and this is the full run of metroid dread! decided to release the whole thing as opposed to multiple vids since my footage got messed up ):
but yeah here we are! wow what a game. while the EMMI started out as terrifying creatures, they became less and less of a threat as the game advanced. it was super fun getting good and knowing what to do when in the emmi zone. plus, the new tools and suit upgrades helped a TON. going invisible, the spiderman thing, wave beam, all our friends
some backtracking, boss beating moments happened (like Drogya, Corpius, and of course kraid) and it was all going swell! till the x parasites appeared... but then we met our friend quiet robe!! who also kinda died right after... smh that guy raven beak is not nice
but yeah raven beak being the last boss fight was super fun, getting to shoot him with the samus mega laser/final smash was AWESOME. then having to escape like in the original metroid games was also super cool. overall fun game! just a biiit much on the backtracking

FINALLY someone else thought Raven Beak was about to go full One Winged Angel when he stood there after getting one wing shot off.
Actually most people I've seen play through this game have made that connection.

Clarification: (and spoiler warning)
Adam is not evil, Raven beak is posing as Adam to manipulate Samus. Adam ends his orders with "Any objections, lady?" But he suddenly stopped doing so in the network stations. Adam has been on the ship the whole time.
The fact that raven beak was Adam all along is pretty funny seeing how much he was gassing up raven beak the whole game
I don’t think the entire thing is raven beak. I think only towards the end does he start acting as Adam

Love how he defeated all EMMIs by mashing the Y button (instead of holding it) for the Omega Stream

This mans calling out all her moves by her smash inputs made me so happy for some reason. And by the way i think the problem people have with her smash appearance is that samus get new powers and abilities in every game but her smash moveset has been the same since melee. Still though ill main her to my grave
Imo, they should update Samus, but keep Dark Samus' moveset as is.
I feel so good knowing that someone mains Samus.
@@TotPocketthat a good solution, it would still be kind of a shame though because Dark Samus could also have a really cool kit but I’d rather sacrifice Dark Samus for Samus to have a cooler kit instead

My favorite part of this video is how you say “reaction time” and not “reflexes”
You don't really have to backtrack a lot in this game! I got really lost in my first playthrough but in my second I really just kept pushing forward and completed it really fast!
You really don’t have to backtrack at all in Dread unless you’re trying to get all the items. If you just keep moving “forward” into areas you haven’t explored at all, you should never have to retrace your steps for more than 30 seconds.
It’s like he knows what a Metroid game looks like, and he knows how it’s supposed to go, but he’s never actually played one. I love it
at first seeing you not use counter murdered me, but i was glad to know you made more use of it as time went on, finally using your full moveset to it's potential

Lore examination (Spoilers for the manga)
Quiet Robe and Raven Beak both gave Samus part of their DNA when she was taken in by the Choso. That is why Raven Beak calls her Daughter at the end. They are not related father-daughther by blood, but rather the fact they share some DNA.

Could be absolutely wrong though. Does someone knows? I think she was adopted by the chozo or whatever to my memory, but I don't think he was specifically her father.

Try playing Samus Returns if you have a 3DS! It has the cool parry animations, and you get to fight Metroids, kill their queen, and have a baby follow you.
I've played through this game several times now to the point where I know the map too well to ever be scared by the E.M.M.I. Same with bosses. So I always love watching blind playthroughs to relive how it felt to play this for the first time.
Also I'd highly recommend finishing Prime. It's probably my favorite game in the series.

Ridley is dead in the timeline, and Metroid has gone out of its way to explain how Ridley keeps coming back. He’s pretty thoroughly dead this time since his last appearance was an X reanimating his frozen corpse.

been on a Metroid Dread binge lately, replaying the game multiple times and watching some old videos of people finishing the game and I've got to say
kinda frustrating that for most of the game he didnt find out about melee countering against regular enemies as useful and resorted to "only shooting"; he would've survived in so many situations

If we view metroid dread as a series of locks and keys the locks are almost always very close to the keys or very close to the teleporter you get to immediatly after you acquire the keys.
That and breadcrumbs with powerups, blue butterflies and other things are meant to ensure you never really
what's these blue butterflies for btw? i saw them across all the game but i never got their place or role.
@@mikael100100 Technically they belong to the Ghavoran biome (you see a flock of them around the initial entrance to Ghavoran), but since the Ghavoran biome is practically the 2nd last biome, that and it's attraction to high energy sources (like the mother computers as seen in the initial dead mother computer scene), means the majority of the time following them indirectly points you to where you ought to be going next. Gameplay wise they just help to subtly direct players to where the next intended objective is.

Ok as a fan of Metroid, I’d like to point out a lore inconsistency:
In Metroid Fusion (when the X are introduced) it’s stated repeatedly that X parasites survive in moderate to warm climates and thrive in hot. Why the hell would they freeze the planet, just have Raven Beak do it.
I think the idea was they were feeding off of the magma flows directly and fucked up the ventilation inadvertently by gunking up the system

For clarification on the whole "daughter" thing, Raven Beak aint her dad. But, he was the largest Chozo gene donor too her, and everything she has was based on him. Her power suit and even some aeon abilities from the metroid 2 remake are his originally.
