Yeah the read on the Ina situation seems pretty accurate. From my own applications for residency permits, they are pretty clear about the limitations of the permit, ESPECIALLY expiry/exit from country dates. If I had to guess, Ina's Visa ran out, and she was using the automatically applied Tourist Visa (yes, those exist, its how you enter a country as a tourist without prior application if you have the right passport) to keep streaming while praying the time limit wouldn't lapse while she tried to get an extension or new visa. Unfortunately, I imagine that she underestimated the lead time on a visa (It usually takes 45+ days from when you apply, but it can take longer, and tourist visa usually only last a few weeks up 90 days) and the Japanese foreign ministry or immigration office found out that she was working under an expired visa (as tourist visas don't allow you to do ANY paid work while in the country) and went "Nuh uh. You leave ASAP. No working, do not pass go, do not collect $200. You have to have a plane out of the country before your tourist visa is up." Hence her abrupt announcement. Don't get me wrong tho, this isn't like a forceful deportation, its more like Japan going "You agreed to leave on this date, you haven't, we need you to leave now." For me, I get about... 2 weeks to stay in country for a bit longer before my local immigration office sends me home iirc. So I think thats what is happening to Ina.
Additionally, while getting prosecuted for violation of this is unlikely, if they find out you did then it’s basically impossible to get a visa approved again. And considering she’s looking at getting a long term work visa to live in Japan long term that’s not something she wants to risk.
I think I am super sensitive to Myth stuff since Ame's semi-departure, because Ina's absence followed by Calli's lung situation terrified me. I was very relieved to hear the former is not too serious.
Nene and Ina are my oshis, so in the span of two day I got some less then favorable news two days in a row. Either way I’m happy they’re both staying in the long run

Why does Twitch hate vtubers so much? Restricting hips and chibi models even though *ALMOST EVERY SINGLE MODEL HAS EXPOSED HIPS & MOST VTUBERS HAVE CHIBIS!*. Ironmouse becoming No. 1 most watched streamer shows how big vtubers are on Twitch. If Twitch keeps putting in these rules, they're just gonna lose a massive part of their audience.

His conclusion was that the top brass at Twitch don't really get vtubing as a concept and moreover, it likely falls into the old stigma of saying "anime is cartoons and cartoons equal children so content must be for kids," irrespective of the fact that five minutes of sus clip exposure could shatter that reality like crisps under bison.
to be fair to them, i read this moreso as a "outfit mishaps can happen with irl streamers, but not vtubers" thing, so its alot more clear cut when vtubers are in violation of the outfit rules (imo vtubers should have their own set of restrictions as its not exactlly 1 to 1)
twitch on the inside has a lot of obvious biases to certain creators and categories, so it wouldn't be out of question if their rules towards vtubers is just their personal dislike of them without anything truly substantial. what happened with shondo leds me to believe that this is in fact the case youtube is the superior platform for vtubers so I would say that it would be a net positive if the big vtubers switched platforms

Those rules on hips have been in place for a while, just rarely enforced and when they were, not in a clear manner. Now they are, and trying to be clear. Also, if you get mass reported, the case will be seen by a person now. Mass reports by haters have been an issue for vtubers for a while and likely the reason for a lot of the bans that would quickly get overturned. Honestly the loli thing just makes sense from a platform perspective. Advertisers and normals aren't going to look at character that is meant to look like a child and go "oh but the person is behind it or the character is an adult, they are going to see a child doing provocative things and go, "no this is not ok," and leave the site. Chili's given the point is effectively to add a child like appearance are getting caught in the crosshairs. Honestly the only dumb thing is that it the wardrobe stuff gets thrown out the windows with VRchat. You shouldn't be able to just put your model in vrchat and suddenly be exempt even though you are your avatar. There is a reason when these rules were clarified that more level headed vtubers like mouse and geega like agreed with everything but the vrchat loophole

One thing to add, Nijisanji Gen 3 Ethryia celebrated their 3rd year anniversary this week. The livers were too busy to put a lot of effort into it with Millie being out of the country, Enna just recently got back from Japan from her concert with Nornis and Reimu working hard and trying to get concert tickets for a different artist in which she was unsuccessful at, but they did stream together with their fanbase in which the fanbase got hit with a tough Q&A section in which the Livers can now look down on their fanbase for failing.

Compare to China, you have to pay to leave the country if your visa is expired.
