I went to five video game stores and picked up some n64 games. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at one of them. Let's travel along and see what happens.
I forgot to rate the last store.... WOW... It's the best video game store in the indianapolis area. It's a solid 8.4, that might be inflated a tiny bit because I've got so many good deals there, but I'm sticking with that rating.
You must be more mature than me. If I had someone yell at me like that, I would’ve immediately put down anything I was going to buy and immediately walk out.
Honestly, that should have been the move. I feel weird and like I did something wrong. It’s not until later that I realized I was in the right, and that’s when I come up with a good comeback. 😅
Really love the show man. I always loved going to the game stores in my hometown growing up, but I kinda let that hobby die when I moved to LA. Your channel has inspired me to venture out to the game stores around my area instead of just scavenging eBay to fill out my collection, and I’m better off for it. Just wanna say thanks for that
LA has a good amount of game stores. I’ve got family out there. Glad you are getting out there. The hobby is more fun in person, and sometimes you can make new friends
the exchange in indianapolis looked SO clean, organized, and their higher dollar stuff had a great selection from what I saw from the video. wish stores like that existed where I live in Philly :/ always gotta take a long drive to get anywhere half as decent. big reason I love this series so much is to be able to vicariously visit these stores too. thanks for all the effort Paul!
That Disc Replay story is a bit odd. The ones around here are all "cool", like I've had them get boxed copies of games and I've opened them/looked through them to see if they were CIB or not. Also, it's nuts that the other DR had Turbo Grafx and Neo Geo stuff. I'm in Michigan, so Google a place called "New Super Gametime" sometime. It is notorious for having the most anti-consumer rules, like no credit cards, taking a scan of your license to even shop there, not honoring the listed prices, selling repros as legitimate, etc. The Google reviews are hilarious because it's just the owner yelling at people calling him out on his nonsense.
I usually have a chill time at disc replay, I don’t know why that one was so weird. I’d I’m ever in Michigan I’ll avoid that place, but probably go to different disc replays
@@ThePaulWeber No, you should go to the place I mentioned, just so you'll have a story about it, like Scott the Woz does. There are four Replay's around me, but each has kind of their own specializations. One is more toys, one has more retro/import stuff, one has more TV show DVDs/steelbooks, and one has more higher-end games. Luck of the draw, I guess, but I did manage to get a complete copy of LSD at one, which was/still is amazing.
I go to this disc replay all the time, most of the employees there are actually very cool and very helpful. With that being said though there is one employee in there who is always yelling and talking very loudly, im not sure he even realizes how loud he actually is. I would bet this is the guy who yelled at you and would even be curious if it wasn’t a miscommunication. Overall I would say this store is organized except when it comes to their cartridge based games, the store is not very big and they have an absolutely MONSTROUS dvd and blue ray collection they are contending with. This is a lot of people’s only game store on the westside of Indy that isn’t GameStop, it sucks to see you’ve had a bad experience.
Love CEX, and I don’t mind it there. I would have been totally cool with the policy if he had just explained it to me, then not got super mad when I wanted to see the condition of a box or two. It was just a bad experience.
I've lived in Indy for three years and never really have been overly impressed with the local game stores compared to what I saw when I lived in Ohio. Plus both of the Disc Replays smell weird something about how they treat the carpet. Still nice to see these places be featured in a video.
Hey I live in indiana and I have a fun video game place to go to look for a mega mall in castleton it has a decent collection of games in general and lay time I went had about 50 different n64 cartridges of obscure games you might not have and also another thing is a giant ass retro arcade with 10 dollar admission to play as much as you want until closing

I too enjoyed The Exchange the few chances I've had to run in there. Super clean store, really easy to browse through stuff.

Yeah the CEX in the UK does that with loose games, that they can show you but you cant touch them.
