@ifureadthisdie The real challenge is that you have to draw it fast and accurate enough that the ingame game code does not check your unfinished result. Rediculous actual ; its a parody of character recognition.
The player figured out how the game's number detection system works, so they drew pictures of random characters and such in such a way that the game would recognize them as the number that is the correct answer to the problem.
everyone keeps asking how did they do this, me included and the only answer we have is "This run shows you how you can abuse the number recognition program by secretly drawing the number answer in each picture" so where exactly? i dont know.. there were supposedly pictures included with that answer previously, but they are no longer available, so the details of where exactly the secret answer is will remain a mystery
Incorrect. He draws it in such a way that it can't recognize anything in the picture as a number until right at the end, then finishes the picture by drawing something recognizable as the correct answer.
But this game came first. That's like saying Olimar should have been in the original Smash Bros. or Tails in Sonic 1; how is a character that hasn't been created yet supposed to be in an earlier game? Sure, it's a TAS, but how would Gen 5 Pokemon and characters like Daroach be right answers in a game made in 2005-2006? That's what I don't understand.
Well, you could have said that in the first place. I know next to nothing about Brain Age; the most experience I've had with it is the microgame in WarioWare Smooth Moves.
I don't understand why you took a 256p resolution video, scaled it up to 1080p, and then compressed it to the point where there are disgusting artifacts throughout. Why not just stick with a lower resolution to begin with?
Oh wow, uhm... this wasn't happening before. I don't know what RUclips's done, but it's recompressed the video badly. It was NOT like this in 2011! Is there any way to 'reupload' a RUclips video without it being a new upload?
@@flygonbreloom I don't know. My guess is that the algorithm recognized that the video had been upscaled and thus made a very flawed attempt to greatly increase the compression ratio. There might not be a way to fix it at all without a reupload, but I can't say for sure.
@@flygonbreloom Sincerely though, my suggestion is not to massively upscale videos in the future, as apparently is standard protocol on tasvideos. There is no reason for classic games to be upscaled to 1080p. It does not improve the quality, and if anything, it actually degrades it. I know that by increasing the resolution, you can more closely approximate a power-of-two divisor of the original resolution, but that's not a good enough reason, as you see here. Try the eye test: if no human can tell the difference between the higher and lower bitrate encode, prefer the lower bitrate every time.
I haven't uploaded videos for years. And the only reason they're this HD is for the 60fps mode - Shit don't exist in 480p. Go yell at tasvideos.org . :P
I demand an explanation.
He had the best math teacher of all time, wish I had that math teacher growing up.
정말 대단하십니다..... good
This is just so awesome in so many ways that I don't even know where to begin. Seriously.
The best TAS to date.
@hwnzero It's legitimately reading those as the numbers. It's one of the quirks of text recognition; it assumes everything is a legitimate number.
@SpiderWaffle It's the world map in Pokemon 1st generation (blue/red/yellow)
@HoneycombAgent Think that's supposed to be Sheik (from Zelda) in a rather agile pose.

Happy birthday, you're 199 today!
How do you delete data on Brain age for nintendo DSi XL? I am getting rid of mine and I dont want it to be full of pics.
Teacher: Jan, what is 18 - 9?
Me: Tetris
Totaly worth it.
@SpiderWaffle That is the map of Kanto
it was fun watching the video and trying to name as many characters/items as I could :D

is it a video game culture quizz ?
at 4:46, what was the reference?
I'm never failing Math class again.
The DS approves of your drawings.
This got the funny TAS of 2011 award.
This is like one fucking amazing 199 year old.
...I think we now know where the guys who made the Family Feud SNES game ended up.
Developing Brain Age 2.
...I think we now know where the guys who made the Family Feud SNES game ended up.
8 times 3 is the entire Kanto region.
I think I hit enlightenment.
Does it count if I know what that is even if I forget the name?
Walking speed though?
"Happy birthday! Today you're 199 years old!"
Ryuto: trolololol
did he just summoned a hell demon?
I know, I was replying to a comment about this being the fastest run that has since been deleted.
it'd be fastest just to randomly place a dot, and re-record until said dot is the right answer.
Well, back when he was younger, 4+6 equaled whatever the hell he wanted it to equal
i hope you guys know that hes drawing and then just punching it in rather than using the picture.
@AeonCommander actually you did fail, it's 4x6
WA! 한국인!
This guy is a genius!
Last time he did it in bicycle speed. :D
Apparently (based on old comments) people think it's slow.
what do you mean 8 times 6 isn't CAPTAIN FALCON?
how the hell does a nintendo 64 controller equal 18!
how is this even possible
Ah, so this is how we'll think in the year 2099.
i gotta say that's some drawing skill though.
Happy birthday! Today, you're 199 years old! hahahaha
2:45 The TAS came out AFTER Squeak Squad! Huh.
2:45
but it's a tool assisted run so you can't do this normally
BOING! WE ALL ARE MR 11. ZOOM!

Can someone explain this to me...?
Zach Harris i dont underst either
Of course

those aren't numbers those are drawings how is he getting it right
Well technically if you could draw the picture fast enough you might be able to, I don't know that the picture has to be as fast as the game shows.
another proof that "recognition" as a long way to go. (at least before being "low-cost")
2:45 Squeak Squad came out AFTER this game! Huh.
Okay guys, everyone go home, the internet's over.
Very Enjoyed
So.. Heard of Nintendo?
i told my teatcher that 2x4 was lugia, she yelled at me :(
Even like Pokemon, Mario, Fire Emblem and etc.

4+6 = Samus Aran? I knew it! So I didn't fail my math exam after all!

Kanto's Town Map.

You know your game is defective if FULL STAGES AND/OR ARENAS tend to equal 11, 4, 3 and 9 respectively.
My life has no meaning.
Hipnotizing
1 x 4 = Minuet of Forest.
7 x 9 = Ganondorf
5 x 8 = Dragoon
8 - 2 = Samurai Goroh
1 + 4 = Geno
How have I been so blind to the truth?! Everything I know is wrong! D:
4:45 pokemon kanto map!
I don't really get what's so funny about this video. This is all just the basic math you learn when you're 8 years old. Of course 6-4=hookshot. C'mon!
Ill keep that in mind, 4+6 = Mario
But where's the fun in that? :3
A LEFTIE. WIN.
4 times 6 is Samus! lol
Shit... i said falco... I KNEW 8+6 = GULLIVER!
I'd agree this person is 199 if they think 4+6=mario
21...
DrawSomething you say
Snivy Stage 90
I tried using these answers on my test and i failed...thanks, jerk.
Dragon Quest
10 - 4 = NESS
1+2 = Mew
8+2 = Mew, two
Or you could just use numbers...
Me too
@sepherafa PFFTHAHAHA
Good point. :D
1:29 SSB
4 + 6 = mario
3+3= Lapris
How teh fuck
9-4=Blue Falcon???
My life is complete.
3+3=lapras
Ho-oh 9×5 = 45
