You turned the camara awayy just as ORMONDE was coming through the tunnel to go to the stables..he was 4th horse...
@@AnitaBowman-wl7gv Rare example of me doing something 'prematurely' ...
ATC is Air ? Corps , maybe Training , I'll look it up
That was a frightening moment for the crowd. As a child, growing up during WW2, horses were everywhere. Our grocer, coalman, and general merchant all used horses for their daily/weekly deliveries. As did the local brewer who Mondays delivered to the pub to deliver massive casks of beer. It was my job to collect the horse droppings for our garden. Fascinating times long gone.
As a child of the 50s/60s, I remember the old Rag and Bone man with his cloppy skewbald.
Happy days 😊
@@suzerogowicz Rag and bone man , fruit and veg man he came round after my bedtime but for that night I was allowed to stay up to see the horse 😍. My parents shop was just along the road from a wood yard they had a massive horse ( though every horse is massive when you're a little one 😀) probably a Shire who I used to insist on visiting . Parents didn't dare tell me when he wasn't there any more so said he'd retired to live in a big field too far away to visit , I cried 😐
Happy horsey memories, I remember our milkman in London running down the road yelling at his horse to stop as he used to dash to the houses deliver the milk and the horse would just walk on slowly but occasionally he liked to go at a trot and the poor milk man could not keep up. He was a big fluffy horse and I am sure he would have been laughing at the poor milky chasing after him. Just a reminder too that there were very few cars in the road. We also had the rag and bone men with their horses and I seem to remember the coal man too! We usually had carrots ready for them all.
.
@@JoeS-n8z 😄😄😄
@@kathellison8084 Ours came round on Saturdays, and we always had a carrot or apple for the horse 😁
Ormonde is ALWAYS the star of the show!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 xxxxx
The trooper handled the horse expertly, well done to him. Makes you realise how dangerous it could be if the horse isn’t a happy bunny.
4:26 p.m. In regards to horses biting; have you or friends watch their ears? The ears are the barometer of the mental state of the horse. I have been riding since around age 3-4. I grew up on an Iowa USA farm. Watching the ears kept me from getting bit many times. Kicked, too. If the ears are laid back, stay away, they are up to "evil"! Really enjoy your show John. I am old, and house-bound now at age 72. And live in Cedar Rapids,Iowa,USA. Thank you.😊
Oh yeah. When you watch long enough you learn to watch the ears. 😊
Glad no one was hurt. Never loose a healthy respect for a horse, any horse. I was glad to see Tipper this morning. That face🥰 absolutely made my day. Young man is still my fav because reminds me so much of my own but Tipper was the horse i always wanted. But theyre all just beautiful to watch!
That horse is certainly listening to all that talking going on. His ears are alert. What a beautiful boy.
I am so happy that you are alright John.
I can squat down, but like you my knees hurt and I can't get back up without crawling to something to climb up. LOL
The trooper did a wonderful job! John at his best for a close up🤗🇺🇸
John in reference to the “ green beret” I found this:
The Intelligence Corps wear Cypress Green berets, the AGC wear a darker shade (similar to the Commando green) including Staff and Personnel Support, Army Legal Service, Military Provost, the Rifles wear an even darker shade, Commando trained troops in Commando units (29 Cdo RA, 24 Cdo Engr Regt, Cdo Logs Regt), Small Arms School Corps and Royal Gurhka Rifles.
Great info. Thanks
Interesting info. Thank you!
Ah, AGC could sound very much like ATC couldn't it, that would explain the green beret, very smart mind 🤔
The poster close to the wall shows how close the horses rear end came to hitting the wall as it rattles when the horse goes into the tunnel as the horse clips it good job you moved back
So pleased that the Facebook thieves are being sorted. I hope these include two of the cheekiest ie London City Walk and London City Walks. Keep up the good work.
Hey John. It was very thoughtful of you to check on the crouching fellow. Even the man from the Guardshop looked concerned.
Glad all was well. ❤
Wow, that was a close call! It's good that everyone was unharmed.
I've come here to check the horses for this weekend, and oh my god, I'm going to see Ormonde with my own eyes tomorrow! I think I manifested this 😂 Can't wait! Praying for good weather as well! 🙏🏻
Enjoy x
Almost getting stomped to death, never a dull moment with you John.🤣 Dressed for the beach.🤣Also I wanted to add what an incredible sound Big Ben always makes in the background.😘 🇨🇦
Hi John, I'm glad you survived that scary moment, I noticed that the notice at the beginning of the tunnel was hit by the unhappy horse, stay safe John and thank you for the brilliant videos.
Omg John i was really worried for you, i mean that Horse was Huge!!!
Thank God for the skill of the Trooper on board...
Was a magnificent piece of captured filming if thats ok to say so😮.
Again so glad ur safe n sound along with everyone else
Morning John. Approaching a small milestone with your subscriber count? Must be satisfying knowing you are brightening that many people’s lives.
Put the champagne 🍾 🎉 in the fridge. Cheers.
Good afternoon John , it’s great to see the blues and royals back .
a bit of excitement this morning ???
i was a bit surprised you had not jumped back at the first sign of trouble.
braveheart!!
WHOA, WHOA. So glad you're ok, John. Goodness me, that was a close call. WOW! The horse got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
agree! excellent work by the guard bringing his horse under control - think also his fear the horse might lash out with his back legs once that close to the crowd - a parting 'gift' ?
@@battles146 lol. A parting gift???? Lol.
Tipper likes to pet the tourist instead of them petting him lol so cute
I would have checked as well. Good man John xxxx
So happy to hear your soothing voice. The silence was killing me
I wasn't there but it scared the shit out of me....glad you are ok
The cheek of the theif offering you a percentage and wants to steal your PayPal account aswell
Held my breath there for a minute John; thought you were going to be pushed out of the way by the horse. Great to see the Blues and Royals and their horses back on duty. Again fun to watch the expressions of the tourist as they pose for a photo with the horses. So much happening. Another enjoyable watch, thank you: Kiwi
Ormonde is back, the second horse in the second group - that's him
🎉🎉❤❤
I'm getting good at spotting Ormonde. I thought that was him.😊
Well held by the trouper wonderful controlled ,
I always recognize Tipper. Back socks and a beautiful forelock. He is one of my favourite ❤
A lot of the horses that were clipped are growing their coats back to their blacker colour.
He is such a kind and placid horse. One of my favourites too.
That blue plastic bag blowing around could panic a horse and cause them to bolt they should be picked up.
Wow close call!! You need a good drink now!😂😂😎🌻
John that trooper was an excellent rider.
Thank goodness you got results from the theft of your content. The nerve of the idiot offering you a deal!!!! You are an upstanding guy. Keep up the fine work you do. Whoa, that was a scary moment with the wayward horse!😮🙏🏻🥰
Thank you John. I'm in NZ but born and bred in Guernsey. I've been to London a few times and I thoroughly enjoy your videos especially when there is drama as there was in this one. Hope you're recovered.
I love seeing the horses and hearing background on the horses, you provide a wonderful service, you’re kind especially with the tourist you thought was ill. I love how you find out information about different soldiers or troopers that happen by. Thank goodness you were quick on your feet today though 😂. Stay safe and dry xx
Wow, that trooper handled that horse very well but still those people they’re too close to the line. They don’t understand the animals have a mind of their own. That even made me a little nervous seeing the way, he came up the ramp and out the door. He was in a big hurry, and not very happy about it either 😮😮😮
afternoon john ouch that was close tourists stay well back from these lovely horses
💜💚💛 There should be a horse named Poirot working alongside Hastings. 😄😆😂
What a cool suggestion....
@@avryllsixtus3429 Thanks
Lol I love that🙄😱 a “percentage deal” after being caught, knickers down, pinching YOUR content!! Some people DO have a cheek🤯🤣. Looking a bit nippy there John, and that sky is a tad ominous I have to say☂️ Great to catch the Blues coming in tho, and yeah, the guard does seem a little short after so many long guards 😂
And now they understand WHY they need to stand back!! Why does it take a near miss to get people to understand the basic fact that animals are NOT predictable!!! (I will add tho, that it’s VERY rare for a horse to ACTUALLY run humans down-“knocking”them over is another matter tho 😉😳😇. In fact in battle training, horses used to need to be TAUGHT to trample humans, because the natural instinct is to NOT do so)
Note to self: keep an eye out for video of John making like a rabbit🐰🤣
Wow the rain set in fast and heavy didn’t it? Glad we’ve finally confirmed Tempest👍 and I believe that soldier was Engineering Corps John tho I’m no expert at all(yes this is just covering my arse in case I’m totally wrong😇🤣)
What DID the LifeGuard horses have for brekkie this morning??😱🤣 they all seem hyped today…..or maybe they’re just keen to get home before it rains?😂 “name all 7 horses”? John, most mornings I have issues remembering MY name!🤷🤯
Well done john on the FB win...if i come across any more i will let you know..
Well you gave us a good scare to start the day, yikes. Glad you’re okay and all others; the trooper would have been devastated if anyone was hurt even though it wasn’t his fault.
Happy day to you from Tennessee.
Wow, that was almost a squash for you. Scary. I do see Ormonde in the back
I thought I saw Ormonde. Be careful John I am always afraid you are going to get hit by a bus but this time it was a horse.😅😅
Good idea to always have a clean pair of undies on for that very eventuality!! 😅😅😅
Hi John lovely Tempest with his cloud and rain drop blaze
Here, late, but on roll call for present and counted for to visit u and loveable horses❤
Some good looking horses ❤
That was a close call John glad to see no one got hurt... the horse moved so fast. Dear Pagan ❤following behind wondering wth is wrong with her buddy. Too bad the Gatesman didn't come out. Morning John kiwi is looking forward to what Saturday brings (it is Sat. night here) 😀
John,I think that’s terrible about people sharing your great work. I must admit when your on and you explain a lot of things to us. Have a lovely weekend.Take care.
Just got round to watching this video, my favourite boy is back "Ormonde" Hope he is here for the season and puts those tourists in their place.
John, I'll never get to London so I really enjoy your videos. Wow that was a scary moment eh? As a horse owner for most of my life I like to watch the magnificent horses. They are gorgeous!
What a lovely natured horse Tipper is. Hasn't had any lessons from the school of Ormonde yet.
Omg..couldnt breath for a mo there..that waz way too close thought yu were gonna get squashed there.
Another fab morning of filming..thankyou
John that is wonderful news getting stolen content removed ! I see it stolen from others too. It really is disgraceful.
OMG!!! I glad you're ok. That was really close.😮😮😮
I am careful only to sign in with you. God Bless ❤️🇺🇸
Thank you for posting this
Gosh John, I was worried for you when that horse lost it. The poor trooper looked very worried too. Can't wait to see you escaping on film. 🤣
Good afternoon John happy weekend to you xxxxx
That was a close call with the horse, glad you and the crowd managed to get out of the way on time.
18:50 I think he may have said "AGC" Adjutant General's Corp, they wear green beret, and both the shoulder TRF and the cap badge look about right.
They're the largest Army Corps responsible for Admin, HR, Legal, MP and Provost and probably many more services.
Can you please tell me what an adjutant is?
@@christinewhitfeld7939 In the simplest of terms, it's an officer assigned to 'assist' the commanding officer.
So, I'm not ex-military, but I'm thinking along the lines of a mixture PA/HR/Admin officer, maybe ??
I've had a horse spin on me like that! That trouper did an excellent job. 1641 p.m. What a great show it was.
I'd call THAT crowd control.
Welcome back John I hope you enjoyed Paris. I saw some familiar faces incoming Monty Ormonde and maybe Northumberland.
Phew that was a close call with the horse leaving. Very difficult to see markings but did think maybe Orion.
The content thief’s name is very fitting “Nick” as he nicked your videos. Damn cheek of him
Have a wonderful weekend 😊
Glad that you or anyone else did not get hurt John
First horse making turn on your side of 3 I believe is Ormonde. The 3rd in line of the first B&R entering stable.
John stay safe
The horse that went crazy in the yard offered to do overtime to eat extra oats, but he was told there was no overtime today. So he made his point in the yard and went home 🐴🤣 Watch out, there will be horsey industrial action. 😊
Happy Friday John have a great day. Take care.
never a dull moment great video as always TY for your time A J
I believe Ormonde was the 2nd horse of the 2nd group😁 I always like it better when you are on the other side because you can see their facial markings easier from that corner nearer the Chitsman
Tipper seems to be very calm and beautiful ❤
Facebook is wicked.
Facebook is no more but an antic
Thank you for the video , have a great weekend .❤
Omg! John so glad u are ok, wow, u never know
Wow horse not happy
Good evening John from NC USA I’m getting very late start watching Its stormed and rain buckets over most of the day I hate to hear about your fb page I don’t know what to look for to report anything That sweet horse was scary for a moment Glad you’re alright Love your videos Have a great rest of the evening ❤
5:05 Hope your ok, as is the horse and that trooper, what a rider. One minute a normal leaving next chaos for all the tourists and the filmers.
I do hope the trooper and horse are ok. That the trooper gets a stiff drink later.
Was that Pagan, the last horse out with the C of H?
I thought it was Pagan
Exciting when there is a new one. Hello Rufus😊
I just found you this past week, actually..and have do enjoyed your videos… then, in about 4 or 5 days…. I was getting other named videos..some that I recognized as those I’d already seen from you.. but as I arched, I realized you weren’t speaking… so I looked at the name and there two or 3 other names… weird… hope you get it all sorted.. also hope that I get a chance to run into you when my beloved and I get over there in the next year ( as we hope ) !!! I love what you’re doing!! A old gal from Pennsylvania.
🇺🇸
I’m watching this on FB !!!
Hi John. I wanted to ask you last summer you were recording at the kings guards, a horse who got a drink of water out of the blue bucket that the trooper brought outside for it. Do you by chance remember that horse his name I will never forget that video as long as I live, it was so touching and such a happy thing.
There were several of these vids. Can you narrow it down any? I do recall Pagan was in one of them and is probably the most distinctive horse.
John, if I tried sitting that way, we would need Q10 to get me back up.😅😂😂
So the guy had the nerve to contact you and ask to keep some of YOUR content AFTER he stoled it? Wow!! No way in hell! Whatta dope!! On another note, after the chaos with the horse, I noticed Pagan was there!!! He was the very last horse, after the crazy horse. 😂
Well, that wasn’t scary much, 😱. I’ve had lots of close encounters, but never an actual collision. A groom once told me horses dislike the squishy-ness of humans underfoot and will go to great lengths to avoid trampling us. It’s a comforting thought, but no idea if it’s true.
It’s totally true. It makes sense too…..horses are flight animals. In the wild if they can’t run, they’re as good as dead, so horses are VERY cautious of their footing. They REALLY dislike novel flooring/ground surfaces(this is why many horses hate bridges….they feel and sound funny)because if they fall they could injure their legs. Back in the day, when horses were used in battle regularly, they had to be taught to trample bodies on the ground, because left to themselves they’d avoid anything on the ground.
@@paulinemegson8519 Ah, that explains the reactions of an Arabian mare I rode as a kid. She would freak over any sign of water or wet ground on the race track where we took lessons. Also hoses lying across the track used to send her into a panic. We were told she was afraid of quicksand and snakes. She was desert-bred, so it made sense.
@@aswanson42 yep water is a biggie for most horses because they can’t tell A:how deep it is and what the footing is like, and B: whether or not there’s a predator in there. Most eventers take a while to learn to enter water, and jump in and out of it. The horse REALLY needs to trust it’s rider. Actually here at HorseGuards there used to be a huge puddle that formed at the parade ground end of the tunnel. Mostly it was fine, but now and again one of the horses would decide “nup, not doing that today……there could be crocodiles in there!!” 🤣
I think it's high time we saw John!!!
Oh I have missed a bit the past several days, I'm glad FB assisted you so quickly. IG is a other place to watch out for too, it's why I don't go on anymore there. Ppl will take your pics and identity, just not safe. Congrats on your 50k about to happen, does not surprise me though ❤ take care
I wouldn't say the horse was unhappy. Quite often they are just keen to get on with job or want to be at the front. These beauties are at the height of fitness and have the best of care so have plenty of energy.
The people weren't back to the correct white line. I say "no more horses for them".
Glad you are safe John that was scary. Really well done to the1 trooper he must have been really worried he did well not to panic
Having been like that a few times I can tell you the like crouching down is re covering from a very heavy drinking night.
Hi John! 🤓 Hastings is a nose wiggler! LOL He is good looking. He is playing with the bit. Their tongues are very long and large. I've been licked by a Clydsdale years ago. LOL 🐎 John nearly getting trampeled was funny. You moved just in time! ☺ The ding dong filming in front of Horse Guards is an idiot! Silly people we even have them in the USA. Tipper is a cute fellow (yes the horse is male). Thanks John, today was fun. Take care.
Think the sign is missing due to whatever it is hung on being loose. Noticed a trooper testing it
The spanish kids were loud but respectful because they said to each other (too loudly) they could touch the horse but not the reigns, not to be afraid. Podes acariciar al caballo means you can stroke the horse. Good kids, shouted a little too much that's all.
oooh that horse was a bit scary...glad everyone was ok though. The Honourable Artillery Company is the oldest regiment in the British Army and the second most senior unit of the Army Reserve. 1537 Formation of the HAC. Good of you to check on that guy but you are right, you never know xoxox
That’s the regiment that performs the gun salutes at the Tower of London.
John, the soldier you spoke to yesterday wearing the green beret is probably a member of a Commando trained unit 29Battery Royal Artillery. His belt tells me he is from an Artillery Unit. All the best Graham.
Good morning🌻😎
Most likely the sign is with the signwriter. My brother was a regimental signwriter for 9 years and they don't usually have duplicates.
