Thank you so much for posting this helpful video. I am in an online / distance Anatomy and Physiology class due to the pandemic and am needing to learn about this virtually...and this has made all of the difference! 🙂🙏🏻

    Initial set-up:
    1. Plug & Switch on
    2. Adjust Rheostat - 80% light intensity
    3. Place slide on stage & center using
    stage controls
    4. Turn Coarse focus Knob to highest
    5. Turn Condenser focus knob to highest
    6. Turn substage Condenser or Iris
Diaphragm knob LEFT so that max
amount of Light is passing through.
    Additional steps for Kohler Ilumination:
    7. Use 10x Objective Lens first.
    8. Adjust coarse focus knob to bring
    specimen into focus.
    9. Turn Field Diaphragm knob full LEFT
    10. Adjust inter-pupillary distance &
    ocular focus.
    11. Use centering screws to bring circle
to the center of the field of view.
    12. Adjustment to Condenser focus
    knob - tiny hairs length.
    13. Open Field Diaphragm by adjusting
knob - so that the illuminated circle
is just beyond the field ofview.
    14. Remove one eye piece & adjust
    Numerical Aperture by adjusting the
    Condenser (Iris) Diaphragm knob to
    0.25, 0.65, or 1.25 as shown below:
    (10x = 0.25NA)
    (40x = 0.65NA)
    (100x = 1.25NA)
    15. Use the Fine focus knob to fine tune.
    -----------------------
    16. Repeat steps 14 & 15 each
    time ...when switching to higher
objectives. No need to fiddle with
    Coarse focus knob at higher
    magnifications. And re-adjust Rheostat
to comfortable setting for prolonged use.
    Note to self & others
    - With love, from Canada.
