I've got a 16th one: fragile. They MUST have known this for the movie "A Christmas Story" when he sees the box containing his "major award" and exclaims: "Fragile" in a long and drawn out manner: "It must be Italian!". The pronunciation of "fragile" in Italian is of course much more stacatto than how he says it in the movie, and with the the trailing "e" pronouned.

There you go, "staccato" is another one you just threw in there casually! It can have the same meaning as a musical term but it also means "detached" in general

Io sono brasiliano, pero ho antenati italiani. Sto imparando italiano tramite DuoLingo. A differenza dell’inglese, il portoghese è una lingua latina perché esistono più casi di parole simili. Mi piace imparare. Cosa del cuore

Bravo! 😁 Sì, entrambi sono simili. È facile per te imparare l’italiano?

Sono ancora un principiante. Direi che la parte difficile è stata riconoscere la cittadinanza. Imparare la lingua è più facile.
