Just had Hyper G put in a new Pure Strike. Feels great to me. Much better than my two Pure Aero rackets with RPM Blast. But I'm still kind of new to tennis and haven't tried a lot of equipment/strings. But the Pure Strike w/ Hyper G feels so nice when I hit the ball. Spin, power and control are all there. If the Grapplesnake are that much better I would definitely love to try them.
I would definitely try out the Tour Sniper on your next string job to compare. Personally, if I was using a Pure Strike, I'd try Tour M8 because the thicker gauge can help tame the high launch angle of the Strike. Its also softer than Sniper i think which can help combat some of the stiffness of the Strike.
I would like to hear about thin strings 1.1-1.15-1.2 I prefer string to brake faster then stay 3 months. Since string last 15 hours it’s better to break after the tension lost.
Great review as always. Hyper G is a good string. However, I find Confidential to be marginally but noticeably better in just about every important area including spin, predictability of launch angle, tension maintenance, controlled power and comfort. If I want something softer, then I’d pick Hyper G Soft instead. The only reason I might pick Hyper G these days is if I want something close to Confidential, but in a bright green colour to suit the racquet! That said, I’ll admit that if I lose a match playing my racquet with Hyper G, using another with Confidential probably wouldn’t make any difference to the outcome!!
We are working on them. Working on a H2H with Signum Pro Firestorm and Lynx Tour, and I've got a demo package coming from Tier 1. Simon has also begun a journey where he looks for a string of choice. He'll be making regular blog posts on our website soon so you can follow along.
I recently strung my old Speed Mp with head hawk and liked it the first few hittings. After some time the string just felt dead. Now I used a Lively shaped string similar to hyper g and I experience the different launchy balls sometimes like you mention and it frustrates me because they often sail long. Now I need your help guys, you maybe know a string that has both, decent touch and control with a little bit of bite and livelines. The touch and feel of head hawk was really good for me but it went totally dead after 10h.
Almost impossible to find strings that last more than 10 hours. The only ones that have worked for me are Grapplesnake Tour Sniper, Tour M8 and Tourna Silver 7 Tour.
A Poly tour pro and Alu Power soft review would be awesome. I also just had a very inconsistent experience with Lynx tour. Also I found it to be overpowered.
Thanks for your answer. Here in Germany PTP is the cheapest of the bunch. I ordered TS and will test it. Is it possible that Lynx Tour adds weight compared to Alu power ? Racket feels heavier
I felt that Lynx Tour felt a bit heavy as well, but I would need to measure it to be sure. Simon will be doing blog posts on our website where he tests a ton of strings in his own string journey for anything you come across that I may not have reviewed.
@@mansour6623 HEAD’s labelling of Lynx Tour is slightly understated. If you string, you will notice for example that the Lynx Tour 1.25 is slightly thicker than most other 1.25 polys. As such, it is also a little heavier. Full bed Solinco Confidential 1.25 in my Gravity Tour is 17 grams. Lynx Tour 1.25 is 18-19g.
I find iso speed baseline still better then both hyper g and tour bite even though its one of the cheapest on the market. The control and spin are really really good, better theen rpm blast for me. Will need to try stringing tour sniper and give it a try.
I haven't tried hyper-G in a few years either, but from my testing this year, I put Grapplesnake game changer and tour sniper at the top as well. Loved volkyl cyclone as well but it just died out pretty quickly and I'm not stringing once every week or two haha. So I concur with the united board of completely subjective and made up graphs 😂
I hit with hyper g once also had hyper g soft on my prestige for a while. Hyper g soft is definitely something you should only consider if you have arm issues or don't care how it feels when you strike the ball as its mussy and weird. Hyper g as well that have to agree because of the material and the finish of the string feels muted and not crisp, rest of the things like mentioned, spin, power, tention maintenance are pretty avarage too. It really is a bit over rated. My favourite set up is volkl cyclone tour hybrid with technifiber triax, pre stretch as known to loose tention but seriously after the initial tention loss It settles and plays well as for at least 10-12 hours depending on the intensity. It haa all you want from a string thought, power spin control, amazing feel so on...
Great video. I'm going to have to give some grapplesnake a try. I've been playing mostly YTEX, Toroline and Tier One. I really like Solinco Tour Bite though.
Great review as always. I heard you mention the new Head Extreme with Auxetic. When do you anticipate reviewing this the Extreme Tour with Auxetic? Any idea when the racket will be released to the public?
yeah released in September. I'm hoping to get an early copy from Courtside, but that will depend on permission from our local Head rep as well as shipping/stock. I just sent a follow up email on it today
Thank you for this! Wonder if you've had the chance to try Black Code or Black Code 4s and what your thoughts are in comparison to hyper g and the strings you mentioned? Thanks!
💪🎾 nice review. Weiss Cannon Rock'n'power is a very stiff or softer string? And one question please: will the 1.20 string weight much less in the frame than the 1.25? I mean, does it change the balance?
1.25mm will weight more and change the balance. The amount this changes depends on the string and racquet, as some racquets require more strings than others. RocknBlue is pretty stiff for me and not particularly comfortable. Note that square strings at 1.20mm are much thicker than 1.25mm because the cross-section is a square. when a circle has the same diameter as a square has width, the square has more area, meaning the string will more valume.
@@TennCom You're right, great explanation of geometry. I had not taken it into account. I was thinking that maybe with this finer string I could lighten the head balance on a YONEX EZONE 98 TOUR. What do you think about that?

Linear 2-handed backhand I like to hit flat and through court and spinnier forehand (but still flattish). I like hitting through the court and being aggressive. Just switched to HEAD Gravity Pro last month. 3 strings you'd recommend for the 18 X 20. (I am coming from the legendary Ezone 98+ from 5 years ago that was flexible like butter but powerful--couldn't hit a good drop shot in 5 years with the long racquet though.) Looking for refresh from HyperG. thanks
@@TennCom Feel and feedback. I want to feel the beauty of a well played dropshot. I guess it's dwell time? Hard to put into words but HyperG sometimes feels board-like and possibly that's the tension (52). When I go too low on tension balls spring out.
