13:00 I’m shocked at Fleischer’s ruling today. Defendant was on deferred for assault on a pregnant woman. Then violated that bond with new case of DV against the same victim. Why did judge only send defendant up to drug test, with a simple admonishment? IMHO he should have been revoked and remanded. Didn’t the 2023 HB 1589 state that violating a family violence protective order with a new dv case, can be enhanced to a third degree felony? Conviction can result in a punishment up to $10,000 fine and 10 years in prison. I’m not an attorney, but seems like something’s wrong here. Anyone?

I’d like to know something… the case with the Asian lady charged with prostitution. She needed an interpreter in court. Did she need an interpreter when she was communicating with the arresting officer? How did she agree to the straight secs act for money?
This case stinks to high heaven of human trafficking!!! It seriously needs to be investigated to find out what’s truly going on. I bet my left nut that she’s here under duress. She was probably promised transportation, food, clothing, and “safety” under the guise of her working off her debt. She likely had no idea of what her job was going to be. My gut tells me she’s doing the hooked thing because she’s got no options and no choice but to do as she’s told. They probably threatened her family or some crap like that. Terrible. Just terrible and tragic.

Are you serious? Here’s why it’s not “Ridiculous” I don’t care if you read it or not.

Violence: Sex workers are at higher risk for violence, including homicide.

Social exclusion: Sex workers are excluded from social protection schemes.
Trafficking: Prostitution is connected to trafficking, which reflects sexism, patriarchy, capitalism, and economic inequality.
