European Hispasat user here. Our two main TV providers in Portugal use Hispasat to host their tv channels (encrypted in nagravision), but those transponders are not broadcasting to America. Maybe if you had a dish with the size of a building, you could catch the signal :) It's interesting to see how wide is the coverage of a pair of satellites over the Atlantic
Yes, here in South America there is the same feeds available in the north as in the video, but not the European pay tv services as it is out of footprint
Outro tuga aqui! I remember seeing an article many years ago of a man who was able to receive ASTRA 19 in America with a huge dish, I believe it was 5 meters, it was in the analogue era reception has a lot of noise but was still watchable, it was so much time ago I don't remenber the details. I can't find it anywhere though.
here in Mosul,Iraq i can receive pretty much all Hispasat channels , but here you need a good line of sight to it because its near the horizon here its mainly received because soccer "Spanish clubs" .
I remember using the Skygrabber software and a PCI DVB-S2 card on Telstar 12, tuned to a DVB IP transponder. You could see some of the files people were acessing, mostly on Orkut social media.
One thing I want to tell everybody: Cubavisión and Cubavisión Internacional, even they share the name, they're not the same channel. Cubavisión is a national channel and only broadcasts inside Cuba, and the other is the international outlet of the Cuban broadcasts. Here in my city is a cable TV operator that has the international channel, why? Because is an FTA channel without encyption and I think they don't charge TV operators to broadcast it.
The reason is licensing and copyright. Austrian television broadcasts the national program encrypted for people in Austria, my father in law, who lives in Germany pretty close to the border, purchased a DVBT receiver, to get the normal Austrian program, the non encrypted channel can't show international shows and also skips movies, would be too expensive to cover all Europe.
Excellent video dude! I remember 10y ago that I helped my uncle to find the Star One C2 satellite for our TVBox with the help of an app within my Pocket Neo. I think that my grandma still uses the Star One C2 link. Now I'm finishing my eng. telecommunications degree, encouraged by my uncle (also telecom engineer). Hey, which model it is the antenna, or the kit?
1:38 Adblock buddy. Makes everything on the internet much cleaner. Curious what you would get if you pointed your dish at those other satellites seen on your iPad. I'd love to scan the sky over here in the US to see what's out there. Sadly a lot of it is encrypted because it's dish or directv.

Can you find the music service sat for DMX/Mood media in the birds up there?. It is listed on lyngsat for the US. Europe has it too, but the satelite is unknown, probably astra or something. I wonder if it is encrypted as the receiver boxes for in-store radio seem fairly "dumb".
@@peterfairlie2296 I'm curious about this too. I've been in a hardware store that had an in-store music system playing and skynyrd was playing but it sounded muffled. I'm wondering if it's just filtering by the receiver or maybe the audio itself has a low sample rate maybe 22khz at 64kbps. Not even sure what file format is in use AAC maybe, MP3? @@peterfairlie2296AdGuard Home (not the app) is a network-level ad-blocker, that basically uses the same principles as the hosts file, to deny (or approve) a list of domains, but for every device in the network, acting as your own personal DNS server with custom lists.
