It's messed up the people of Wales will never know Askeladd was basically the second coming of Artorius and saved them all. He was groomed from childhood to believe the hero of legend would return someday, only to end up being the hero all along.
He wasn’t even a bad guy.. just a warrior and a leader...Thor’s would also kill people and plunder before he gave up being a warrior. I believe Thor’s and askelad are very similar, just that Thor’s gave up that life and I think if askelad didn’t die he would too because he has shown good morals in the story

But in anime thors after he left killing he became a true warrior he said true warrior doesn't need weapon. So askelad was great but not true warrior. He did everything he could to get his purposes that's not true warrior that why at dying time he said to thorffin "become a true warrior. Son of thors!"
You did a fantastic job. The song really captures what soldiers feel when the reality of war really sets in. They grow up believing that killing and always fighting is the path to glory but in the end they’re all alone and end the same way drowning with no one to save them. Thors understood this when he had his wife forced him to consider his family and try to pass the to his son, but Thorfinn will have to understand that on his own. Vinland Saga is so unique in its message and that’s why it’s one my favorite anime ever.

What I love about Vinland Saga though is that afterwards it shows how the main character finds his peace in the world he lives in and tries to break away from the anger that filled his life.

Vinland Saga is the sheer definition of "Salvation Lies Within", what an awe inspiring masterpiece. This ending compliments it gracefully.
