It says something special about a game where you can see a video about a random location, think "Which one was this again?" and then one scene in the cartoon you go "Oh, right. THAT one." I also appreciate how each of the protagonists are becoming more distinct. The Guy is right up to the end of the game, so we're using his character (The Confessor? I don't know their specific names,) to go back to earlier locations, while the Knight seems more eager to explore side areas like the Volcano Manor.
Okay, I think I worked it out! The main, bald The Guy is probably a Wretch, which also helps explains why he died so often that early. The helmeted lady is The Prisoner, hence the helmet, and this episode's protagonist is a Prophet, which was the outfit he was wearing until recently.
If you check out the earliest videos The Guy has his starter equipment visible, helmet and cloak. It looks like he started as Vagabond (and has been sword-and-boarding ever since).
I mean, if you were crammed into a tiny Stone box that only could fit something 1/3 your size for an unknown length of time I bet you'd be pretty cranky too 😂😅
This is one of those side dungeons I found and decided to come back later after getting stronger, it was not any easier, and this perfectly sums up the experience of this one!
I don't know about Carbot's local time when posting/releasing the videos, but it's always saturday morning for me. I just noticed that for many months, this is quite literally my saturday morning cartoon. Thanks so much for the series, you guys are incredible!
I loved fighting those tree spirits! I accidentally came across the one in the dungeon at the start of the game and fought it for hours until I finally won with my little flame burp. Every other one I came across was cake cause I knew the move sets so well. I think despite the size, they telegraph very well so dodging through their attacks works really well.
In case anyone knew what that music was but couldnt find it: It's Doubleback by Alan Silvestri (it was in Back to the Future 3 which is probably where most people heard it before) Ya welcome
This is just amazing! I haven't played the game in over a year, yet all the vivid memories of this dungeon came flooding back while watching this 😂 It was definitely one of the toughest dungeons in the game, at least for me, but good times.
I wasn't expecting a Back to the Future 3 reference, but I lol'ed hard. And yeah, this dungeon is a nightmare. I usually just run past all the enemies.
Most of the time, you can. Except the ones that block you from the treasures or the lever that opens the boss area. When I come to this place, I grab all the treasure, open the door, then leave and come back for the boss later on.
I was waiting forever for this! Yes you painted a beautiful picture for how insane this dungeon is. You’re never safe especially when you think you are totally safe rotfl 😭
All of your videos are so perfectly comedically accurate! The music you used, I immediately went, I haven't heard that song in forever! (Thank you for Back to the Future memories)
I have honestly seen every single one of these videos more than once and every single time I feel like this series were extremely well made. The funny perspectives and the translation of frustration and fear from the game to the player are absurdly well portrayed. Props! Can't wait for you to make the expansion DLC as another hylarious yet frustrating and similar journey! (the broken rune got me laughing xD )
I got shot through a space not long ago I thought I knew the place so well. It wasn't the same, now it goes to show Sometime you never can tell I'm lookin' high and low, don't know where to go I got to double back, my friend The only way to find, what I left behind I got to double back again, double back again You know I'm movin on in this fine machine Rollin' on through the night Seein' things like I've never seen And it's taking me outta sight Lookin' high and low, don't know where to go I got to double back, my friend. The only way to find, what I left behind I got to double back again, double back again It's got me up and down I been lost and found Down in a deep dark hole Looks like my luck has changed I been rearranged And I'm coming out on a roll Lookin' high and low, don't know where to go I got to double back, my friend The only way to find, what I left behind I got to double back again, double back again
This dungeon was awesome since you have to be very curious enough to venture all the way at the edge of a huge map that may not be worth searching, the dungeon is uniquely difficult and the rewards are at least a golden seed and Redmane Knight Ogha's ashes which can be useful. Definitely one of the few that's worth going through no matter what.
The worst part is the difficulty-scaling: The enemies have the same modifiers as if they were in Farum Azula, and you go there after beating Radahn who is on roughly Leyndell-scaling.
Radahn SUCKED compared to Leyndell although I haven't done subterranean shunning grounds yet. He has about five attacks that'll just pound you instantly, that arrow attack that btw, I thought was a lot harder to dodge than Astel and even on that tiny donkey basically outruns you. Oh, and btw, he basically gatekeeps a lot of the better regions for getting the smithing stones you need for a max upgraded weapon if you're not a sorcerer which I had when I did Leyndell. Leyndell I got through without dying, but the two things that have killed me more than Radahn so far have been gravity doing some jump sections in Caelid and Tiche (who I did beat with five deaths two weeks ago).
Running coop ghosts on this was so much fun. Grinding souls on the ghosts while every 2 minutes, get summoned in and either guide people through the dungeon or bleed the tree spirit.
Omg way too accurate. I got summoned here so many times and dodging those arrows, numerous ghosts and more. Also funny having the diablo fallen sound effect in this video
I was waiting for this one. I'm so surprised this dungeon passed any QC or similar. Hilarious and accurate animation! The boss part was perfect. What happens after explains itself!
This is all too accurate. The amount of times my friends immediately died here just going through the dungeon. The instant critical attack from the tree spirit as they walk through fog wall is icing on the cake.
I love Sam’s use of Nintendo games sound bites trough out the series 😊 Really showing his roots before becoming a Blizzard boy 😊 In this video he used OoT Ganon’s Castle 1rst floor before “The Guy” enters the Ulcerated Spirit boss room (:
Seriously, those archers can go to hell. I was _stunned_ when I ran in here at level 95 or so, took one arrow to the face, and lost literally over 2/3 of my HP. Then I took another one and died because he didn't charge the second one, which threw my roll timing off. Admittedly my 40 Vigor is kind of undermined by that Baldachin's Blessing I got from Fia (and have NEVER used) and my Twinsage Glintstone Crown penalising my HP and my over-fondness for Seals increasing the damage I take, but _come on..._
One thing about this dungeon: that Tree Spirit boss was when how to fight them clicked for me. I attempted it so many times, I had all their moves figured out, and I steamrolled all the rest of the ones I encountered.
JFC I lost it so fucking much when they started dancing there and died when one of them grapped the player to dance with him in the scarlet rot XDDDD I'm fucking dead now, posting beyond the grave 💀
Lol, the ending is PERFECT! That fight on LV1 was probably one of the more difficult ones for me. It did get me very familiar w the fight tho, to the point where I genuinely enjoy fighting them now.
That look of absolute disappointment on the phantom's face when the host dies in one hit. We've all felt it.

The thing I like the most in this series is the fact that you clearly suffered the same way we did in places like that.
So relatable 😂
God I haven't played this game in almost a year and I can still FEEL the energy of sprinting through that dungeon. It was the only real option!
This tomb is a source of great joy.
😂😂
I don't know about Carbot's local time when posting/releasing the videos, but it's always saturday morning for me. I just noticed that for many months, this is quite literally my saturday morning cartoon. Thanks so much for the series, you guys are incredible!
These knight are so badass that even death can't stop them from ripping each others throats out -Rusty
As if I didn’t love this series enough already, you put in a Back to the Future 3 reference? I love everyone in this bar!
I love the knight plucking on his bowstring like it's a standing bass
Going here the first time felt like I was walking into a bar fight.
In case anyone knew what that music was but couldnt find it:
It's Doubleback by Alan Silvestri (it was in Back to the Future 3 which is probably where most people heard it before)
Ya welcome
He knows, that boss at the end was a nightmare the first you get there
This is just amazing! I haven't played the game in over a year, yet all the vivid memories of this dungeon came flooding back while watching this 😂
It was definitely one of the toughest dungeons in the game, at least for me, but good times.
This catacombs is basically a hidden party chamber, can’t wait for Mohg is easy to come out!
still amazed how good these are, took me only a few sec to recognize the dungeon. Amazing work!
I'm glad you turned the front fighting into the dance from Back to the Future III
The phantoms face of disappointment after that arrow…. Exactly how I felt doing it with friends
This heals my Depressions, thank you ❤
I love the musical ones. Can’t wait for the musical number once he gets to the Haligtree!
0:48 I need a gif of the finger guns.
That final window with the archer, just before the lever, gets me every single time. You cannot beat the archer in a shootout through that window.
The boss room is so incredibly on point
I lol'd so hard at the end when he crosses the fog wall and the tree spirit is just *right there* and pissed off 🤣
0:46 I laughed way too hard. But the drawer/animator deserves it.
I recognized that bluegrass jam instantly. It’s from the town dance in Back to the Future 3. Nice choice 👌🏻
that back to the future 3 nostalgia hit me like a truck in my chest... love it
SAME!
Scrolled too far for the bttf comment
That takes this to a whole nother level
Wanting to understand these videos was my reason for playing Eldin Ring. It funnier when you understand the context and the struggle.
Love it.
I just started playing Elden ring and I love these video even more than the one for d2r bc I can see what’s about to kill me around every corner 😂😂
00:55 admit it,you got nailed that way too while watching for the wrong archer.
I did this dungeon on my 9 Vigor astrologist....this is the most accurate representation I've ever witnessed
You're either god tier or you died a lot.
Took me till today to realise its ZZ tops Doubleback, but in the style its played from Back to the Future 3
I got shot through a space not long ago
I thought I knew the place so well.
It wasn't the same, now it goes to show
Sometime you never can tell
I'm lookin' high and low, don't know where to go
I got to double back, my friend
The only way to find, what I left behind
I got to double back again, double back again
You know I'm movin on in this fine machine
Rollin' on through the night
Seein' things like I've never seen
And it's taking me outta sight
Lookin' high and low, don't know where to go
I got to double back, my friend.
The only way to find, what I left behind
I got to double back again, double back again
It's got me up and down
I been lost and found
Down in a deep dark hole
Looks like my luck has changed
I been rearranged
And I'm coming out on a roll
Lookin' high and low, don't know where to go
I got to double back, my friend
The only way to find, what I left behind
I got to double back again, double back again
This dungeon was awesome since you have to be very curious enough to venture all the way at the edge of a huge map that may not be worth searching, the dungeon is uniquely difficult and the rewards are at least a golden seed and Redmane Knight Ogha's ashes which can be useful. Definitely one of the few that's worth going through no matter what.
And somehow, feels like radahn’s weapons are the perfect tools to survive this dungeon.
00:34 I feel that disappointment… nothing more frustrating than a host dying lol.
Isn't that the do-si-do music from Back to the Future 3?
yep doubleback extended version
Was looking to see if anyone else noticed that 👍
I will never get tired of the expression on the Tree Spirits
I died more times to that ulcerated tree spirit than i did to Malenia. Screw this dungeon.
Very accurate. Also, I applaud the use of the Back to the Future Part III version of "Doubleback". Really brings the whole experience together.
This is absolutely one of your best videos. I love the sob when the arrow knocks him down and when he woke the gargoyles!
I swear I don’t know how many times there gonna shove a big a** worm in a room brutal
Running coop ghosts on this was so much fun. Grinding souls on the ghosts while every 2 minutes, get summoned in and either guide people through the dungeon or bleed the tree spirit.
I want this comment section to decide if I buy a plush
I too am leaning on buying the guy and derpy torrent set
Love that tribute to Back to the Future III with the inclusion of the song in the beginning. We're havin' a hoedown!
what is the name of the song while they are dancing? god i heard it before but not like this
doubleback extended version
Think about 1885
Great Scot!😂
Most accurate one to date 😅.
Genuinely love seeing a new one of these videos pop up.
Thank you
Omg way too accurate.
What I like with Carbot is that I discover new dungeons.
Don't go to this one.
Unless you're REALLY keen on getting every item in the game, you'll be better off just ignoring this place.
I really appreciate the soundtrack from back to the future
beautiful
I love Sam’s use of Nintendo games sound bites trough out the series 😊 Really showing his roots before becoming a Blizzard boy 😊
In this video he used OoT Ganon’s Castle 1rst floor before “The Guy” enters the Ulcerated Spirit boss room (:
I felt this video in my SOUL... It's a perfect rendition of every time I've ever gone in there.
I LOVE you used the Doubleback remix!!! It's my favorite version!!!
Man I love that once in a while I still get a new one of these recommended to me.
1:40 wasn’t expecting that 😂🤣😂🤣
I lost it at the Back to the Future 3 music ! Great job as usual
Love the look that his mouth is still wide open when entering into the boss room
JFC I lost it so fucking much when they started dancing there and died when one of them grapped the player to dance with him in the scarlet rot XDDDD I'm fucking dead now, posting beyond the grave 💀
I love how you used the song from Back to the Future 3, was always an enjoyable tune
Truly one of the Catacombs of all time
thank you for the music from back to the future , my soul has become very warm
The Cleanrot Knight slow walk was done to absolute perfection.
War-dead Catacombs is without a doubt the hardest minor dungeon in the game. What a nightmare that place is.
Lol, the ending is PERFECT! That fight on LV1 was probably one of the more difficult ones for me. It did get me very familiar w the fight tho, to the point where I genuinely enjoy fighting them now.
Back to the future 3 and Elden Ring. I love it. You always have the best music cameos man
Oh, love... you run. You just level your endurance and you /run/. I learned the hard way, too. Especially when you realize the phantoms respawn...
This is the dungeons that made me realise you DONT have to kill everything to get what you want. Just roll and wave boys, roll and wave
