Great content as usual 👍 How would these speakers be with less then perfect recordings ? Would you describe them as a little bright, what type of amp do you would match well with them ? Thanks !
They are quite forgiving of less than good recording. Not bright in an offensive manner. They sounded amazing with the Audio Research vsi60 and high quality SS amps like the Rega Elex, Aethos.
@@analogholic_reviews Thanks for finding time to response. Would you mind answering another question for me ? They are about 40 inches tall, how do they project into the room ? Could their limited hight be an issue when enjoying music from various positions in the room ? Thanks again.
The ribbon tweeter height when placed on supplied spikes was perfect to my listening position. Of course they image best when seated somewhere in the middle of the speakers. But the tonality is quite stellar when walking about and listening doing other tasks. If you have the video, I mean them being placed in very large listening room.
I can only agree with your comments as I’m the proud owner of Proac D20R since 2020. After 3 years of listening sessions (a lot), I’m still amazed by their musicality and the fact that they are so impactful (physically) but still very organized…. On top of that after having owned great speakers/systems and listened amazing setups, I’m still surprised by the great D20R, they catch me every time! Many thanks for the great tracks and also for your honest and real music lover review, appreciated! Again I can only agree with you, they can be your last pair of speakers! My setup: D20R Naim xs3 Naïm cd6 Technics mk2 Blue node Cables full cardas crosslink Cheers from Switzerland, JB
I have them in a 12m2 room powered by Topping LA90 and I like the speed and engagement of this combo. Makes you wanna dance every time you play music :)
I am a super happy owner of a previous version - Response D18. Can confirm they are very forgiving on a placement. Bought mine over 10 years ago and still enjoying every time. Can imagine D20R be only better.
If I have to choose 3 brands of speakers, I wiill go for Tannoy, Sonus Faber and Proac, all 3 gave me the emotion of music. Very good review¡¡¡¡¡, I completely agree with you and it is amazing how proac delivers 20hz in the bass in such small cabinet¡¡¡¡ Fantastic speakers.
Hi, I saw your review and also the DT8 review. I can't test both at home so i would like you to help deciding which to buy, for a solid state amp. I like the clarity of D20 but there's still something on the dt8. Maybe it's because my ears don't process low frequencies as a normal ear, and it has more bass. Please give me some words...thank you
Hi, Which should I get between ProAC's DT8, D20R or D30RS for all genres of music (prog Rock, jazz and some rock). My listening space measures 19ft long x 11ft wide x 10-14ft high. My amplifiers are Parasound A21+ and A23+. Preamplifiers are Topping Pre90 and Parasound P6 in combination with a Topping D90SE DAC. TIA.
@Analogholic in your opinion willl D20R go near declared 28 Hz without needs to go up on decibels? Do you notice that bass are coherent withmusic reproduction for lower hertz like piano or cello?
I believe I replied to you on a comment on the DT8 video. The D20R had no problem with 30hz test tones in my >10k cu ft listening room at ~ 80db listening levels. The deep weighty bass on cello, piano was pleasurable via the D20r via my electronics.
Yesterday i listened d20r for first time, during a visti to reseller. I was disappointed because treble were really annoying and tiring, too high and too opened. Not a good listening for me. Did you experinced something different maybe
Great review! Do you think that the Rega elex r would be a goof match for those speakers? What about low volume listening sessions? I had a pair of D2r but i was missing bass extension and at low volumes the result was a bit lifeless to my ears. i am seriously considering to buy them though i would like to test first. Your input matters for me. Thanks in advance.
My ex D20R were replaced by Harbeth C7esx3d for a reason! Main reason vocals never sounded good even with sugden master class ia4 or audio research vsi60, audio note dac2.1xsig, lampizator dac etc...
Great content as always !! I am actively considering the d20r and d30r. Just that I don't have demo options in my city Have you heard the d30r ? How do the two compare ? My amplifier is a Hegel H360 Looking forward to your insightful comments Cheers
Thank you, at last... Proac speakers on a USA based channel! I have Proac Response D1, for some 10 years. I agree with all that you said - not that I ever disagree with yourself.
@@analogholic_reviews these are the least reviewed speakers ....ever, something is wrong there, one wonder if they relly exist nobody carry them in store here in canada i must purchase them at my own risk no return when you spend 4400$ plus tax it get to over 6000$ kind of not appealing
wish they were afordable here in australia would be ok if they were 6k here but were totaly ripped off they selling here for 15K yes i kid you not total rip off

Yes sir! They are that good. D2R's here
Cost and space prohibitive for me atm. Maybe someday…Another great review, and wonderful tune choices! 👍🏼
Hello! Can you recommend PROAC D20R for a Rega Planar 6 ? Also I'm looking for a tube amp. What model you can recommend? Thank you!

I plan to review the DT8s shorty. So pls stay tuned! BTW parasound makes sweet hifi gear.

I can't get the D20 in Bangkok but I can pick up a gently (-?) used pair of D15's for $1620 USD. Smash or pass?

In your opinion,
How would be he combination of proacd20r with the naim unity atom?
As a summer setup and for streamer everyday
Thank you!
Greetings from the UK. Excellent review. Detailed, concise and accessible.Thank you.
Rohit! Welcome back! I was curious what happened to your channel the other month …i really missed the albums you highlight

I have Proac speaker and they are nice. But there is no way those go down to 28hz. What’s the F3 on them?
Good vid btw
They do mate. I've got them and measured them in a 17 x10ft room
30' square?! how many people have a room that big?
32’ x 30’ … half space 9’ and the other 10’.

i hope you review the db1 sir
I hope so myself!

Welcome back! I missed you and your videos. I'll be in Detroit next month and will try to visit No Noise HiFi.
Let me know approximately when. Would be cool to meet up.
Haunting remind me the drum solo on the first album of the Emerson Lake & Palmer, Tank :) Nice album btw, thanks for giving us these precious hints :)
Look up “just play the blues” with Charlie hunter…shud be a good work out for those speakers
Thanks! Will definitely check it out!
