I made this video to help students prepare for their end of year exams. The topics covered in this video include:
Pythagorean Theorem, linear equations, solving linear equations, properties of exponents, irrational numbers, transformations on the coordinate plane, determining functions, distance between two points, volume of cylinders, interior angles of a triangle, parallel lines and transversals.

For question 47, could one stop at both calculations equal to 5^4 instead? Obviously, they should be equal.

      Go to page 79/100: www.nysedregents.org/ei/math/2023/2023-scoring-materials-math-g8.pdf
This shows you how you can lose points on question 47. For that question, as long as you get 5^4 for both, and explain how you applied the properties of exponents, you will get 2/2. Saying 5^4 = 625 is not necessary!

What are you using for the very nice tablet drawings and writing?

      Wacom tablet: estore.wacom.com/en-US/tablets.html
It works very well for screen record instructionals!

@@vinteachesmath I have a few more questions about your setup if you don't mind.
I think your penmanship is outstanding and among the best I have seen. Mine does not come close with my current tablet and whiteboard setup (Samsung S6 Lite and Zoom online whiteboard.) I'm hoping to get closer to what you are producing with the right hardware and software setup ... and a whole lot of practice.
So, specifically, I am wondering ...
      a) which Wacom tablet you are using
      b) what Whiteboard software and setup are you using ( like the 'Enhance inked shapes' in MS Whiteboard)
      c) what is your connection/pairing setup for tablet and your main computer and whiteboard?

@@MathCoachMe (a) This is the specific tablet I use (Wired Wacom Intuos Small): estore.wacom.com/en-US/wacom-intuos-s-black-us-ctl4100.html, but I do plan on upgrading in the near future! I prefer having more space, and the pro models would be even more responsive. I would say you don't need the most expensive one to make good videos, but buying a nice tablet is not a bad investment.
      (b) I mainly use notability, but I cycle between good notes, smart notebook (for geometry constructions) and microsoft one note.
      (c) I have a Mac Mini (2018), my wacom tablet connects by usb directly to my computer.
My best advice is to get started with something and see where it takes you, everyone's style is different. The other math youtubers have similar but different setups when compared to me. Some have incredibly different setups. I know one of my favorite math youtubers, blackpenredpen, uses a whiteboard and markers, his channel has 1 mill+ subs.

@@vinteachesmath Vin, I really appreciate your replies and insights. Thank-you.
So when you go ahead and upgrade to the Intuos Pro, will you choose the Large or Medium model? I watched a product review video where the reviewer indicated a preference for the medium screen over the large for writing math problems. His reasoning was that he did not have to move his hand as much.
Have you considered the Wacom Cintiq screens instead? To this point, I've only used my Samsung touchscreen tablet. Switching to the Intous drawing pad approach will be new to me, but I have a technology background, so I'm not afraid of the switch. I was just wondering about the advantages or disadvantages of these approaches for our purpose of producing math videos.
