How in the world did I not know that you were the talent behind 2lilowls until RIGHT NOW?? I have purchased your fine art textures many times and I just love using them! I started doing some art classes 2 years ago on Skilkshare because after doing the photography stuff for more than a decade - I wanted something else creative for when I was feeling burned out on the photo stuff… this year my creative photo stuff has taken a dive with all the AI things flooding the market. So I’m shifting further and further into the art things for a while. I’ll still do photo stuff… but this has been so fun with the art classes and now adding the RUclips videos! So glad you are here!! Love your videos, your sense of humor and trying colors out of what you normally use. Moving along with you saying, "I don't know about this" and then after adding marks and stencil turns into a piece of beauty. Have walked away from a piece and returned the following day, add additional color & marks and wow, Beauty. I've bought tempered hardboard at Home Depot or Lowes and gessoed it myself for plein air paintings. You can cut it to any size or have someone cut it for you with a table saw. It winds up being super affordable and you customize the sizes to anything you like. They have it right now for $6.49 for a panel that is 2 ft x 4 ft and 1/8" thick. 1/4" thick is $7.28.
I have some hardboard from Home Depot too. Those are great for art panels! 😊

FYI….you can get Masonite boards at any home improvement store. They come 2ftx8ft or similar for like $20. and they will usually cut them for you to your size for free or .50 a cut. So you can get about four per sheet.
Oh yes, I worked for Home Depot and Lowe’s. I’ve used their boards tons. Perfect size for photography back drop boards too. 😊

Use washing tape. Works wonderfully on all watercolor papers.paint doesn't seep under it. Can also be reused.

You guys have fun painting!! I keep most of the things I paint since I make videos... I store them in plastic art sleeves. Sometimes I need them to photograph and I use them as samples. Some I have framed in my house. I have given a few as gifts. My goal isn't to sell art - so I have not put them up for sale since I might need them again for something. 😊

I do frame my favorites. Most stuff I take to a local custom framer… which gets expensive and I didn’t used to do that. I used to make sure my paper I was working on was a standard size and I would get the premade gallery framing you can find at michaels, or blick, or target. The target frames are probably my favorite. They look the nicest.

I’ve never seen anything else like that brass nib. I use regular nibs too… I’ll get that out and use one of those soon. Fine tip gold pens might be nice. Tiny paint brush in that ink might be good too. 😊
