Some people are so brain washed by brands, I've done my research and it's hard to find a guitar that sound like these Yamaha 611s, just the perfect pickup combination, with all the extras that many people pay after they buy their stock guitar from "better" brands. I understand why Mr Lagrenne uses this guitars, because they sound amazing and have enough quality to keep up with his awesomeness.
Proud owner of a 611VFM model. And yes, if you get past the brand and actually look at what the instrument offers is miles above anything at similar price ranges. Compares to instruments in the 2000$ range in terms of sound quality! Not to mention all the extra's you were saying.
You'll find that among great musicians, the emphasis on 'gear' isn't to 1-100th the level of relentless obsession that internet turds emphasize 'gear'. They usually pick up gear, try it out, see how it sounds and if they like it, they use it regardless of what is stenciled on it. Among 'collectors' and internet gear-theorists, the narrative is an elaborate series of associations whereby ones very self-worth is determined by what brands they own. Music? Eh, who cares about any of that. Its sad.
it seems like the root beer finishes vary. the root beer fixed bridge looks darker and more root beer like that the pacifica with the wilkenson trem (which looks brighter ..more or a dark red). google the images and see for yourself
Yamaha 611 is a perfect guitar with incredible low action
Awesome!!! His musical geniality has, so far, no limits!
Birelli's command of the instrument an imagination are truly awe inspiring.
