That’s fine, even though the ending for S5 sucked, and to be honest, after how everything played out for Jack, I would honestly have taken a cliffhanger ending. In fact, the lessons shows lke Teen Titans Go! and PPG! teach are basically the exact opposite of morals. I'm especially mad about that fakeout involving the movie where we thought we would be getting a continuation of the OG show and instead got a movie sequel nobody asked for. There was a rumor going around that if Teen Titans Go! to the Movies did well, we would finally get to see season 5 and I'm almost convinced that was a marketing ploy to make sure the movie did well. Also, PPG had preschoolers twerking which is somehow okay when a lot of M rated games are getting censored because "Think of the children!" A show like this would have a production lead of 3 months to 1 year. This would be written, story boarded, and key framed. So yeah, planned by committee at least months in advance. Bet this was a final middle finger after hearing cancellation.
Yhey knew the show would be hated and boarded the episode REGARDLESS if somehow on the off chance it did well; I imagine they planned to bury the episode in the Nevada dessert next to the ET Atari cartridges.
What is it with these entertainment giants thinking that openly insulting fans is actually good for their franchise? Or are they banking on the niche audience to be the ones giving them all the money? This is why the Sonic movie is a bigger success than the entire Disney Star Wars saga combined
It's not just entertainment. Companies like Gillette was shitting on their customers for Woke points as well.... which pretty much has worked out as well for them as it did for Thundercats Roar.
"Lol, I hate working on this show, I'm not gonna put in effort or time to make a show I don't like good!" "Hey, our show we were working on got canceled, please hire us uwu ):" It's almost like... these things correlate...
I'm going to be honest. I watched the first episode and a half of thundercats roar and while I find the show boring. I wouldn't call the show disrespectful to the source material in the first few episodes I saw. it does what a parody is suppose to do. So everyone going on about it being disrespectful... It really made me think people need too cool their jets and learn what real disrespect is. This however, Is real disrespect what Teen Titan's go did, that's serious disrespect. having Panthro's body there is just tasteless. I might seem to be contradicting myself but I just think that watching this channel and seeing people arguing has made me into a bit of a bitter old man and made me realize a-lot of you arguing over this shit are no better than the people you think are responsible for making the bad cartoon. You are jumping to things that really aren't happening or happening in a different way than you think and context itself is what matters. You can't really complain about them not putting effort into their shows not to them directly because that is what they are being trained to do, Cartoon network doesn't want to spend money, and that isn't the animators faults. These people also worked on quite a few other things, they worked on Samurai Jack and OK KO. limiting it to just the mindset that "they are lazy" or disrespectful isn't an accurate assessment. The creators are however thin skinned. The whole thing on twitter reminds me of the guy that was joking with his friend that lived in a rural area about how he would never move to the country because the internet sucked and 1000 people pounced on him so he lost his job. in this age of unlimited knowledge. it might just be a good idea for people to cool their jets and stop spreading opinions like we're 1930's propaganda posters.

@@chaosdirge4906 i've never watched the original or the 2011 reboot, but seeing another reboot that has the same generic "make all the characters act stupid/crazy/weird" formula like ttg is just dumb. Like the 2011 version did, from what i've heard. Not make a "parody" so people stated their dissapointment with it, then the makers of the "parody" mock and insult the people for doing so..... wut?
If it is for kids, they did a terrible job at that. Being cheap, gross, and bullies does not make it for kids. Kids deserve strong, smart, and positive shows and movies the same way as adults and the general public do. TV-Y7 and TV-G rated shows can have serious stories and subject matters that even kids will not turn away from.

tbh i was more "offended" with how shit a lot of the animation looks for these reboots of dearly loved franchises that i adored. the art "style" looks like it was drawn by kids for kids. you complain about it and you get the "oh it wasnt designed for you lul" speech, yeah it may not have been designed for me but i have memories of adults enjoying cartoons too (like my mum). even animes/japanese animation looked better then these shows. you look at a "gibili" animation and it makes your heart sing. hell even the new castlevania series though netflix looks reasonably good.
It's funny how teen titans go and roar have only brought the good designs back for messaging and hating on the fans had you brought back a lot of these old shows that still have a huge fan base you would be rolling in money from old and new fans
If this show does get cancelled, now is a damn good time to bang on the doors of WB and Cartoon Network and tell these idiots to give us back Thundercats 2010 and give it the second season it deserves. But only one rule must be followed, keep Michael Jelenic (former executive producer of Thundercats 2010 and Teen Titans GO creator) away from the show. Traitors are not welcomed back.
Also if I may add, they did have an outline for the second season that involved Pumyra turning into a bug monster and permanently dieing, Lion-o going into the Book of Omens, coming out years later, and marrying Wilykit. *DON'T DO ANY OF THAT!!!* Give Pumyra a redemption arc, and no time skips unless it's to show the Thundercats prospering again years later, with Lion-o and Pumyra having a lion/mountain lion cub.
I would be fine with it being cancelled, only the OG and 2011 reboot series are the only Thundercat series to exist. Just sad how hateful and spiteful these creators have become, and even less of a reason to bother watching their hateful shit shows.
There was a Thundercat cartoon ? I only know there was an awful garbage cartoon on a fan fiction fantasy world based on Thundercats which I did not watch ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha !
I recently rewatched the 2011 series on blu ray and, he’s right in it being ahead of it’s time. Not just for the anime aesthetic but because it is a perfect series for streaming. It suffers as a weekly series but it feels like a series that could benefit greatly from streaming and binge watching.
Yes. Just, 100% YES! The 2011 was gorgeous with it's style, characterizations and it's AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER-like epic story! Such a disappointment when they cancelled it with such a great season finale that left open so many questions that needed to be answered.

I agree. I was hooked on it and it was a legit successor of 80's Thundercats. Damn shame I was cancelled after one season. Seriously fuck Thundercats Roar!
So.... this is the new Dark Age of Cartoon Network. Honestly, I'd prefer the first Dark Age, at least the first Dark Age didn't insult the viewers and tried something new.
@@redlightning6495 Yup, the same one. People give them crap for making live action but at least they were trying to make something different and original without belittling their audience. P.S.:spider man 3 and attack of the clone were ok. nothing wrong with them. OK they have flaws but you get I mean. they are still enjoyable for everyone.
There's talk that they made six episodes only and that they were contractually obligated to air them even if it's canceled there after. It's possible that they might put Courtright on a new show that he'd actually be happy making. Also, great shout out to Lio Convoy. the newer animated ones make me gag. why does it feel that we had superior animation in the 80s then we have now? yeah the 80s stuff looks "dated" but its better then this shite that was drawn for kids. my mum used to sit down with me as a young child (5 maybe) and she would have her coffee to wake up and watch cartoons with me before school. if she say the animation of these she would be rolling in her grave. i was raised on (in the 80s) on TMNT, astroboy, mask, transformers G1, she-ra, he man, gem and the holograms etc. i still look at those shows with fodness and memories of the transformers animated movie (from 1986) destroying my soul when optimus died. i have the sound track and that song still "triggers" me into crying. but over the years as ive grown up ive learned to adore megatron and starscream LOL

I really wonder what the higher ups at Time Warner must be thinking about this debacle. I wonder if they tolerate this just till they get more & better content. Also the Teen Titans Go movie is actually pretty damn good. Not to mention how self aware it was.
Go has a lot of self-aware humor as well as buried DC lore gags only the comic fans would notice because it wasn't material ever addressed in TTA. Ex Cyborg dreaming of being in the JLA in an episode that was written right after the conclusion of New 52 which had rebooted Cyborg as a founding JLA member- with the episode even ending with him in his New 52 design. Or simple sight gags like a memorial urn in the Batcave that says "Robin 2" on it, with a crowbar propped against it. I agree the movie was hilarious and was crammed full of those- the deepest and dankest cut was Nicolas Cage voicing Superman: the National Treasure pun is the obvious joke, but the layers go deeper- Cage playing Clark is the joke in of itself because of the proposed 1998 Tim Burton/Kevin Smith Superman movie that didn't get off the ground People love to pretend it's not there like how they also ignore that TTA concluded in 2006 and that Go began in 2013 (ie the adamant stance that TTA was cancelled for Go despite that massive time difference- Go was created because the DC Nation shorts were popular at the time). That being said, Go is also really damn stupid 90% of the time and gets really grating in large blocks of programming time. A single bite sized episode is fine for dumb fun and shenanigans, but CN pretty much has no other programming anymore and just uses Go for half-day long marathons for weeks on end.
The Teen Titan Go writters do have some talent imo, but they are soooo sensitive and bitchy almost every time they are faced with even mild criticism. It's okay to jab the audience once and a while, but they often take it too far.
When they make fallacy points against the actual problems critics have, and forget to put SOMETHING in the episode meant to directly entertain people who do like the show.
The network tried it's hardest to kill the show. It's was dead on arrival from how the puplic (not just the fans but the controversy killed interest) and the way the staff reacted it is an embarrassment.
Teen Titans Go and Thundercats Roar are dirty smudges on their respective franchises. They have nothing to do with the originals. At least the original Teen Titans cartoons manage to adapt its comic source materials and Thundercats 2011 is somewhat close to the source material with a few of its own twists. But Teen Titans Go and Thundercats Roar attempted to take the comedic aspect of both shows as the source material and completely disregarded everything else around it. It would be like using the 4 panel comics that belong in the extra sections of manga and making that into what the entire series is about.
I gave thudercats roar a chance and its really bad. There are no set ups, no punchlines, and no slapstick. Their idea of humor is running around screaming and funny faces.

The show was meant to have been released over a year ago. But between the strong backlash to the trailer and the like, CN doesn't have plans to continue it but still airing the episodes that were made.
Don't just dismiss that with "whatever, I've said stupid stuff on twitter". They had an actual 'childhood ruiner' badge made that cost them money to have made, they made an animated clip with the previous incarnations to attack fans complete with voice work AND attacking a deceased voice actor that took actual studio resources to create. This goes WELL beyond just twitter BS.
yeah, disdain for the original IP from the current creators of the franchise does appear to be a bad epidemic of late from Trek to Starwars to even cartoons. And they wonder why the shows keep flopping.
If there's one good thing to come out of this TTG/TCR mess is remind me of what a criminally underrated gem Disney's Pepper Ann was. That better be on Disney+ soon. They did one episode where the title character's tomboy little sister was super excited they were making a cartoon of her favorite superhero Tundra Woman only to find out they turned a tough, smart action star into a ditzy shopaholic. Upset they went to the producers to find out they did this because of limited "research" at salons showing girls loved female heroes who shop and took the young girl gathering women AND men who loved the character to see how much they screwed up. They made a new Tundra Woman show only for it to be a just as unfaithful, complete 180 concept of her being a savage cavewoman. They again go back to the producers again to point out how this is just as bad and while it looks like they'll try again they scrap a TW show all together and instead do something about a robot. There's obviously a message about stereotypes and sexism here: girls like things other than shopping and make-up as well as a young girl saying she admired a female character not because she's a woman but because she was brave and selfless, a statement some would have a conniption with today, but it could easily be applied to adaptions/reboots of beloved characters and how they can miss the point. The characters upset with how their favorite character was handled were again, male and female, and shown as reasonable and understandablely upset just like you'd find plenty of TC fans mad that Lion-O is an idiot man-child in TCR. Even the TV producers weren't mustache twirling villains just very out of touch and oblivious to the fanbase of their product. Probably the most far-fetched thing about them was they were willing to listen to criticism unlike whatever this is.
If it was cancelled, I say good riddance to that abomination of Tumblr influenced animation. Doesn't matter why it was cancelled, as long as it was. Whoever decided it was a good idea to do OG Panthro that way deserved to get the boot.

They planned to bash the viewers in ADVANCED.

Fans don't hesitate to voice their opinion these days, thanks to the internet.
fans: But neigh have there been a gathering of fans in our lifetime!
thundercats roar: and I owe them all money!
A show like this would have a production lead of 3 months to 1 year.
If Thundercats Roar streamed in a forrest; and no one was around to see it...they still would of made this episode.

What is it with these entertainment giants thinking that openly insulting fans is actually good for their franchise? Or are they banking on the niche audience to be the ones giving them all the money? This is why the Sonic movie is a bigger success than the entire Disney Star Wars saga combined

I agree the movie was hilarious and was crammed full of those- the deepest and dankest cut was Nicolas Cage voicing Superman: the National Treasure pun is the obvious joke, but the layers go deeper- Cage playing Clark is the joke in of itself because of the proposed 1998 Tim Burton/Kevin Smith Superman movie that didn't get off the ground
People love to pretend it's not there like how they also ignore that TTA concluded in 2006 and that Go began in 2013 (ie the adamant stance that TTA was cancelled for Go despite that massive time difference- Go was created because the DC Nation shorts were popular at the time).
Cancel this and every person in Hollywood who keeps up with the reboots, reimagination the ideolagy driven crap.
The sad thing is that abomination was even approved. Now it is a matter of time before it is cancelled.
