BOTW had the better music and general visual composition. in TOTK though we have PACKED amount of things. so much going on. not a complaint, i loved it
I agree but I prefer to say it's because the old trailer relies on the fact you don't know what the game was until that point, know that we know it piece by piece it doesn't affect us the same as something the same quality for a new game we have yet to play
@@Chris_1508well it was because the Zelda fanbase wasn’t as big as it is now and since Nintendo was introducing the idea of an open world Zelda game they didn’t even know how well the game will do but since the Zelda fan base doubled in size since BOTW came out so Nintendo knows that they have higher expectations for TOTK so they are keeping information of the game as limited as possible
Many of the past games trailers were better, lets not have goldfish memories. Skyward sword switch launch trailer as an example is better. One that goes for 2.31 on Nintendo UK RUclips channel. Epic trailer, if you want dungeon and story confirmation in a trailer without giving too much away, watch that. Plus overall the trailer was just better with what they showed.
When I first watched the BOTW one, I was like, "Wow. they really went all in on this one." But after watching the TOTK one, I can't help but feel that BOTW seems a bit empty. But at the same time, I kinda think that is one of the vibes of BOTW. You know, serene, quiet, stuff like that.
That feeling of emptiness may be because many of the plot points in the trailer were memories, not something you experienced first hand. Then again, maybe the same applies to TOTK.
They knew exactly what they were doing editing the TOTK trailer in a similar way to the BOTW trailer. That trailer completely blew us all away and when I saw it for the first time, 6 years ago, my hype for a game that I was already incredibly hyped about shot up to astronomical levels. They knew how special that feeling was and I'm so glad that they have managed to recapture it, and dare I say exceed it. TOTK is going to be a masterpiece.
Literally two of the best trailers I’ve ever seen in my life…I’m absolutely BLOWN AWAY by them both. The music in the ToTK trailer is incredible. To say the least.
Lol agreed, the music in the old trailer is unparalleled. Although the music after Zelda says link until the ganon part in the totk trailer is also amazing. Overall, we eating good!
You can tell that with BotW their main focus was the openness and scope of the world, while with TotK they focused mainly on what’s different and how you can tackle that new world. They really know how to present their games
It's funny looking back at the Breath of the Wild trailer, all the things that seemed mindblowing at the time now feel normal through the thousands of hours I've played the game. Will TotK eventually feel the same way? Perhaps, but for now it feels like that first trailer all over again
It seems as though we will have more hours to put into ToTK considering how huge the map is now, and the possibilities that Links new abilities bring... But sadly some day, perhaps 1 or 2 years after the eventual DLC, we will have seen it all. Until then, let's enjoy this game to the fullest, take it all in, and have fun!
With such content absolutely PACKED into this new game, I hope it doesn't lose all of it's low key charm. I hope the game doesn't lose all of that innocence from trying to push the envelope... I don't want to sacrifice the basics just to make way for the new stuff.
@@July8th I hope you're right. I feel like at least some of the slower elements are going to have to go to the wayside to make way for the faster gameplay this game seems like it might have, and the broader easier forms of traversal like now literally being able to elevate to extreme heights at any time. It means most players will spend even less time walking from place to place now vs just gliding to them, which is pretty much what I always did anyway when traversing long distances lol. The very top of the Dueling Peaks was one of the best launch points in the entire game for me! It gives access to pretty much all the main & important areas of the game for a large part of it at least. Am getting off topic but ya I think ya get my point.
@mu428this opinion is cringe. In all seriousness, I think the sky islands and underground sections will give you what you seem to want i.e. more condensed and tightly designed areas. So sort of like the shrines in BOTW, but with more visual appeal and more seamlessly connected to the overworld. Those mechanics would be useless if you didn’t have any meaningful space to experiment with.
It is awesomely uncanny how some parts of each trailer like perfectly line up with each other. Like when the triforce blast is being fired or when the malice shoots into the sky and zelda is crying or even both parts when zelda talks (and when daruk says here it comes and the malice attacks links arm lmao)
Both of them are absolutely marvelous. The music @ 5:36 (BOTW) is the reason why i have the trailer music on my playlist. The music @2:50 is also pretty fire. Honestly, I like TOTK's overall music better, but the best part for me is 5:36
Let me just settle this debate once and for all lol. The new trailer in terms of what it showed is objectively better but the botw music in that trailer is unparalleled and can never be surpassed in my opinion. The new music is good but it only gives me chills from the bit when link is riding the bird to the ganon bit, whereas the music in the og trailer is just absolutely amazing and hype inducing throughout. Two absolutely amazing trailers, we eating good Nintendo fans!
I like both, but the new TOTK trailer is just perfect. I am so hyped and i really like the soundtrack much more (the BOTW soundtrack is also really good). At first the game just looked like a „DLC“ or something, but there is so much more stuff, i am so exited.
Samee I was waiting just fine, occasionally thinking about how the game will come out quite soon And then they drop this kind of trailer and I physically CAN'T wait any more
I thought I somewhat preferred the TotK trailer over the BotW trailer, but after seeing them side by side, I've made up my mind. BotW Nintendo Switch Presentation trailer, I love you, but TotK definitely takes the cake here, hands down.
It's a dumb thing to fixate on, but I'm SO GLAD that Link's Champion's tunic outfit actually has leather armor pieces and CHAINMAIL under it for TotK. Like, even goofy SS Link had chainmail under his green tunic, so I didn't understand why BotW Link had basically just a t-shirt for his main set. (Note: I love SS Link's goofiness, that isn't an insult.)
Smart move putting the old trailer last, so that we can have a truly subjective view & not automatically decide with the one we just saw last, but still, I think we have a new king of the throne w TOTK. It outdoes the original for me, probably because most of us are already so invested & know what's at stake this time around.
2017 is a perfect trailer- I am not referring to content or anything we may or may not like about the game; I am strictly speaking of editing, pacing, natural building, rising and falling ....the art of the trailer- it is all there the new one is great- but it isn't perfect- 2017 was perfect
I still liked the BOTW trailer, it still gives me the goosebumps, especially on how it takes time to appreciate the scenery before cutting to the next scene. However that is not to say TOTK trailer is not that good, It's made that way since people already knew the sceneries and it is for showing what's new, what's changed and what's next.
I seriously like Link in his Green Tunic better. I’m really upset he didn’t wear it in this upcoming game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Notice the music: In the BOTW trailer, they tease the first couple notes of the OG LOZ theme song. In the TOTK trailer, we hear the OG theme, but only half of it. I feel like they’re gonna have a THIRD GAME in this series making it a trilogy. And that last trailer will have the OG theme play from start to finish, hearing the heightened progression of notes to end this series once and for all
I like Breath of the Wild's final trailer more, but nostalgia is playing a part in that Maybe years from now, I'll find Tears of the Kingdom's final trailer to be better Both are undeniably excellent though

You don't have a chance. (TotK: 2:47, BotW: 6:13; Down/Turns) 6. We have hope, we don't give up and beat you. (TotK: 3:01, BotW: 6:40; Up/Loop/Arrive) You can sync the trailers at the turn points to see... Just click on the timestamps. My highlights in TotK: 2:07 The sax with asian erhu touch at 2:28. 3:01 Drums bridge with peak emotions. My highlights in BotW: 5:35 Rising emotions with peak at 5:54 6:40 Final peak with nostalgic emotions. Interesting, the exact same points are my highlights. This is because the trailers are scripted the same. The composers know how what they do and how to trigger emotions. But the impact and the associated feelings are subjective and depend on experiences and life situations. And also how the individual hears and processes the sounds. Music is very important and Zelda has really great ones. Both trailers have the same structure. BotW is more calmed and dramatic and TotK more dark with action. But we can see that both trailers are very identical, which you might not think of unless you compare them. So I think most viewers are voting for TotK just because it's been released recently and in comparison have partially mature scenes. I'm tend to BotW, but both are really good. I just hope the game will be as good as the trailers. A few more weeks and we can play it.
10:20 is a gut punch when you think of the cyclical nature of Gannon ruining their lives. Seeing Gannon once again back and spawning enemies while Zelda cries after saying everything she has done was all for nothing hits so hard. Like they just can’t win.
Both trailers are amazing. Though I prefer the TOTK trailer because of the music and everything is just so amazing to watch. But I also like the BOTW trailer as well. Both trailers were so cinematic!
It's like Nintendo heard every criticism and said okay TAKE THIS! Dungeons, more bosses, more story, more abilities, more opportunities to be creative and use your imagination, more characters and interaction, Ganondorf is back, you can upgrade and increase weapon durability by fusing things you find, IT'S EVERYTHING AND MORE!
Been a huge zelda fan since i was about 4 ish, when the first video game I ever played was Ocarina of Time on the collectors edition disc on Gamecube. I did play Mario and Pokémon and Crash and Sonic and other stuff too from then on, but the first game I ever played and got invested in, was Ocarina. And Now i’m going on 24, and STILL a huge zelda fan and getting excited like a child on christmas for every new installment, even all the remakes and re-releases we’ve gotten in the last decade. I cannot help but feel TotK will be even better than BotW ever could’ve hoped to be, and be some sort of huge milestone in the series. Similar to avengers endgame. I think TotK will be a huge hurrah moment in the franchise, the big explosion that has been building up game after game, innovation after innovation after all these years. I don’t think this will be just a great zelda game. I think this has the potential to go down as THE zelda game. THE Zelda game to finally dethrone Ocarina of Time’s long long lasting reign.
I liked the BotW trailer more because it kinda laid out what the plot of the game was going to be. I feel like I'm still unsure of what TotK will be about other than Ganondorf awakening and things rising into the sky
There should be a Legend of Zelda RPG that’s similar to Dragon’s Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur, Fenyx Immortal Rising and Hogwarts Legacy where you can create your own Hylian, Goron, Zora, Rito, Kokiri, Sheikah and Gerudo and go out on an adventure to save Hyrule as the new Chosen Hero. Side note, when doing the whole character customization part, there’s only a male Goron and female Gerudo.
Imma say it and probably be very wrong. TOTK has time travel. We've seen Zelda fall one too many times. Someone catches her once. In the other trailers he fails. In one of the early trailers the green hand grabs someone's hand (assuming someone is link in both instances). Someone's right hand grabs the master sword. That can't be Link's hand, since he's lost his right hand. It could be him if footage is mirrored or it's a "different Link". When they didn't show who was grabbing it, my almonds activated.
I dig the new music, but I honestly would have liked to hear just a BIT more of that original LOZ theme mixed in! What is there was so fitting but ended just a bit too early!
I gotta say. After all the work they put into these two games to break away from the Zelda mold, it is hard to imagine what their next game will be like. Will they keep the same style now to further break the Zelda mold?
The took one looks more interesting but it's only because we haven't purchased the game yet. I'm sure when all of us will have it, we will find the trailer more normal. Not saying that botw's trailer is bad it's just that... I haven't seen it before the game heheh... But looks great! 👏👏👏
Uh.... The last part didn't even make any sense. What was that even about? It's just the two vids put side by side with the BOTW audio playing. What's the point of having just the BOTW audio?
Nintendo are master with these games they haven't been around 30 plus years for nothing. And to think MP remastered would probably won game of the year if not for TOTK Nintendo sending the switch out in the same style they brought it in with
Not a fan of either of the trailers. I prefer BOTW trailer more because TOTK has explosive music and seems to shove so many things in a single trailer; the ambience is less.
The TOTK trailer was more impactful because when the BOTW one first released, the voices were in Japanese, and the English version didn’t come out until later.
My man, do so. And you won’t be seen for probably close to a year. But it is sooooo worth it. There’s hints of almost every Zelda game before it. I still find myself going back to it just to ride around and enjoy the majestic sceneries.
They are both incredible but if you don’t want to spend money on the first you could always g just look into the storyline for it or you could wait and play the first one and get the second when you finish.I absolutely loved it and it’s so worth buying botw.
@@July8th That’s boring to me when the other Zelda games offered something for the exploration. Finally, the point is to save the Princess and so it won’t matter if you “Remember” or not. Still, I’ll need to play BotW before going into ToTK.

Side note, when doing the whole character customization part, there’s only a male Goron and female Gerudo.
yoooo the way zelda and zonai lady held their hands out at the same time
Imma say it and probably be very wrong.
When they didn't show who was grabbing it, my almonds activated.
it prob doesn’t mean anything but at 10:38 the woman we don’t know and zelda activate their power at the same time in both trailers.
No matter how cool totk is, I will always forever love botw
tears in my eyes watching the totk trailer. truly a masterpiece
That Ganondorf looks like TP Ganondorf, what do you think ?
I dig the new music, but I honestly would have liked to hear just a BIT more of that original LOZ theme mixed in! What is there was so fitting but ended just a bit too early!
These two are literally some of the best trailers ever made for anything honestly.
TOTK. This could lop the timeline.
Awesome!!!Big Like 🌟💗
I gotta say.
I hope this time the music will be in the game, not like BOTW where the epic music of the last trailer never got into the game
you should show both trailers to someone who hasn't seen either and ask which game they would play.
the new trailer slaps people who say it is just dlc in the face a million times
I just hope they fix the healing sys to make combat interesting
TOTK infinitely more goated, copers will deny
I realized that the french version of ganondorf's voice is better than the english version :o
Uh.... The last part didn't even make any sense. What was that even about? It's just the two vids put side by side with the BOTW audio playing. What's the point of having just the BOTW audio?
I’m going to try to not put of fighting Ganon (or whoever the final boss will be) for 6 years in totk
Ah yes, the amazing trailers with amazing soundtracks that don't appear in the actual games
If the game doesn't include that saxophone part whenever link was flying on the bird thing I'm gonna be pissed
@@SIsReal Fr bruh
I love Zelda's choker, and also her new outfit that shows more of her shoulders and chest.
I think totk is the bettwr trailer but there could be some recency bias
Nintendo are master with these games they haven't been around 30 plus years for nothing. And to think MP remastered would probably won game of the year if not for TOTK Nintendo sending the switch out in the same style they brought it in with
Breath of the Wild all the way. The trailer & the game.
You can tell they knew that the fans were tired of all the ambience from the last game. They’re leaning way more into the intensity
I hope you are right
Well this is just the trailer music, it doesn't reflect what the soundtrack will be like tbh
@@lpstweetytv5242 yeah but even the trailer is leaning more toward that, Same for the main theme. Just listen to it
Ready for new 900 korok seeds!?
Hahaha… I stopped at 679. Might buy the book to find the rest.
The reason they took so long is because they were working on 14,000 new seeds obviously
It's crazy how underwhelming TOTK makes BOTW look now
I’m so excited
Oh God! I’m going MIA for the next couple of months after this game lands in my hands. It seems like they’ve outdone themselves again.
10:37, coincidence?
BotW walked so that TotK could run.
We all know BearsBear has already 100% this game and moved on to the next one 😂
Totk will just be aggressively better
Totk better content, Botw better music score
Not a fan of either of the trailers. I prefer BOTW trailer more because TOTK has explosive music and seems to shove so many things in a single trailer; the ambience is less.
Hi
totk
The TOTK trailer was more impactful because when the BOTW one first released, the voices were in Japanese, and the English version didn’t come out until later.
Fourth
Stole Eizenstein's idea
Zelda BOTW > Zelda TOTK
I haven’t played Breath of the Wild so I cannot play Tears of the Kingdom.
@@Emily12679 It’s different when you play it compared to watching it. I know the story by watching it but it feels more involve playing it. That means playing BotW first.
@@MisteRRYouTuby are you kidding me? I wasn’t concerned with saving the princess for the first 3 months of playing because all I was doing was looking for korok seeds and the next landscape to explore. Somehow I remembered there was this objective I needed to accomplish.
