@Angelici Ordinis Japan is a xenophobic and archaic society that refuses to change out of the fear of losing their cultural identity. They definitely have two sets of rules and laws for foreigners. I think the prosecutor saying those things as well with the Justice Minister saying that what he says is baseless is a slap in the face. Japan held an autistic Norwegian woman and her roommate in jail without contact to outside help for over 20 days because someone sent her cookies with trace amount of marijuana in them without the people knowing. The Japanese also give "IQ" tests to foreign students in Japanese about their cultural history that if they do poorly on get put in special education classes or made to tend gardens because "they will slow down the Japanese students". This is a country that refuses to display negative media on their news unless perpetrated by a foreigner and will not allow the terrible things to get out internationally. Ghosn has shined a light on the ridiculousness that is Japan and its whole media and government system.

My son is working towards his degrees to teach in Japan and we can't agree on this. He believes Carlos is wrong and there are reasons Carlos isn't disclosing for his charges. Either his faith in the Japanese system is blind; he does know a lot about it, more than I, or Carlos has legit charges against him but they don't fit our idea of a just law system. The conviction rate alone is highly suspect on its own.

    • @waramni
      @waramni 4 года назад +12

@@kham3050 - At best this could be a white collar crime. In the U.S. the company's attorneys handle the issues surrounding the matter and at the end fire the accused if found guilty. In Japan, the prosecutors took over the matter and threw him in jail. The Japanese judicial system gives so much power to the prosecutors so that the assumption is guilty 100% and they can keep him in jail unless Carlos admit guilt.

There's a reason why so many murders are ruled as suicides in japan, because the police like to have a high conviction rate and they like to do it fast, it's not too far fetched that their justice system would be exempt either. Really a warrant for the wife who had nothing to do with this, this is just blackmail and an abuse of power on Japan's part.

The fact is that Saikawa: CEO of Nissan had asked the prosecution for a plea-bargain to eject Ghosn, in stead of firing him in company meeting, in order to avoid Renault's buyout ordered by French government to Ghosn.
Because Saikawa simply does not have nuts to raise his voice and fix this issue by himself.
That's why Prime Minister Abe officially mentioned "I would like them to fix this issue within a company".
Because he does not like to have diplomatic problem with Lebanon and also does not like to reveal Japanese 'media and governmental agency connection' to the world.
In the Ghosn's press conference, only TV-Tokyo was invited to the conference room as Japanese TV station and only TV-Tokyo has broadcasted FOLLOWING critical points mentioned by Ghosn without trimming them.
Because TV-Tokyo does not join the "Japan National Press Club": biasing vested interest media cartel in Japan, which is the axis of evil in Japan.
Ghosn has mentioned important points of that...
    1. Japanese justice system is unfair and outdated: He was in jail for 130 days without right of rebuttal, and he had not been allowed any communication with his wife for 9 months.
The prosecution had abused an exceptional clause in "Code of Criminal Procedure article 60 paragraph 2" to extend his detention from 10 days to 130 days.
Moreover, soon after he had been released, he was re-captured by the prosecution when he tried to open the press conference in order to speak up the truth.
The prosecution might have silenced his critics by sending him to prison again.
In addition, the prosecution had leaked/sold the unofficial information to media against a duty of confidentiality required by "National Public Service Act article 100".
This corruption is frequently happened and intentionally ignored by the "media cartel" described above in Japan.
    2. Japanese media is rotten: they had used and reported the unofficial confidential information leaked from the prosecution and Nissan without further analysis with the rebutment and contrary evidence.
Moreover, they have reported Ghosn to general public as if he is criminal and terrorist.
    3. Saikawa: CEO of Nissan had asked the prosecution for a plea-bargain to eject Ghosn, in stead of firing him in company meeting, in order to avoid Renault's buyout ordered by French government to Ghosn.
Everybody are rotten in some points and have good aspect and bad aspect.
Problem is that Japanese media and prosecution are manipulating the standard and public opinion with their massive power.

Sounds to me like this man had the cards stacked against him. If he IS co-operating with the authorities and answering questions in the press, it sounds like he's honest. Japan DOES have an issue with 'saving face' as is the cultural tradition in Asia. Furthermore, let us not forget that there is something called 'Kiretsu' in Japan. This is a deep alliance of government and business which could have the pre-disposition to find scapegoats. I suspect this is what happened here: He tried to take the company in a different direction and was vilified.

The Japanese, and perhaps at the highest level of authority, helped
Carlos exit, because the Japanese collective conscience did not express his
satisfaction with the trial of Japan's economic hero Carlos Ghosn, for a charge
if it was proven; it does not rise to the level of the of services he provided
to Japan economy, just as his ill treatment does not serve Japan's reputation.
Internationally, and does not satisfy the general sense of the Japanese people,
there are a large number of Japanese who were not satisfied with this trial and
the authorities do not want to be force to imprison him, there for the best
solution was to get rid of him and therefore somewhere in the corridors of the
deep authority a decision taken to allow this adventure to take place
    successfully

According to the World Justice Index, Japan ranks #15 (0.78), above France which ranks #17 (0.73), above USA which ranks #20 (0.71), and well above Lebanon which ranks #89 (0.47). Country’s governance and legal system are analyzed and scored between 0 to 1, the closer to a 1, the better the system. So in fact Japan has one of the honest transparent legal systems in the world. Better than France, America, and certainly better than Lebanon. Of course Carlos Ghosn wants the trial in Lebanon, because it has a corrupted system, and he has connections and money in Lebanon, so he can bribe and influence the lawyers and judges there. He is now using the Media to fabricate a “Fake News” story on Japan that doesn’t match the facts. He wants to rig the system in his favor. His arrogant brash behavior and speaking is also strange, and hints to his guilty actions. This guy really comes off as a sneaky scumbag billionaire liar who did some massive fraud.

Dig in the story more, anyway he is just a person prone to make mistakes, he is human. In lebanon there is corruption but not disrespect for human being, so ur mixing the corruption of the political system and juridicial system/ Nobody will imprison u unfairly in Lebanon. Lebanese people have empathy 100000 times more than Japanese, they will still let u speak and see ur family if your in prison. Its a human thing to do , we are not animals u know, but the japanese treat humans like animals.

First of all, people assume you're guilty because you escaped, second of all, people assume you're guilty because you're rich and successful. I like to travel, but I will never go to Japan, and the people are nice, honest people, but the justice system is terrible. This man hired many Japanese people, and there were no complaints about pay, about treatment, nothing. Usually when someone is charged with high crimes, there is a pattern of behavior. This is just weird. I don't know if he's innocent or guilty, but, 2+2 does not equal 5, so that gives me the benefit of the doubt. Something's not adding up.
