  • Assan makes this excellent product to counter the sideslip action of Electronic brake systems for RC aircraft. The AG63Pro is the latest version of this gyro. Not only does the unit control brake sideslip, but it includes nose wheel steering correction as well. Bought mine at BrickCity Hobby!

Good first effort at making a video. I would have loved to have seen a before controller and an after.

Thanks! My jet definitely tracks straighter on rollout than before. I should have filmed a landing before and after. I guess that’s what you mean. Thanks for your comment.

@@dtkristy1 Yup, a before and after is much better than just your analysis. When I was learning video production an award-winning mentor said to watch your presentation without sound and the pictures should tell the story... many years later I add use font too! Good luck.

helpfull video thanks. Did you have to tune the brakes with the end points for brake preassure so they dont just lock up?

No, I did not. Actually, my understanding is that this brake system is not proportional (they are just on or off), but this gyro works perfectly in adjusting for sideslip by braking or not braking each wheel. I get a straight rollout every time and no skidding.

Loved the video. Added bonus was you were using it on a plane I just purchased and using the same radio. Could you share your radio setup and tell me where you got your plane to CG at? Thanks in advance.

I’m sorry for the delay in answering, as I just saw your comment. As I recall, my CG is right at where the manual calls for it. Radio setup is very standard, but I did do a mix of the brake channel with down elevator. I use a Spektrum system, so the methods may be different, but I had to play with the percentages a bit in order to activate the brakes with full down elevator.

I have the brake gyro assigned to my right knob on my NX10. It works. However, the brake activates very quickly and when I have the knob turned from end point (free spinning - no braking) to about 20%. I would like to apply the braking slower (longer travel on the right knob). Did you have the same issue and if so, did you also try to make the travel longer?

The JP brakes are not proportional. On or off. Still, rather than the knob, I would use a mix with down elevator. Much more natural!

I’m not at all familiar with the AG68. Sorry I can’t help you there.
