Not even gonna lie. I've been binging your videos for about two weeks, and I've even started messing around with paint again. I'm not good, but it's weirdly fun. I'm still trying to figure out how your abstracts always look amazing and mine look like a third grader dropped their lunch tray...lol
How in the world did I not know that you were the talent behind 2lilowls until RIGHT NOW?? I have purchased your fine art textures many times and I just love using them! And I love watching your abstract painting videos too. But I did not know until just now as I was scrolling through your list of recommendations and I saw that name pop out and it all clicked... makes total sense now lol. I have even purchased your still life photography lessons from DC and I still didn't realize it lol (I LOVE those lessons btw!!) Thanks for sharing your talent so freely and helping all of us to have a little more creative freedom in our work... it is much appreciated! 😄
I started doing some art classes 2 years ago on Skilkshare because after doing the photography stuff for more than a decade - I wanted something else creative for when I was feeling burned out on the photo stuff… this year my creative photo stuff has taken a dive with all the AI things flooding the market. So I’m shifting further and further into the art things for a while. I’ll still do photo stuff… but this has been so fun with the art classes and now adding the RUclips videos! So glad you are here!! Thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
@@2lilowlsstudio You are most welcome! And I am so happy to be here! I am a jewelry designer by day and an aspiring artist every other moment of time lol. Love your videos, your sense of humor and trying colors out of what you normally use. Hello from B.C., Canada. I just love watching your videos while enjoying my morning coffee. I ordered The Color Scheme Bible and it came in yesterday, I can’t wait to try my first abstract, cause you make everything look so simple and beautiful 😊 Thank you so much for your teaching videos, I appreciate your good humour and laughter!
I've bought tempered hardboard at Home Depot or Lowes and gessoed it myself for plein air paintings. You can cut it to any size or have someone cut it for you with a table saw. It winds up being super affordable and you customize the sizes to anything you like. They have it right now for $6.49 for a panel that is 2 ft x 4 ft and 1/8" thick. 1/4" thick is $7.28.
So true I never went for perfection or creating master pieces and trying to just enjoy the process, and that's why most of my favorite artworks are the ones that I enjoyed making, not because I liked the results.
