Hey there lovely Gurdians! This time I am delivering a highly requested video!!
So many people wrote me on instagram how interested they are in getting a full Pedalboard tour. You know, the Effect Board that lots of Guitarists use. Instead of using a Guitar, I use the gurdy. Cause with a gurdy you can also use a pedalboard on stage. Since I just had a whole tour full of experiences with it, there you go: Pedalboard tour! Enjoy!!

If you don't have the time, skip to 5:16 and thank me later.
I'd say skip to 4:38 ^_^
Hello, I'm a fan of your music and I would like to get this instrument you would have a site to advise me because I looked but I did not find anything, thank you very much and continue, sorry for my English I am French :)
Echt nicht so cool. Die music ist so toll. Scheiß drauf.
You're a peach.
Have you ever tried doing a rendition of "Within You Without You" by The Beatles?
The last distortion sound is out of this world!!! Supercool!!! Rock on Patty!!!🤙
Hell yeah!
it warrents an album all its own!
The second solo is "Over the Hills and Far Away"
The djenty stuff sounds like a Rammstein riff
You Patty, have proven the gurdy is the metal guitar of medieval music. And dare we say, the future? Yes. Yes we dare.
Electric hurdy gurdy time here we come. Distortion pedal and electric pickups on a hurdy gurdy would be so awesome.
In my opinion, the natural melody without electronic effects is clearly the most beautiful.
The constant turning drum of the gurdy is like a natural acoustic distortion in itself
Hello from USA I love your hurdy-gurdy Patty!! From Pat
I highly support you to go to ESC because you are awesome with that melodies of hope and you are our biggest chance since a whole lifetime!
Shimmer sounds like you are playing in a desert grotto, with that sweet gurdy voice echoing off the rocks. Ethereal.
Scott called it 😎👍‼️ “Shimmer” with the tune you played, sounded just like Berber music 😍👍
The last kind of sound just wants me to join in with massive double bass drums...
😛👍
please we need a full metal song 🥺🖤
I love your songs and come back to them for inspiration. You make me want to play an instrument again. That last sound distortion seems fit for a battle cry.
Studio effects: people dis music that cannot be reproduced live, thus the gripe. However, effects that can be reproduced live are great. So great, it pushes the boundaries of what the instrument can do, and that is always fun to hear a new sweet effect to polish off a song.
The last sound is my absolute favourite! Love it.
This was wicked cool! Instant sub. Shared!
That was wonderful love the third one and the last one but always love the stage ❤ one it just punches the gurdy to a new level but the distortions are metal especially the last bit and more songs that way would be awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍 💖 ❤
One can literally see how you feel the music you're playing and that you're one with your gurdy. 😁
I loved it. Each sound has its place and the differences doesn't take away the clasic sound of your Gurdy. Loved it. Stay safe. God Speed. ❤️🌹🤘
4:38 2nd one was definetely "over the hills", 3rd was I think "mein Herz brennt"
This is SOOOO cool and you are so insanely good 😭❤
The Longing is how I discovered you, and I’m a lifelong fan forever more!!
Thanks to you, the hurdy-gurdy and its possibilities began to fascinate me, but you fascinate me even more because you can use these possibilities. I am very glad that YT once recommended you to me
This is a wonderful insight into your skills and talents! Love this!!!
Awesome. Beautiful and so is the music.
Sounds awesome! Thanks for the video.
Yoooo that “discordad stuff” sounds awesome!!!!!
Hey Patty, Love your music :D I am most of the time into heavy and melodic death metal, but I have a fond love to folk metal, and I love how a lot of german bands use a Gurdy to make the metal vibes even more medival :D Love it!
I really appreciate you sharing your music and such a wonderful instrument with the world. I've listened to you for about 7 years now? When you released leaves and lemons, I've been hooked ever since and love just about all of your songs.
loved the last sound! I bet you can have so much fun with that..!😄
Distortion-cool
I. Love. These. Videos! The Hurdy Gurdy sounds so savage.
Really like these tour videos! Keep it up Patty 😃
Thank you Patty, great!
You must have the treble really rolled off on that shimmer sound. Every shimmer effect I've tried on guitar was really shrill without lots of tweaking.
I love the hurdy gurdy and I am IN love with Patty Gurdy!
Very interesting video patty awesome sounds from the pedal board
Fun and informative video!
Wow that's awesome!
Wow! That’s so cool. 💚
Very cool demo Ms Gurdy.
Нравится мне её музыка и песни как поёт. И вообще. Она мне нравится! Хорошая!
Lookin good while sounding good is super good!
Ahhhhhh.., Patty darlin'.... . For this ol'man it's always a pleasure to have you here, doin' what you do & the kind little caveats about you & instruments. Yeah... I'm smitten too..., lol! Have a great & safe Merry Christmas & Happy Holidaze....
That last distorted sound is pretty epic!
Woow you can even play gent on it!! That’s really cool! You taken it to new level! Love it! ❤❤❤❤
hört sich einfach mal super an
vielen dank dafür
OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY!!!
Got the ampero too for my solo project coming this year found very versatile i love it
That was pretty cool!
Very nice pedalboard tour
Nice video thanks 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The last one is 🔥🔥🔥
The section from "Universe Night and day" the "Gurdy on Dope" sounded quite middle -eastern/Arabic in flavour.
Thanks for tour.
Always good to hear you.
Love the shimmer effect. Lots of echo and a bit of reverb
this great, love your music
I really like the original sound of the gurdy but also liked the third sound very much. The shimmer sound.
Second solo is Far and Away. I have, at different times, been able to get both solos down on harmonica, but never been able to get them both working at the same time. :)
Buon Natale Patty.
Can we get an electric hurdy gurdy with some 9 string guitar sounds included.
yay, over the hills :D
I think we need a full version or something of the last part it was too short
Metal! Yeah!
Whatta Hurdy Gurdy gal!!
A whole Song with the last distortion Sound would be awesome 🥰🤘🏼
love your music-it is as beautiful as you are! I first saw the gurdy played by another musician with another german group doing Warriors of the World. Then fell across some of your videos and was entranced-love your new one with Snakecharmer-its too short! Best of luck in future-stay safe
Ngl, I wanna hear some After The Burial on one of these now.
Gurdians. How cool!
Saying Hi from Canada 💚
She's awesome
Ooooh, that last one was the best and bad ass! 🤘😞🤘
Regarding the pedal board vs the studio, I think the reason for the different views in effects is that a true artist can perform on stage, in person, in real time.
With the pedal board, the artist picks the sound they want, much like tuning their instrument... and then gets one shot to display their mastery live in real time.
While the studio can be used simply to add effects, these days of auto tune and such have led to far too many artists doing crap performances which they then simply "fix" in the studio.
There is nothing more frustrating and disappointing than paying the exorbitant ticket prices these days to see such an artist live, only to find that they can barely muster a decent performance and are incapable of producing a polished sound live... because the song you came to love was the product of a studio lab rather than the artists skill.
In short, the pedals adjust the sound PRE-performance/in real time = art. The studio lab adjusts the sound POST-performance = art-ificial (fake).
absolutely true!
👍👍👍
That last sound belongs in a Rammstein song.
I like the sound it is cool.
Hello!!! GG this métal sound whith your hurdy gurdy... Absolutly incredible... I LOVE THIS SOUND❤❤❤❤
For anyone else who's interested in amp modelers like I am and was wondering, looks like it's called the Nux MG-30. Not sure why she didn't name it, but there you go.
Mega geil ❤❤❤
I really like the shimmer sound
Well, finally, at least someone guessed to connect the pickup and gadgets to the hurdy-gurdy! Thanks a lot! Rockers and different goths there will be delighted. 👍🤘(Ну наконец то, хоть кто то догадался подключить звукосниматель и примочки к колёсной лире! Спасибо огромное! Рокеры и разные там готы будут в восторге. 👍🤘)
Metal! 🤘😆🤘🎶
La Distorcion es perfecta......wow...
Tremendo sonido...Usa el pedal te da otras obciones para diferentes canciones.
Very Nice
It's awesome ,
While I find out you&your musics , I love it, especially to ryhtyms :)
Well I don't recognize the others but the second one was Over The Hills And Far Away..... :)
.....which I have just noticed is first on the list of suggested videos as I'm typing this... :D
Such a lovely girl!
Second song is called "Over the hills and far away"
Wooow❤❤❤❤
OMG, please come to Newfoundland for Sound Symposium!
I'd love to hear you play the Hurdy Gurdy parts to Metallica's Low Man's Lyric and The Memory Remains
Pedalboard vs. in-studio effect; same thing of course. I suspect some folks mistrust studio effects because they can be applied and tried over and over until the desired effect is obtained. Live, with a pedalboard, you only get one chance to get it right, and I think some may see this as proof of talent. But that should really be just a general live vs. studio argument that applies to many different effects as well as track layering etc. I think some people incorrectly project the pedalboard vs. studio effects argument onto the whole live vs studio debate, which is confusing two different arguments.
And that last effect you showed us deserves a whole song if not a few songs! 👍😁 (you should do some work together with Brendan Perry & Lisa Gerrard of Dead Can Dance...)
Last one was cool
Heck yeah! I’d like to se a cover of the Halo 3 theme song!
Have you ever done any recordings in a cave, or a vault? I recall hearing an album of solo flute music recorded in an Egyptian Tomb, which was hauntingly beautiful.
Thanks.
Ich hoffe so sehr das du für uns zum ESC fährst 🎉🎉🎉❤
Ich hätte liebend gern ne Metal version von Melodies of Hope. Würd ich sooo feiern!
re: 3:30: I wonder if it's because people think the studio effects are just running a bunch of filters after the music is recorded (which, sometimes it is, but sometimes it's done live), which they then view negatively like auto-tune. But when they see you doing it live with a pedal board, it's still "live" music done on the fly, so they see it as "real" rather than "faking it" in post-production.
I liked the shimmering and the last one that you aged was pretty sick. 😍
Hey Patty, that djent sound was just "what the.." 😮... but my question, or suggestion for future vid. is: If you have the oportunity, I would love to hear the sound of different Gurdy´s! To compare/show us how they sound with your tunes 🙂. Cheers 💚 !!!
we need a song only with the distortion in the end lol
I am an Electronics engineer, and sound manipulation threw electronic filters either on stage or in a studio are the same. Microchips and microcomputers have allowed peddle boards to do what took rooms full of recording and modulating equipment, and required a lot of power to operate, to do in the past. An artist can use a modest laptop PC and a good recording and modulation program along with a few switches keyed into the USB ports to do some remarkable things on stage or at home with a sound that 15 years ago was not dreamed possible outside the studio. That is why many artists can now even self-produce their music in a smaller home-built studio and not have to pay a sound and recording crew and rent a large studio to produce their music. People who say there is a difference between stage and studio sound manipulation do not understand the electronics behind that sound manipulation. I find it quite fascinating my self.
Shimmer sound is a lot like an electric sitar.
Personally I view the pedal as more natural. It's still the sound your instrument does in direct connection to you while in studio anything is possible
