And the Sandra Bullock-starring "Premonition" was the first to be released on Bluray , and her breakout role was in "Speed", from the director of "Twister" (okay, I'm pushing it a bit, lol )
Great movie. Saw it in theaters when i was 15 and was awestruck by how entertaining and cinematic it was. Classic film i'm glad to finally have in 4k. RIP to the GOAT Bill Paxton.
Take. My. Money. I have been waiting a long time for one of the most important films of a generation to receive the proper love it deserves. For all its faults, it has influenced a generation in ways that most can't even comprehend. To those from the film, to those who have preserved its relics, and to those who get it, thank you!!!!! VHS, Laserdisc, SD DVD, Blu Ray, and now this!!! I own them all!!!!!!
Our cousins came in one day & we decided to play this movie for the first time on the dvd without knowing what it was aboyt. It was the 2000s & we were a bunch of kids. And by the end of it, we were thrilled and wouldn't stop talking about it for a long while. Best memory from my childhood!
I was born in 1992 and was too young to see this movie but when I was an older kid probably before 10 yrs old, my mom rented this movie from BLOCKBUSTER!!! I watched it and the tornado sequence at the drivein theater scared me so much I had to stop the movie. I’m older now and I love the movie! I’ve watched it a million times! And I even want my own 1996 Dodge Ram in red and put a Dorothy replica in the back in real life!
I’m glad this movie is getting the 4K treatment. I think this and a couple other movies like the breakfast club should be remastered like this. My mom watched this when it first came out and she loved it. It’s been almost 30 years and we get to watch it again in a totally different format! 4️⃣💎☀️📺📀
Why on earth couldn’t this have been theatrical? I mean, especially with the sequel coming out people who never got to see it in the theater could get that chance. I think it would’ve been really popular.
Just an ordinary girl from pakistan, my dad showed us this movie when we were kids and recently I told him there's another twisters movie that he should watch. He still remembered this one. Life is sweet.
Not many people rememmber this, but Twister was one of the very first movies to be released on DVD. With that said, it would be cool to have this movie re-released on dvd in the same packaging as it's original dvd release
Just rewatched and that third act, starting with the drive-in sequence, was as exciting and intense as an action movie can get! The film really holds up 28 years after its release!
Amazing how in 1996 the special affects are so much more authentic than todays movies. I watch anything in the last 10 years and im immediately hit with obvious CGI. This movie is testament to the hard hard work put into it. Absolute classic, a gem, a diamond, utterly brilliant!!
Yeah partly because modern movies are so bright. I mean that literally. Its too bright. As you can see in this one the storms and tornados are dark and not light up so you can perfectly see them. See that a lot. Newer movies are 4k and the cgi is always bright and detailed but thats exactly what makes it look so fake
awesome movie, and cast, i saw it in theaters back in 1996 5 times, problem is only the last two tornadoes and the close up shots of the first looked accurate. this movie deserves a modern graphics upgrade (but not overdone) "special edition" like with the original star wars trilogy had.
*I like these kind of movies very much, i don't know why indian filmmakers not making these kind of movies, love from india. Keep making this types Movies.* 🇮🇳

Helen Hunt was so gorgeous ❤. When I watched this movie, my life changed a bit. My parents were breaking up and I was doing poorly at school, but this movie showed me a great story, and the OST was killer!!! My love for music has its roots in this movie.
In fairness it doesn't look like they've messed with the look of the movie that much. Maybe more green in the shadows in darker lit scenes, if this trailer is any indication.
@@Cotygeek It's more green during the tornadoes, which is how it should be. Thunderstorms that produce tornadoes in real life, depending on the time of day, turn a greenish hue
Tying Aunt Meg's line about "my cows up front" with the shot of the flying cow is an inspired move. Surprised it hadn't occurred to anyone marketing the movie beforehand! (Unless I'm just mistaken, of course)
The movie brings me so many memories! I love this film and looking forward to the release on physical media! I just wish it was going to get a Dolby Vision 4K release.
@@kjpphotography4764 Just a money issue I suppose, DoVi costs more to license and implement That and I suppose they figured most people who have a 4K player only have one in consoles like the Series X and PlayStation 5 (which don't support Dolby Vision for discs)
Saw it seven times in the theater when it came out. Was insanely awesome on the big screen. Funny thing is, I always want to watch when we have a tornado watch but then don't want to in case I don't hear it if we get an actual tornado. :)
A missed opportunity not releasing this in theaters before the new movie
Yesssss
Right! They probably knew the original would completely spoil the new one. The new one looks like a lame ripoff.
@@abduktedtemplar it's crazy how the twisters still look more real in the 1996 movie than the new one
Im sure you can find a theater playing it before the new movie is out.
@@MrBlue3rd I tried and nothing listed around me
Fun fact: Twister is the first movie to be released on DVD!
And it was the last movie to be released on HD DVD. Very poetic.

I have watched this movie 1000+ times and it never gets old I love this movie
It's worth watching

Twister has badly needed a 4k remaster for so long and it's exciting to see it's finally happening.
I figured they were going to do this and is also the reason they took it off streaming
And the CGI updating
It’s on HBO max
I can't find it@@flatpancakes7106

There is already a Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D mix on the Two-Disc Mediabook Blu-ray.

One of my favourites. I remember when it came out they were making a big deal about the CGi because it was still a new thing for movies.
Dune 2, Godzilla, and Furiosa have been released, with Twisters, Joker, and Juror still to come. Warner Bros is making my 2024 exciting.
1996 was an awesome summer movie season.
Got a place on the shelf for it, right next to my VHS copy.
To celebrate the sequel heres the full hd trailer of the original enjoy! :D
New film isn't related to the original, it's a reboot.
@@DashDonivanIt’s a standalone sequel set in the same universe as confirmed by some interviews with the some of the cast.
