This culture has near limitless dessert creations, probably one of the largest, so that should've been an easy one. Btw, I think the people have a sweet tooth. 3) Entreé: Mofongo- Isn't specific to Dominican cuisine; is also native to Puerto Rico; should have stuck with plain, ol mangú or asopao. 4) Iced sweets: Helado, in other words, "ice cream", should have been *junjún* , similar to a snow cone, saturated w/ sugary, heavy syrups; typically are fruit-based with flavors of the Caribbean island's exotic fruits,,,,tamarind, guanabana(prickly pear) or passion fruit. Whoever does not like Dominican food is nuts
Mangú is Dominican but Mofongo is from Puerto Rico, just as the Malta India they were drinking. BTW those ice creams (the 'Helados') is in all of the Caribbean Islands.
And by the way, I did live in the Dominican Republic during the 80's and early 90's.
They should include on their next dominican show the dominican style dumplings, which are very different from the asian ones. Those with the dominican style salami and cheese sauce is a special dish which I haven't been able to get outside of the island.
Definitely have to hit up queens for Colombian food !
