Haha I've had one of these for years. Absolutely bomb proof, been all over the place with it. Not much use as a synth but the filter and delay are insane. Really hard to keep it under control... less is more!
I love my monotron. I have a volca nubass that I split the out put of, put on channel through the monotron and one clean into the volca mix, so I can add a little filter dirt or delay to a bassline. Also fun for spce-y ambient noises.
I have one of these and I can't quite decide if I should keep it or not. It's a really fun little thing to have, strangely enough one of my favourite things to play through it is also the pocket operator arcade. The other thing I really, really love to do with it is play my Volca Sample through it- it really does add some serious crunch and lo-fi grit to an already pretty gritty, lo-fi sampler. To be honest, I mostly keep hold of mine just to run the Volca Sample 2 through it.
I really like your review of this product and I want to encourage you to make a video doing a jam session with it so we can see what it's like implemented in your music. I'm not a musician just a fan of music.
@@TheCreativeHeadSpace yes. The delay is wonderful for so many things. If you set the feedback right on the cusp of self generation with the filter wide open then slowly close the filter you get a lovely effect where it begins to self oscillate at filter frequencies from about 90 to 10 per cent. It's quite musical. As a send effect it's nice and lo-fi and I personally think it beats a lot of rather expensive effect units in some respects. Also, the monotrons are great for modifying. Korg has thoughtfully labeled the circuit board with many points that you can solder patch sockets for connecting to modular synths and sequencers if you're into that sort of thing. I've just got into modular myself, and am seriously thinking about doing this with my 'trons.
@@TheCreativeHeadSpace yes, I'd love to fit one onto a Eurorack panel as it would make a very nice (and cheap!) synth voice. That'll have to wait until after I've sorted the room out though. Too many zero days 😱🤣
I have had so many mackies in my life including a studio i worked for had the often dissed digital DB8 ( I loved it ) was thing about doing a vid - do you have one ?

i love this little box...
use it much as a dub siren on dj sets
or over the aux in as a cheap fx processor.
