    Last night was the first time I ever heard of self-defense canes, as far as I know. I watched some videos, but not this one yet. I was wondering about the canes. I don't need a cane. I have problems with my feet and legs, but I can walk ok. My real interest in the canes is about dog attacks because I live in a nice neighborhood, and I walk a dog a lot and sometimes one or two big dogs gets out and attacks the little dog I am walking. Once, two large dogs attacked the little dog I was with and it had a muzzle on. The owner could not stop them, but the dogs kept biting the little dog's sweater instead of the dog about 30 times, so it was a miracle.
    Anyway, do you discuss how the canes can be used against dogs? I think for me it sounds very appealing to legally carry a cane as a weapon against dogs. How do you walk with a cane if you don't need a cane? Can a healthy person carry a cane in their hand without actually using it for walking? How do you explain that to people?

    Very useful tips, I'm learning a lot. Thanks! Recently the police and the opression units in the Islamic Republic are brutally killing and arresting iranian people, we must use whatever we can to defend ourselves. #Mahsa_Amini

    I'd fasten a light weight to the end of the cane to practice that... :) (the figure 8, that is)... Do all movements with weight on the end of the cane- for some short practice-then an equal amount of practice with NO weight-and your control will grow EXPONENTIALLY!!!

      Hi David … it’s an interesting theory, but I’m not a fan of the “train heavy - fight light” school when it comes to canes. However, if you are getting good results, keep at it! Keith

      @@CaneMasters-WalkingCanes I think you misunderstand-- you don't TRAIN that way for the cane- you train that way for the muscles-- then the actual cane training is done NORMALLY!!! AND - for most effectiveness- they're done Separately.. just makes the real training and control EASIER and faster to pick up.

      Weights on the end of the can could be rough on the wrists but if done without quick reversal of cane direction it may be ok for most.

    • @davidwayne9982
      @davidwayne9982 2 года назад

      @@tkdbob2021 NOT heavy weight- just something to add a LITTLE to the end-- and you do the moves in each direction the wrist would normally turn SLOWLY-- and only a few reps-- to build strength and get a little stretch ONLY- -then regular cane for everything else.. The wrist strength in most guys is NOT something that gets worked much- especially us OLDER guys- so this is important for moving the cane quuickly without straining during training or confrontation. Just as you do pushups, curls, etc. to buils muscle and do stretching to keep your legs from cramping as runner-- it's NOT what you do during normal training-- but before or after for increased STRENGTH and done SLOWLY-- with low reps.

    Great marketing, silly advice for us old guys walking our dogs. This guy never spends 10 minutes walking in his high-end Florida neighborhood.
