Nine Inch Nails - Live - Full Show - Backstage - NIN|JA - Camden NJ - June 5 2009 (Multicam)

- Multicam with rare backstage shots for several songs.
I was fortunate to have backstage access after donating to the Eric De La Cruz fundraiser that Trent was running at the time, and filmed some of the show both front and back stage with a Canon 5D Mark 2 and 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM lens. The second source video came from a source I don't remember -- downloaded it from somewhere in 2009 (If any one knows who to give credit for the second source, let me know). Video is "okay" quality, and a bit shaky -- but AFAIK, backstage video of NIN is very rare, so I think it's worth releasing. Audio has been replaced with higher quality versions (Matrixed from TJ Samulis and Benny Blanco sources from ninlive.com)

oh man, I was at this show and remember it fondly. I lived in Yonkers and my father agreed to drive me to the concert even though I only had one ticket so he had to wait in the parking lot. As a foolish teen I bought the ticket thinking Jersey is not far away at all, without realizing where Camden was exactly. We got lost on the way there and I was so nervous that we'd miss the whole show. Found our way eventually and I literally found my seat the second Nine Inch Nails went on so it worked out perfectly. I was 15 at the time and went for Nine Inch Nails. Did not know Jane's Addiction really but went and bought Nothing's Shocking the week afterwards because I enjoyed their set so much.
I was here for this show. Amazing set and I am so glad I can relive it. Nails is totally different live vs the album and I love both! Thank you for letting me relive this!

@@viewfromtherail Never heard NIN play that Saul Williams track without Saul before! Even though TR made some mistakes, as he mentioned... there are some really great renditions of a few classics in this performance!
@@DichotomousRex Yep. It was a great show. Honestly, I kinda like when there are mistakes -- it's great seeing how well the band is at recovering from them, so that only the "superfans" would even notice that a mistake was made.
Also, having the multiple angles (front stage/back stage) for the songs towards the end gives for a very unique perspective on what's going on behind all the fog.

Curious. Unlike many bands Trent uses camera guys literally running around the stage with band. Was. That something u were also doing and I know he’s a perfectionist. Was there a lot of filming rules .

@@justinericks8868 I was never allowed actually "on stage". There were a number of people who were given VIP access for donating to the Eric De La Cruz fundraiser, maybe 50 people in the group, and groups of like 10 at a time were cycled backstage. we were basically told "When you hear this song, head backstage". When we got backstage, we were told to stay behind a taped line on the ground, which was basically just behind the stage lights, and parallel with the speakers.
In some parts of this video when I am in the pit, you can see others backstage behind the drummer (Ilan Rubin). Technically it was all honor policy, and you could have easily walked on stage, but everyone was good about following the rules.
This happened at every show on the tour.
Up until this point in his career, Trent was actually pretty cool with fans, and there were a number of stories of people meeting him on the street before/after a show, at a restaurant, or as he was leaving the venue, etc ... At some point around this time period, maybe 2009 or 2010 (I forget exactly), a group of jealous girls started sending some nasty comments, threatening Mariqueen, and since then, Trent has been much more guarded about his privacy.

Trent messing up The beginning of the end was totally awkward! I don’t know how he got lost like that in the intro, it might go down as the worst Trent flub I’ve ever seen!
