This Alan Moore Swamp Thing run got me back into comics, then Watchmen, then V for Vendetta.. Read ‘Moore’ Comics!

A further Moore character unexploited by DC is Fever first introduced in Vigilante #17. She was meant to become John Constantine's girlfriend in his Twilight proposal, but has not been seen in a comic since 1985.

that's funny you mention fever. I recently read that vigilante story, and I was sure fever was a character that would appear again in DC because she was so cool and had a unique name, so I was pretty surprised when I looked her up that was like her only appearance.

They really need to publish the ads when they collect comics into trades. That Kmart ad is wild

Omg you sang the Swamp Thing cartoon theme song! I wasn’t the only one who watched that as a six year old lol

In an interview, Alan Moore states that the structure for the 2nd part comes straight up from Crónica De Una Muerte Anunciada (Chronicle of a Death Foretold) by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, where every character tells a bit of the story and the reader connects the dots.

Used to visit Centralia all the time. The town and government also moved incredibly slow to deal with it and missed several opportunities to stop it in time

Alan Moore's Swamp Thing is my favorite comic run of all time and looking through these issues is so great. Have you seen the absolute insult that is the Absolute Swamp Thing editions? They did away with Tatjana Wood's PERFECT coloring and replaced it gross, crisp, digital coloring. Completely ruins the tone of the stories.

The guy with the burned esophagus would have to manually massage the food down his chest. Horrifying stuff but he seemed to be happy to be alive so good on him.

That’s so funny. I was literally thinking about Nukeface and how no one has ever used him even though he is such a cool character and could easily become popular. Not saying he should, though.

As a twelve year old reading these off the stands I found them absolutely terrifying. One of the 80’s many high points.

Same here. I found a coverless issue on the playground when I was 9 and it was scary af

An Alan Moore Justice League run in the 80s is one of the great missed opportunities in Comic book history. His run on Supreme would have been an amazing reboot of the DC Universe

26:10 what Scioli is hitting upon here, is actually what Ram V has developed in the current run of Swamp Thing. (Avatars of ideas). Nukeface is very much the proto-type for The Pale Pilgrim, an avatar of consumption.
