Surface finish depends on your ball endmill radius and stepover. So if the model allows it, use the biggest radius endmill you can and adjust the stepover for it. For example you got a 1mm radius with 0.15mm stepover, it will have the same surface finish as a 2mm radius with 0.21 stepover. It is: stepover squared/8 x radius With that you can find your optimum settings
