- 3 Months later and it still leaks gasoline. This model of the Husqvarna Combi Can available here in North America does not perform well. GP rating is a "Don't Buy". At $75.00 CDN, I had hoped for a much better quality product and at any price, it should not consistently leak gasoline from the spout. I hope this is helpful for those looking for a fuelling solution.

I've spilled more fuel with the so called environmentally safe gas cans then I ever did with the old fashion gas cans with no protection.
I use the Scepter 2-in-1 Oil and Gas Can Combo, 2.25/6-L from Canadian Tire. $29 regular price and $25 when it goes on sale. But it does not have the auto shut-off nozzles.

Here in Finland, this exactly same combi can is sold by many different brands, one with Husqvarna sticker is of course most expensive.
I have the other version you were speaking about. I got lucky and bought it a couple years back when it wasn't a million dollars to get (in the states anyway). It's been good, but the fuel spout is has recently started to stick where it almost closes, but not quite. I've likely gotten dirt or something in it so I'm not faulting the can. Thanks for the review!
The plastic swells eventually, it is not dirt. A guy shows how to fix it on you tube but I couldn’t salvage mine. It is a design flaw.
@@kurtvonfricken6829 You know, I run (99.999%) rec gas in my saws, but a few times I had run regular pump gas. Hmmm…. I think I can get a replacement spout for it if it gets too bad….
I use the other style Husqvarna Combi Cans and I really like them. The only bad thing is if you let the can sit in the sun, it builds up a lot of pressure and blows fuel when you put it in the chainsaw. But overall- a lot better then the style you have.
In hot weather if you push the tip to release presure before you invert it to fill saw it wont flow fuel out. It's really simple and always works 👍🏴
That’s disappointing the Husqvarna leaks. I agree having one product that is multi functional like the combi-can is nice.

I have one of the 1st Double Cans Made. Found it back about 2007
I have a Pump on the Oil side from a Lube Oil Bottle like You'd use to fill the Lower unit on a an out board Motor with and a longer hose.
The Gas side I have a Squeeze Filler. Looks like a Standard gas fill nozzle that you squeeze to pump..

Yup pain in the rear having two containers but less headaches and less fuel waste.. Now a days fuel is to expensive to drip on the ground..

I like to let the gas and oil over flow a little since it help to push any dirt out of the chainsaw tanks.
Ok, one less thing to carry even if it doesn’t carry the combo tool. It seems like a solution looking for a problem.

I've seen videos on them cans. The ones I seen done like you said. It cuts off when the tanks are full. But the price is what gets me
Never understood these, the bar oil already comes in a container when bought. Here in the states most people have a wood cutting milk crate as a kit.
Good afternoon Gord, hope you can get that can to work right or replaced with one that doesn't have a problem. No sense throwing away the money for something that doesn't work right. Thanks for sharing with us. Stay safe and tell the family Hi from way down here. Fred. We finally got a little rain and a little cool down , going to be under 100 for 4 or 5 days if we are lucky.
I have the other can you mentioned that has the rubberized pouch on the side for files and wedges as well as the auto stop and tip that you depress to begin fueling.
Here is some of my feedback on that incase you think of going that route.
1 - The oil and gas nozzles dont go into the can like yours. I dont mind this as its quicker and easier when you need to refill
2 - Pressure does build up on the gas side, if you dont press the nozzle down to release it before you begin filling, youll get a gas spraying volcano when you depress it on the saw.
3 - I have had issues with the "Auto stop" when filling gas on some saws. I think it has to do with proper venting on the saw when filling, pressure builds up as you fill and u get a gas volcano like above.
4 - Some guys have had issues with the section you depress to start filling. It sticks open when you press it down and doesnt pop back up. Which results in gas spilling everywhere when you are done filling the saw. I havent had this issue, but i use premix gas which has no ethanol. I think the cheaper gas station gas causes this issue.
Eagle makes the best gas cans, there super simple and all metal so they hold up
Im not a fan of the nozzles that automatically stop because of the reasons you stated. I like the one and done idea also. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day

Gord, once you set the can back down after fueling, try depressing the spout tip to let any remaining fuel drain back into the can before you flip the spout around for storage.
I don't have one of these cans, so, this is just a guess as to being a solution.

I don't like the looks of that can, it seems to be trapping residual fuel in either the spout or breather pipe which then drains when tipped. As you say, this defeats the object of having it in the first place! I use the Stihl Combi can with the additional oil and fuel cut off spouts, which works perfectly for me - no drips. So much easier than hauling two cans into the woods. Not cheap at about £58 (in the UK) and I'm not sure you can get them in Canada but I personally would recommend it.

Yep. Gas cans are thorn in my side. We have all this fancy fuel vapour recovery systems on our vehicles but gas cans leak or drip everywhere 😢😢
Do you think the problem may be that you are filling a Stihl and it is not compatible? Did you read the instructions and properly torque the spouts?
I have the same one it's now nearly 30 years old and on its second fuel filler. These are great cans but your using yours al wrong. Leave the spouts on ready to use and the seals will last you years, but unscrewing and fitting them each time you have to fill a saw is just not what's its design for. I also have the new type combican but prefer the old type which are now very hard to find in the uk sinse the new type came out. Cost in uk is around £45 👍🏴 ......ps: inside the oil cap is a lip that pushes onto the oil filler to keep it clean, it looks like this would fall off but when its used it stays in place very well. Hope that helps someone

Gord, help me out. I must be missing something. Why not mix before going out into the forest and have a readily available gallon or gallon a half whatever you need? I must be missing something obvious here.
I think the more environmentally safe the cans get, the more they spill.

Good morning David. I always fill the saw before going out - the can has two sides - one side has mixed fuel and the other has bar oil. Hope that helps. Cheers!

The 'European' version you mentioned is great at first but after a few months the nozzles deform and no longer auto-stop, thereby spilling gas everywhere. I tried new replacement nozzles but the same thing happened. If you search you'll find it's a common complaint. In my case, buying the the Husqvarna combi can was an expensive (and potentially hazardous) mistake.

GP you should know better it’s the saw that’s the problem. Husqvarna makes nothing but the best your lucky you haven’t had an explosion. Be safe

Your Right ,a 3cent old plastic milk jug ( painted red) would be "state of the art" compaired to this "drippy junker".

These new environmental gas cans are far worse than the old style we’re all used to. Between filling the can then trying to fill your equipment it’s a PITA 😂. I don’t even use the gas spout on the cans anymore, I bought one of those battery powered pumps that screw onto the can. Much better
