  • The Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast is the definition of Bay Stewards. The annual crab feast sources locally caught crabs and has recently become zero waste, hiring a local compost company. The segment will start out on the water, following watermen as they catch crabs for the feast. We’ll follow the crabs they catch as they’re delivered to the feast. At the feast, we’ll catch up and follow the “green team” as they set up and compost stations throughout the party. We’ll hear from the organizers about how important it is to keep their footprint small and follow them as they make sure the right trash ends up in the right bins. None of the trash from the event will end up at a landfill, they’ve achieved 100% reduction. It’s all recycled or ends up being picked up by Veteran Compost, taken to a farm and composted. Even the flat ware is plant based The Crab Feast is one of the largest fundraisers for the Rotary Club.
