Short Clip: 2 Sword Triangle Throw (Sankaku)

  • This clip explores sumi-otoshi (corner throw) using two swords versus 1 attacking sword, and a "triangle" (sankaku) bind. We were exploring it really for the fun of throwing, and as a way to explore Aikido techniques using weapons instead of physical hand-to-hand contact. It's not really meant to be realistic, but if you end up in that position, who knows?

    kinda dissagree with the throw. swords touching the guard (or rather right hand) when he throws. very sketchy movement with a high risk of failure and losing a hand... as exploration sure, but itd be valuable to look at ways of controling the blade better before looking to throw? just my 2 cents
