Matt mercer and critical role may be more popular, but hands-down you guys are better in every way at the true D&D experience: wacky, entertaining, bullshit (also better at the game)
Same! The Unexpectables and the stuff from Stabbyness are the most fun for me to watch!
@@Kyla-StormhazardStabbyness is the GOAT
From TFS at the Table to having my favorite moment ("I have a bag...of ball bearings"), to Unexpectables with all the laughs it has given me. (The Beach episode in Season 1 and the Card Game a few episodes ago), you guys deserve more recognition.
I had to take a break from binging DnD because I watched critical role everyday for months catching up and GOT caught up but had no desire to continue just yet. Found these guys and realized I didn’t need a break from dnd, I needed a break from critical role. I binged these guys to completion back in the first campaign and have stayed with it since! These guys are my favorite!
Between The Unexpectables, Connor's Vecna Eve of Ruin campaign, Monty's Dungeon of the Mad Mage campaign, and and Dan's Stalwart Souls campaign, we are eating good for D&D.
Good point on the comparison of Otho's anti-criminal extremism to Ky's necromancy eagerness both being similarly dangerous enough for the latter to argue against the former's excuses for himself.
That was SUCH a great exchange between the brothers
Ky and Otho having a serious conversation.
Then there are the other guys loving life and enjoying breakfast.
I listen to this at work so i can't watch the screen. When Monty said "I am going to change the ambience here." I got an ad for a mobile game that was just gunshot noises and it caught me off guard. Lol. The timing was too perfect.
I was literally about to walk and go to the store. I get anxiety attacks from the noise and listen to podcasts and you guys to help. I just thought to myself "i wish i had another unexpectables episode"
Soon as i said that i got the notification
On the topic of unexpectables being less professional than, say, critical role. I could never really get into critical role because they were so perfect an clean about stuff that I kinda felt lost? Unexpectables is relatable and real. I wouldn't want it any other way.
Very much agree. Critical Role feels too much like a "Show" for me and makes it come across inauthentic. These guys are just friends goofing around most of the time and it feels more relatable.
No other group feels as professional as the unexpectables. Everyone else has too many interruptions, not enough roleplay, and even the voice part. I would like the clown guy group thats become popular from the animated shorts, but listening to them feels like a chore.
There's a fun theory I've ever heard about vampires. Apparently them being allergic to garlic was made up by them to mess with mortals. They in fact love the taste of garlic, it's essentially putting a bit of lemon in iced tea for them.
Finally caught up again! Another mysterious mage vault and that freaking scene between Ky and Otho, freakin chills! Cant wait for next session guys!
So back in the Twin Head vault, remember that there had been a teleportation circle. So there's a chance that you can find a teleportation circle in here to there
Professionally unprofessional as always, perfect. I love you guys. Never change.
Also, have you seen Sam's ad reads? There's plenty of unprofessional chaos on Critical Role.

I never really watch live,I wish I could but I got my own d&d night Wednesdays. Normally I just watch the VOD at work (like I'm currently doing now) thanks for keeping my sane in retail hell
Can't remember the last time I was this early watching as soon as it dropped. Might actually be the soonest!
Let's Go! No Curse in Allotted Time Challenge!!!
On today's episode of the Unexpectables. Gaius teaches music, Otho needs another language major, Ky gives "the talk", Isqan needs no map and Milo wishes he didn't have darkvision.
Spoilers Below!
Man, that was a great little episode. I always love when we start another Mage Vault dungeon delve. And what a great reveal of the major set piece. Love the idea of the big time stop bubble that feels like a warning. What on earth was the war?
And that talk between the brothers Valentinius. For such a great scene, it really goes to show how good Bosco and Connor are at the improv side of thing. That tension was thick! And I am glad Ky was able to speak his piece. Though I also sympathise with Otho as his thoughts about what happened at Windemere do refelct what a lot of PTSD sufferers might feel as life goes on after a traumatic event.
When Bosco said "I love Maroon 5" it was the first time anyone ever uttered that phrase
So I’ve been getting ads for Transparent Labs protein powder and all I can think of are the gym bros from the Vetrion worshipers in Centralia.
I finish episode 98 and just as I pine for a new episode, bam!~
Party forgots again that their Doctor is a golem, not an undead. XD
I ship the Hearthlan and Delvarian captains
2:21:18 Gaijin proving he is the one true player of BG3 lol #datethebear
Hey Bosco! Glad to hear you’re sounding healthier!
14:46 - It’s like listening to Saturday Morning Cartoons with yall. Don’t ever change please.
1:10:00 Could Margie put on gloves and learn how to Sign? When she’s done speaking with someone, she can take them off and hang them off the counter or by her apron.
1:11:49 I need some fanart of the Lye Down club loafing like cats stat!
1:24:03 (bombastic side eye to Donkeytail….)
1:28:47 (information added to theory….)
1:44:57 May I introduce you to potato pancakes? They are quite delicious.😋
After having finished two first drafts, and did a bunch of revisions on the first.
I would say yes, writing a book is harder than murder.
Just FYI:
A book in the 1400s would typically go for around 30 florins.
That’s an entire year’s wage for an upper middle class family.
I was also painting miniatures while listening, among other things like building a new cupboard to keep my D&D stuff more organised.
Which is hard, because chaos is my creative mode.
Everytime the do the mage vaults, I always imagine the interior of the Trayus Academy from KOTOR 2
Gleam with a Kazoo is peak
There's no such thing as "Boomer shooters"
They're called Doom Clones
I wonder how Lynn reacted to Gaius' moth buddy
Mark, what did you do??
The worst episode of Star Trek is Spock's Brain, hands down.
EDIT: I forgot Code of Honor existed. Evil Space Wakanda was not a good episode.
Only about an hour in, but I want to try to call what Empty is. I think that Empty is… a Summer Eladrin! It makes sense he may be a fey from there! Only enjoying cold food, fey monsters resembling animals from the material plane, having no idea what anything from the material plane is. Just a humble guess. But excited to be proven wrong!
3:07:22 I literally built an entire dungeon just to use this monster! And I based it on the first mage vault they were in!
We need weather rolls each day.
Hi Bosco, hi Mark!
Tiamat isnt a thing in this world
um....wasnt there a puzzle specifically BASED on tiamat in the mage vault where they found gleam?
No Tiamat specifically, but still a multi-headed dragon god- two of them in fact, one of chromatic and the other metallic
Surprised no one responded to I am so proud of all you all from Monty followed up you are hit a horrible smell. Nice one guys.
The worst Star Trek episode is Spock's Brain, wherein only men had intelligence and women didn't even know what a brain was.
I'm with Mark
Voyager is my Star Trek
Beautiful despite... because of its flaws
Janeway is a queen
My favorite character is Q
His dynamic with Janeway was great
Romania used to be called Wallechia, idk how that relates to the Italian thing though or why
27:04 i also learbed dnd from natural wonders
BEKFAST!
I thought the warp scale was logarithmic. Warp 1 is speed of light. Warp 2 is 10x the speed of light. In one book a ship had tested a wormhole drive and calculated a speed of something completely silly like warp 24. The idea that warp 10 is instant travel by being everywhere on the universe is completely stupid.
How r u gonna run a campaign with 20 pcs zito?
Ngl with half the stuff Sam Riegel gets away with y’all are fine 😂.
But for real though, give me an unprofessional but actually entertaining ad read any day of the week. Brands nowadays are so safe with their image and most other advertisements are so boring and repetitive and *constant* that they actively drive me away from their products. Die hard dice knows how to give y’all a little freedom and leeway though which is why I bought more than the Lys dice.
On the eve of episode 100 and things are still our favorite unprofessional chaos. Stay warm out there!
Funnee kazoo dwagon
that door puzzle should have been much easier to figure out. Remember, Gleam's vision was in what's today called Kutchner's cove, to the EAST was the dragon banner, to the WEST was the griffon banner. The mage vault they're currently in is to the EAST of that location, so the dragon banner was the flag of this mage vault's country
Now im getting the feeling that Kai is the reason everything bad is happening since the beginning, feels like in their conversation something's were said that made me feel like Kai didn't save Otho from the Ogres but recovered Othos corpse and maybe A. Accidentally brought him back or B. Made a deal with nefarious beings to bring him back which caused a cascade of events that led to Blightwing.
False what?! I don't even know how to spell it?
Let's GOOOOOO--- (Communication error.exe)
You might need to turn the gain down or your keyboard or maybe try typing from further away.
