but the time it would take to fish the wire into the old box, it's just easier to replace it.
Got it thank you!
@Ash12905 Good Luck!!

Great comment. 15A circuit across the board. 14/2.
i s it recommended an electrician do this??

Soooo I’m just gonna call a professional 😭
You don't have the two plugs nearby?
