Thank you for sharing your day with us!! You answered my question here on this video about what sprayer you all use! Lol ...more of these would be great
Good for you! Hard working family. You reap what you sew, and you are sewing hard work, creativity back into the world...great job! I am so impressed with this channel.
I really am going to enjoy yalls 365 days of vlogs/videos!! I know it's going to be a TON of work and I totally commend y'all for putting all the hard work in! Can't wait for yalls goal to come alive with the future Fixer Upper!! 🤗❤️
Shannon Laux we have to paint in the garage and build there too it's a pain and takes forever. I also paint in the house a lot. My living room is wide open and I just lay down tarps and brush away.
seems like that eclipse just happened! When you own a business there seems to be a certain rythem of never ending business that goes on. I see that in this vlog. I admire the dedication...I have left that world...I have entered the buying zone!!!
Really really like this channel, some great ideas. I do some of this style of reclaimed farmhouse look myself. Not as popular here in ireland as it is in the states. Keep up the great work !
I saw a secretary that you had finished. I'm currently watching an auction that has an old secretary. You have given me an idea on how to finish it, SOOO I may have to see if I can win it. Also seen where your husband got the clamps that y'all use. Think I'll go by there and see what I can find. You and your husband are inspiring. Thanks for being so easy to watch and understand how to create beautiful pieces of work. Keep up the great work !!
I have 2 dressers that I want to paint. They're shinny ,do I need to sand them before I paint and which paint would work best for a Patina look, Milk ,Chalk or DIY ?
I actually just started this kind of thing myself. Just curious about what a reasonable amount to make a month is in your opinion? What do you usually charge for your items? More on the high end or a little cheaper?
Was just at Hobby Lobby yesterday, no sale yet on knobs. I can't do full price. I find good lots of knobs on ebay. my knob stash is crazy, so no more for awhile. Gee, I love furniture jewelry!
Great job guys! It's a great start to 5 days a week...keep them coming! I was wondering if you were still using the purple spray gun from Harbor Freight...I just used my yesterday!
I like the joke about the kids in Hobby Lobby. I have 6 grandchildren all under 9 years old and they are loud and messy but I would not trade them for the world. My 1-year-old granddaughter is called banshee because when she screams she could break glass. I do like your style of furniture.
I love the top hutch❤️ and I'm trying to make one out of a old 1934 I believe that the year I could be wrong. But yes I want to use all the original wood off of it to make the doors but I want glass windows just like your hutch. And my hubby is going to put a glass shelf, and a light on the back of it I can't wait for you to see it all done 😁❣️ I would like to buy some of the paint from you to like maybe a white? Or the swan White. And I want to learn how to distress it.
White swan is my favorite white. To distress it we use 220 grit sand paper and if it has a lot of detail we take a damp cloth and wipe the paint back before it’s sealed
I may put a order for some chippy milk paint and white swan. What do you think? I don't like it to look to bright white you know . I don't want to be blinded by a white color to bride of a white. And I want to also paint the top of my round table top and keep the bottom of the legs natural wood.
I am so JEALOUS....Can I come over to your house....LOL. This is all I ever want to do besides spend time with my kids.....I love how your husband works with you...love it
Me too ....I wish I could get my husband on board with me and make a little extra money...In this town its all elderly which means the garage sales and estate sales and thrift stores are full of good quality furniture just waiting to get a makeover ...by me..lol. I think if I sold one then that would help him see how fun and rewarding this could be. Have you ever tried to use Rustoleum Chalk Paint and if so what did you think of it?
How do you decide which paint to use....and once painted do you always use the wax as a sealer...and if you use another type sealer will it ruin my project?
There are a lot of answers to this but here’s a simple overview. I use DIY clay based paint for blended finishes and I love the coverage of DIY whites. Fairy Chalk Mother chalk paint most for spraying, it lays down nice and even if your brushing it, it has a self leveler. FCM paint also has the widest variety of colors and the Brightest white of any brand I use (Snowflake). I use Sweet Pickins milk paint for chippy finishes and to get natural crackle. I love painting it over other paints for a two toned look when I distress. I wax really chippy paint finishes to reduce causing even more chipping. I also use wax on old pieces that I’m concerned might have bleed through as it’s less likely to pull stains through the paint as it dries. I also love it on older pieces of furniture for a natural aged look. I use liquid sealers like DIY Big Top and Sweet Pickins Top Coat on high traffic pieces like table tops and end tables. I feel the liquid sealers are more durable once they’ve cured. All three brands are minimal prep. I usually just clean the piece and start painting. If a piece has a really slick finish or it’s “shiny” I give it a light sanding with 220 grit. Hope that helps!
Jami; I’m going to give spray painting a try. I got a 5 person tent to do it in but the freedom you have to walk around it so much better. Is there any tips you can give me. Is there much overspray? How about windy or breezy days? We have a lot of those where I live...
It's pretty windy where we live, most days it's not bad enough to affect the paint. We have a few videos specifically on spraying paint I'll link the playlist. ruclips.net/p/PLprcXWqGeBKhlfJjGDODEV2XgHqY7WcK3
Do you not have problems with your neighborhood HOA? There is no way we could get away with parking the trailer on the street or driveway, and the noise from the tools would never fly. Evidently you don’t have the same restrictions where you live.
We’re not too loud. 👍 All the tools are primarily in the garage and we pull the furniture in and out throughout the day. A project that’s outside is typically finished in less than an hour because it dries so fast in the sun. It’s a pain but it keeps the neighbors happy.
You two are so hard working!
I still love watching your old videos! My ADD reminds me of techniques I long forgot and apparently needed a refresher course on every time! Lol
I follow you now in 2022. Fun to see you from 4 yrs ago!

Overspray!!! It's got to be everywhere!!!
Nah. The tarps catch it pretty well. Sometimes if it’s really windy we don’t spray.

Yeah I just found out that the dresser is from the 1930s. I'm excited guys can't wait to see how it turns out 👍😁😁😁❣️
But I also love the color you used on the top hutch like a turquoise or something of a color greenish-blue-gray.
wish I lived in the US so I could buy things from you I live in the UK
angela harding someday I will figure out international shipping :)
Same! Angela Harding. I live in Australia and our selection of knobs is dismall and the cost for timber can be pricey!!!
Could anyone suggest a good affordable sprayer in the UK? Loving these blogs btw!
Voilamart HVLP Gravity Feed Air Spray Gun is on amazon.co.uk for £17.99 it has a bunch of extra nozels too. that's the best deal I found.

I’ve never used it before so I couldn’t say one way or the other.
Although I’m a little jealous of your thrift store situation. Mine is picked clean minutes after opening most days! Lol
Lord please let me buy that table.
Morrisfamily lol. We'd love that.
What kinda spray guns do you guys use ? I'm looking for cheap ones
What paint sprayer are you using? I have an air compressor so that's no problem. I want to be sure to buy the right sprayer. Thank you kindly. 😊

Jami Ray Vintage how did the auction go? Did your piece win?
Desde España 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙋
Pepi Lopez 👍
Pls make one video with only jack 😍😍😍
How do your neighbors feel about all the spray painting?
What is the BEST wood glue to use?
Simple Me, I like Tite Bond II. It has a longer open time than tite bond III and is still water resistant. It can be used for indoor/outdoor projects.
Hi. Does the Kiltz Max stop tobacco smells too?
not sure, we just started trying it.
Lov ur channel😚
Thanks!
Does the sprayoff not get on your cars or house?
Tammy 4him yes a little bit. Work hazard. I am going to repaint by the garage when we move
Jami Ray Vintage good thing your a pro! 😉
what is the website address to view your products. am tech. challenged so don't really know which one it is up on the "show more" place.
jamirayvintage.com
How much for the table? Do you still have it?
IHEARA WHO it's $1995 and we do :)
Is the wardrobe available?
Chelsee Bendtsen yes its in my retail space I'm Lehi. There is info on it in my instagram and facebook
Do you ever get complaints from your neighbors?
Not a one. They all have pieces we’ve refinished in their homes. 🙂
That is great!!!
Do you ever have problems with the neighbors complaining about over-spraying getting on surfaces of their house, cars, etc?
No, it doesn’t really leave the drop cloth area. We avoid spraying on windy days.
For some reason I’m noticing you sound different in older videos ??
We got a better mic as the channel grew.
Do you not have problems with your neighborhood HOA? There is no way we could get away with parking the trailer on the street or driveway, and the noise from the tools would never fly. Evidently you don’t have the same restrictions where you live.
