I picked up the sigma pro mini about a month ago. My wife was not happy seeing it cost $1700. Well we were at an estate sale and they had a belt with 30 Morgan dollars on it. Well at the time that was like $1000 worth of Morgan dollars. They had it priced at $1500. I was going to try and talk him down first but I had my sigma with me. So I asked if I could test it. The guy said sure and was really interested in how the sigma worked. Well they all tested fake. Before testing them I was telling my self that if I could get the guy down to $1000 I would take them. Turns out the guy running the estate sale owned a pawn shop and brought the belt with him trying to off load it as estate sale property so he would not be held liable if the buyer found out they were fake. That tester paid for it self that day. I use it a lot for sterling silver as I buy that and then melt it and then take it up the road to pinehurst coins.
The Larger pro is alot better machine. I had the pro mini but it seemed a bit flimsy and i found the sensor to be sometimes tempremantal or inaccurate. The pro is just better made, faster and more accurate.I sent the pro mini back and got the pro couldnt be happier.

Boys i'm Canadian and new to stacking and I have the money to buy a monster box of silver maples. Is this a dumb decision considering its gonna cost me like 18k CAD?
Quick story. In 1981 I was in Angola. (Don't ask) I saw first hand what happens when society breaks down. A man with a bucket of fish could own a town. I man with a bucket of gold or silver was hungry. The guy with the fish, he didn't want "Money" or "Currency" He wanted goods. Matches were always a way to break the ice and get a deal going. Just for shits and giggles, take a couple OZ and try to fill up your tank with gas. If you can't Smoke it, Eat it, Drink it or Shoot it, DONT buy it.
@@MG-ul4kc I will hunt him up next time I need a well drilled! Actually my Grand Dad was a water well driller and took gold and gold watches for wells. :-)
Pro mini is awesome but.... If you are selling silver online and want to show proof that it's real silver you can take a picture of the coin on the Sigma but with the mini it can easily be faked. Take a screen shot of a good test. Hard to tell if that phone is connected to the Sigma. I still like mine
You are damn right down there. Customers can always say that the software is rigged by the seller. I rather get the Investor since the price is so close.
However, a coin does not have a serial number. The customer can always dispute that it is not the same coin being tested. If I am selling a small 1oz or 10oz bar, the serial number and the sigma readings will give a good, indisputable proof of its authenticity.
