Corey has to be one of the most underrated guys in metal for many reasons. The guy is a beast on guitar, can reliably scream and was able to when Matt had voice troubles, plus he is an excellent stage performer.

Jesus his voice got so much better. When they first started to tour this album he was holding back now it sounds fucking amazing
@German Suplex Potato it didn't sound this way when he first learned how to scream without hurting himself, he sounded like a frog lmao. He's mastering the technique though so it's sounding so much better.

@@aram282 his technique in 2011 was the same technique he was using in 2005 and destroying his voice. Yes, the Chapman studios recording sounds great but his voice was paying the price. I think Matt outlines more about the two techniques in videos during the recording of The Sin and the Sentence.

Basically, he blew his vocal cords a few years back. If I recall correctly, he stated to do proper screams, as he said he'd screamed incorrectly for all those early years

He doesn't, but I saw a show from 2008/09 here once, where he inhale screamed on Pillars of Serpents or so. It was a show, where they have also played that Iron Maiden cover song.

Matt's voice always sounds weak af when he clean sings... I was completely devastated when I saw them in Portugal at VOA Fest. A huge disappointment.
