This band is actually called Hunter. Their producer/manager stole their tapes and brought them to the states where he got a record company to print it without the band's consent.
I cant remember exactly how the story went, but I think one of the band members sold the album without the others consent, to a record company. anyhow they only cut the one album.
The bands name fits the energy of the music so well its almost surreal!! this should be as well known a band as Jethro Tull..sorta gotta wonder who dropped the ball with this one...the band members? the management? the LSD quality? what could have taken place to prevent this band from becoming a household familiar ? So many stories remain vaguely told..
They were called Hunter ripped off by their so called manager producer took the tapes to the states and released it under this name and didn't tell the band about it so no royalties shame because they are great here.
Funny thing about the Charles Manson’s Lie Lp? He was actually really talented and I think had he not gathered up all of his children and went on that massive killing spree; he’d have been picked up by either Terry Melvher or somebody else’s label and had a musical career instead of that terrible nightmare back there in’69. I found the album Dust (1971) who I’d never heard of beforehand and read about them touring with Alice Cooper’s band for their Love It Til Death tour in the St. Louis Times newspaper review and I’m just wondering how come I’d been totally oblivious about this amazingly gifted group of musicians being that I’ve followed everyone from ABBA to ZZ The as a curious little 7 year old kid who had an older sister with a fantastic music catalogue? @glen Wow...almost hard to believe, but I believe it ! In '71 this could've sold fairly well.
Não sabia disso. Lamentavelmente nesses anos isso acontecia com frequência!
Who knows why a band with such songs did not continue to record other albums?
I cant remember exactly how the story went, but I think one of the band members sold the album without the others consent, to a record company. anyhow they only cut the one album.
The band were called Hunter, the manager stole the master tapes travelled to the US and released the album under the name Orang-utan

Pretty darn good.
Excellent!
Ouvi esse álbum a muito tempo atrás!
Thanks for the music.
This is great. It reminds me of my sixth form days in the mid 70's, when every band tried to sound like this.
Did you have a 7th form in your day, or did you have both a lower and upper 6th?
@@Williamottelucas the latter. Everyone carried a Stafford Record Library box containing a Yes, Genesis or Zep LP.
Such a great album, timeless
HEAVY DRIPPY BLUES RAWK - LETS GET DOWN.

More like "20 albums that might blow your mind and a few that are ripoffs of other bands"
I can agree, honestly these guys sound like Zeppelin to me.... I like it but still pretty much led Zeppelin lol
Would call it 'influenced by' rather than rip off.
@@asaprabbit8305 They sound more like Humble Pie than Zeppelin.
