This is one of the greatest pad work instructional I've come across on youtube - The fact that you also explained the logic behind everything is what makes this video so good! Theres a reason why there are 100 likes for 1.5k views (an insanely good ratio)! Subscribed
I’ve been training pads for about 6 months at Kiatphontip in the UK, this video is an absolute goldmine for information. Thank you for the quality content 🙏
I mainly do boxing padwork and this was extremely helpful! I haven't thought about using a bit more intuitive padwork in that specific way, but this was really helpful!
Watched the whole thing, plenty of good info in here man, thanks. Could you comment on how to properly hold for a hook without tweaking the elbow? Gotten tennis elbow multiple times from holding them with my arm up at a 90 degree and the pad turned inside.
Try holding it with thumbs pointing up… but even more importantly is timing and the person throwing hook, pad holder and fighter have to be in sync, both of you should be in a rhythm, otherwise elbows get smashed in hook. It’s common. Also, if you want to minimize risk even more, go limp with your arm so the hook slaps… not as satisfying for your partner/ fighter but if it comes to your elbows… !
Thumbs pointing up meaning pad faces horizontal instead of straight up 90 degrees… in other words your forearm is straight instead of forearm vertical … hope I gave the right picture!
Wow. The amount of knowledge dropped in this ONE pads session is actually phenomenal.
Appreciate it! 🙏

@@8TribeMuayThai8 yes perfect. I've used this method a bit, unsure if it was incorrect/unrealistic for the fighter. Definitely helps tho
