This Tiny Excavator cost me $10,000 USD | RC ADVENTURES

- Yup, some people would say Im crazy.. but fear not, Im not the only one purchasing these beasts. The "Kabolite K970" Mining Excavator is fairly "new" on the market.. and as far as Expensive "Toys" for Big Boys in 2021 - and as they say "you got to pay to play". Yes, there are Radio Control models for all types of budgets & styles.. and ponder this.. this model is NOT even close to the top price models in the world.. but it's the top that I can justify spending this kind of money on and get it during a difficult time of supply and demand. I live in Canada.. in Nova Scotia.. and Shipping this 80lb brute across 1/2 the planet cost almost $1000 USD alone.. not to mention import taxes and duty charges - and Paypal fees! UGH. All together.. this cost me a ridiculous $12,500 CAD - before it hit the border. Is it worth it? Well.. time will tell. Im stoked for the precision of this machine.. and I am really liking the sound kit. I know, it doesn't sound (the sound kit specifically) great through a camera microphone - but in person its actually amazing. I like that the sound kit is responsive to the input of the hydraulics on the transmitter.. , and the wheeling of the tracks - not to mention ALL of the amazing detail. I have to get more familiar with this model.. and after I turned off the camera, I discovered one of the tracks Is not moving properly. Hmph. Go figure.. Thanks China. I'll crack it open (the drive gear)..as I suspect it' only missing a drive pin - or a loose grub screw in the planetary gears... Apart from this minor issue.. this model has astounded me thus far.. and I look forward to putting a few hundred hours on this machine.

More than 10k!
Just stumbled on this video, not a RC enthusiast but only because I know I can't afford the hobby, that could change in the future, but I never knew they made such hyper-realistic RC construction equipment! This has to be the most detailed and precision engineered "toy" thing I've ever seen, period! The screen in the cab was just the icing on the cake, are you kidding me? They took the time to do THAT?!?! I work in telecommunications engineering and go to the field a lot to see these things in action up close and in person, and this thing appears to operate and work exactly like the machinery I see out there. The hydraulic coupling pin was just 🤌chefs kiss! Now you gotta learn to smack it around with the arm to straighten it out before lining it up to couple. I'll have to see your video on the white one to see how well I can justify that $10,000 price tag though, cause so far the white one looks like it can do a lot of the same thing, but that's just my ignorance showing, of course.
Love the no BS videos. Just a dude enjoying life, and hobby.

Wow. As a long-term maintainer in the mining industry, this thing is epic. That hydraulic coupler pin is called a quick-hitch, which require frequent rebuilds due to the battering they get. The only thing this lacks is changeable G.E.T. Also, I just realised what a lightweight I am in RC. LOL

Coming from someone who works with track hoes for a living, it’s much easier to put on a bucket if you uncurl all the way and come straight down over the pin in the bucket, then curl in (and boom up some) to pick up the bucket. If it had a real miniature diesel engine that smoked like a real one I could kinda see why it's expensive..sound boards are cool but a real functional diesel engine that runs off of real fuel would be really cool
i agree
it would be so awesome if they made a little diesel engine for these things
Would be cool, but I would assume it would just run for the sake of smoke and sound at that size. Running an RC fuel tank that would fit and look good would probably be too small to be of any use. Maybe a 1/10th scale.
What an amazing piece man! The control and movement… WOW!
I definitely like the sound set up as well. Nice that they added the track sound, kind of helps hide the electric motor sound.

Don’t know how i got here, but I enjoyed it almost as much as you! Thanks for sharing and enjoy, that is one hell of a modell.
I can fully appreciate the intrinsic value of a high end RC model. This one is truly exceptional. What I don't understand is the value of one aside from collective value. What can it do, realistically in 5 hours, that you can't do in 30 minutes with a shovel? Is there any risk in operating this high-dollar toy aside from maybe rupturing your automatic sprinkler lines? What you spent on one toy, is over 4 times what I have invested in a hangar of 10 RC aircraft, the gear required to fly all of them, batteries for multiple flights of any I choose, and the knowledge that any flight of any plane could be it's last hurrah. How do you justify, to yourself,, such pointless indulgence with so little evident return? Do you learn anything about engineering or design? Do you test and expand your own capabilities? Do you really gain ANYTHING other than being able to say that you have the most expensive toy on the block?
Any novelty attraction would be immediately killed by the ridiculously exorbitant price, even if I had the money.
I could purchase the material and all requisite electronics for multiple high-performance long distance/endurance FPV RC planes for that money. Far more fun and practical value.
@@skateboardingjesus4006 amen! My dad used to say that some people just have more dollars than sense. He was right.

Sweet tractors bro. RAD!!!!
I am 53 years old and back in the 80s in my early to late teens I was involved in a group of BMXers. Racing was our thing. Anyhow once we started driving and dating girls the bikes were put away. 3 years ago my best buddy and I realized we missed BMX (Midlife crisis) we both jumped in with both feet and we both have 2 bikes. HE has a 20" and a 24". I have 2- 24". 3 of the 4 are custom starting with frame and fork. Built up just as we each visions what we wanted back in the 80s. We spent $2000.00 or more on each of them. People love them because they are all RAD RETRO. However they find out what we spent and they think we're nutz. Original survivers are 3 times that. So I can imagine what people are saying about a $10,000.00 tractor. However I really appreciate quality. If you are going to do it, do it right. Why get something you don't smile at and enjoy? That would be like me going to Walmart and buying a $150.00 heap of junk steal which weighs 60 lbs instead of 4130 Chromoly which weighs 25 lbs which is stronger, tougher and extremely light. I walk by my finely tuned BMX master pieces and smiiiile! Bikes now are dull black and grey with alittle color. Back in the 80s your BMX racing bike was your jewelry (BLING) Just like what I have now. Well that yellow master piece in being as well. Shiny tractor yellow with all the tiniest details like chrome pipe and black rubber hose held together with real life like fittings, protection grills as real life, bucket detail with same attachment detail , rotator under cabin with all the many bolts and nuts perfectly aligned, all separated metal panels lined up and operating perfectly. All done with precision as it was built for a civilization of men and women 5 inches tall. That is the sweetest real life like tractor I've ever seen. I appreciate the whole thing. Thank for sharing your pride and joy. Great video.
