Fire is a nasty critter. You chase it around and can't find it, then it vents and it turns to surround and drown! You guys did good. Keep putting out the great videos Steve, you put me right back on the fire ground every time. Thank you Brother. God Bless...
Thanks again for this footage! More stunning than the evening crime show! To me it becomes appparent again that I would be "too chicken for this kind of job", as the Americans would say! Cheers from Germany, J.K.
Here I am in Florida I knew you would be there. For all the Vandergrift firefighters Wilmer Shaner is in the hospital. He's been there since. July 16th.
Wow this is a huge fire 🔥. I pray 🙏🙏🙏 everyone is okay. God Bless our fire fighters and the medics. I would love to see the day after pictures 😊😊.
The East Coast has so many fire videos. I've seen so many in Vandergrift, PA that I wonder if there are any buildings left in that town. God Bless all first responders. To say thank you seems so petty considering the sacrifices you make
As my old Chief used to say, "I will not risk the lives of my men by putting them into an empty building burning out of control". Wise words...
From where I'm sitting "KISS 'EM ALL GOODBYE"!!!!!
GREAT FOOTAGE ! SO CLEAR I FELT THE HEAT !PRAYING ALL STAYED SAFE !🥇
really blazing at the 7 min mark...Destroyed 3 Homes.
Don't those trucks carry at least a little bit of water?
So why does that engine have red and blue lights can't have that in PA
Steve how many minutes do you live from Vandergrift you're going over there all the time. I live 17 hours away. Where I live Tarpon Springs they have a paid fire department and they haven't had a fire call in a year.
I'm about 22 minutes from Vandergrift
Finally nice to see deck gun or master stream on flare up back getting knock the hell down you could hear the force of the water bustin down crap in the fire hard hitting pressure 3 blast on horn mean get the hell out not sure what the extra long blast was for
6:40: This is a "Mayday" alarm, isn't it? It would fit here, as the fire seems to get out of control!
I think they need to put water on the fire. Water is dumm, water does know what to do, you have to show the water what to do...
@@MrBobity "Wasser ist dumm", yes! But didn't the firecrews have water supply problems, which is bizarre in a residential area with hydrants at every street corner. Also, the use of a tower ladder seemed to come a bit late!
@@jurgenkuhlmann9194 Looked like water problem's all around!!
@@MrBobity Yes. But as we see here, anything can happen. That's the spooky side of firefighting, isn't it?
some vintage pieces there in nice shape. I'm curious if the water issue was too many companies tapped into the same grid, essentially robbing each others supply.
Does not seem like water was the issue. At several points you could see pressure relief valves going off on the intakes which generally suggests an excellent water supply. If anything they were simply asking for to much water. They had master streams running all over the place.
A water shuttle would have been a help if they were straining the system. That's happened there before.
Yes I just noticed that ladder truck from Apollo that thing looks like it's from the 1980s in really good shape. It almost looks like the Ford that Vandergrift had. I think it was about a 1985. Hell I think there's snorkel Vandergrift is around 1993 or 92.
You know I was thinking the same thing about the water there was so many different fire trucks ladder trucks using so much water they would have a really hard time in a place like Phoenix Arizona where they're short on water
@@hihfty it’s been this way for the last 50 years. Crying no water as they blow it out a relief valve into the street
I think that engine with the deck gun might be a little too close to the involved structure.
15:15: A very interesting view of a truck - mounted deck gun!
How can this be possible, is that house between two others?
New Kensington waiting on water cause that task, or any for that matter, weren’t prioritized. 🙄
I guess they sounded the airhorns to wake everyone up to escape
Evacuation horn blasts at 6:20
Check ole dude decided to fire up a smoke while he works the the controls WTH
poor placement of equipment. some too close to buildings, some way too far, some not in a position to place water wear needed.
