      Have you ever been to Cuba ? The vast majority of cars from the 50's and 60's are just shells of what they used to be. TONS of modifications, just to keep them functional. I've even seen cars that had the drive trains and interiors removed and were being pulled by donkeys and horses ! It is like visiting some kind of surreal time warp. I truly feel sorry for the people though. They deserve a lot better.

    • @PeterSedesse
      @PeterSedesse 6 месяцев назад

      @@tonyfulford3175 Yeah, they are definitely incredibly resourceful to keep those cars running. But my point was that these were cars that were built before there was any concern with fuel millage. If you are going to increase the price of gas by 500%, it hurts even more when your cars are all gas hogs.

      They don't want that otherwise they'd have done so and overthrown Castro in the 60s, they would have left enmasse after the missile crisis, they could have left in the Marial Boat Launch, they could have left when Fidel died, they could have left when the USA started to normalize SOME relations of travel with Cuba, and yet there they are, complaining. We have a better chance of Puerto Rico becoming a state sooner than Cuba being free or able to demonstrate ability to have diplomatic relations with the West.
